With Christmas around the corner, Homebase wants to know all about your festive favourites and the seasonal must-haves you just can’t live without.

Would Christmas without a tree not be Christmas at all? Have your baubles got to be a certain colour to fit in with the rest of the décor? And is there only one style of lighting you could ever have in your home?

Whatever’s essential to you this Christmas, visit homebase.co.uk and post a link below to the products you just can’t live without - and tell us why.

So for a chance to win a £300 Homebase voucher, simply take the survey and add a comment below.

Thanks and good luck,

  1. a real Christmas tree, the smell fills the house. It's an essential part of Christmas for me. We get all the decorations out and decorate it on my birthday in December. We've got lots of different strings of lights and the decorations include ones the DDs made in Nursery, plus they always get a new one each in their stockings to add to the tree.
  1. Reusable Advent calendar - full of chocolates!

A real Christmas tree. You can't beat the smell over the festive season. Big, fat and symmetrical- like Santa 😃. Once Christmas is over we plant the trees in the garden so they live on!

Pam100127 · 24/11/2016 19:43

I love the fire lit on Xmas day. The front door locked and sitting down after we have all had dinner.

Cushions - can't wait to get my Christmas ones out!! Gingerbread men, reindeers, snowy scenes. We get a new one every year - makes the sofa all that more snuggly when opening presents xx

lornies79 · 24/11/2016 20:21

A tree! And tons of decorations. The more colourful the better

rupert23 · 24/11/2016 20:23

we have to have a real christmas tree which is going to be fun as we have a springer puppy but it has to be done!

minesapintofwine · 24/11/2016 20:32

Definitely a warm and cosy fireplace. I have this one www.homebase.co.uk/en/homebaseuk/beldray-pavia-1800w-electric-stove-383017 but in white.

Also, a big glass of Bailey's but they don't sell that in Home base!

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 24/11/2016 20:35

Battery operated tealights for me, please. They are so easy and make any room look cosier and more Christmassy. Also, our local Homebase has a Habitat section and I got a lovely rug from there, which seems to make the room feel much warmer.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 24/11/2016 20:36

Love these little lanterns too.

Cannot do without a welcoming Christmas wreath hanging on the front door. Love them!

A real ceiling-high tree is our biggest essential.

cheekychicken103 · 24/11/2016 20:51

www.homebase.co.uk/en/homebaseuk/dangling-santa-fabric-advent-calendar-372306

I have always been obsessed with advent calendars since I was a small child - I used to just have the picture ones, but literally about 15 of them dotted around the house! Now my kids each get a cheapo chocolate one, a wooden house with a little present in, a picture one and a fabric one - something like the one linked to above - which I fill with Quality St.

For me, Christmas starts on 1st December when the calendars come out, and they are my favourite Christmas essential!

I can't live without my tree but our 1 year old will annihilate the glass decorations we have so these wooden decs will be a life saver!

www.homebase.co.uk/en/homebaseuk/christmas-shop/real-christmas-trees/real-christmas-trees/cut-needlelast-nordman-fir-christmas-tree-4-5ft-321575 A proper tree, a fake tree doesn't smell right. When they invent that I'll get one 🎅
