With Christmas around the corner, Homebase wants to know all about your festive favourites and the seasonal must-haves you just can’t live without.

Would Christmas without a tree not be Christmas at all? Have your baubles got to be a certain colour to fit in with the rest of the décor? And is there only one style of lighting you could ever have in your home?

Whatever’s essential to you this Christmas, visit homebase.co.uk and post a link below to the products you just can’t live without - and tell us why.

So for a chance to win a £300 Homebase voucher, simply take the survey and add a comment below.

Thanks and good luck,
MNHQ

Light Up Polar Bear Family with Snowball

My husband is the grinch, he hates Xmas decorations but I would love it if we bought these as we are the only house in our cul de sac that doesn't'deck the halls'

A real tree. With real smell. Even in our first house, when we had no other decorations and no money, we managed to find a little tree and I made paper dec's for it. It's become a family event for us all to get one now, so it's definitely a must have in our house.

BreconBeBuggered · 06/12/2016 11:05

Lights. Has to be lights. Not even bothered about the tree if I can have more lights.

ha2el · 06/12/2016 15:13

I know that I can live without a big tree and all it's decorations. But I have to have the net of white lights in the window and the blue light on my shelf and the multi coloured lights in my tree. They cheer me up so much, I wouldn't want to do without them.

With eight grandchildren you can never have enough batteries to wrap up with the powered toys so that they get hours of pleasure without them running out of juice

FlukeSkyeRunner · 07/12/2016 07:28

Christmas isn't about buying things, sorry Homebase! Essential items include good food, good company and fun. Nothing else is essential c

making my own xmas cake it's just so much better than the shop bought ones

debbiew21 · 09/12/2016 19:49

Definitely candles. I have loads and tend to forget them at other times of the year so I go mad with them at Christmas. It is the one thing I missed when the children were tiny as I never dared risk naked flames around them!

Batteries - the lights, the decorations, the childrens toys...everything needs them :-) Even toys you think don't need them ...when your building them on Xmas eve the dreaded sighing "4 AA BATTERIES NEEDED - NOT INCLUDED" haha

jelleng · 13/12/2016 11:09
