With Father’s Day coming up, Cadbury’s Buttons have asked us to find out about the everyday shared moments you see between your partner and kids that make you smile.

Is it watching them horse around outdoors? Or seeing them cuddled up on the sofa reading a story? Maybe it’s when you see them do something that makes you realise how alike they are. Whatever the interaction is, let Cadbury’s Buttons know below.

All MNers who post on this thread will be entered into a prize draw where one MNer will win a £300 Love2Shop voucher.

Note: please feel free to share interactions between your children and your wider family or other adults in their lives.

Standard Insight T&Cs apply

Thanks, and good luck!

I'm pregnant with our first child and my husband always has to talk to my growing tummy, either in silly voices or to sing a song.
He has to get up very early for a long commute a few days a week and I have just realised that, very early morning, he crouches down to whisper gently to the baby, instructing it to have a lovely day with your fab mum, and concentrate on growing today. This is when he is sensible and tells it how much it is already loved. He thinks I'm asleep but I had the biggest smile all at when I heard this last week.

Seeing my grown up children all laughing together and now we have a little baby grandson makes it even more special.

WuTangFlan · 23/05/2016 17:50

DH helping the kids with their reading.

mo3733 · 23/05/2016 18:04

bath time is always a special time for my partner to play and converse with the kids.

littleme96 · 23/05/2016 18:12

Watching our kids playing "it" with DH. He becomes a big kid again and the kids run away squealing and laughing with big grins on their faces as he chases them around the park or garden.

rhinosuze · 23/05/2016 19:00

Watching them playing together, I never thought I'd see him playing dolls but she adores it and it's so lovely to watch

mumtowoo1 · 23/05/2016 19:01

When we all have dinner together and we all talk about out day, its great to hear everyones news good or bad

DinosaursRoar · 23/05/2016 19:17

The excited cry of "daddy's home!" When they hear the garage door slam after he's put his bike away.

grumpymummy3 · 23/05/2016 19:51

When they are all playing football together in the garden think he is the biggest kid of the all.

Rishi79 · 23/05/2016 19:58

The only way the little one knows that Daddy is at the door is seeing his fingers through the letter hole. I see the person outside the door by the spy hole and if it is someone else, I tell the little one that mummy is getting the door. But if it daddy, I let her open and even if somedays, he gets busy with his phone calls on the way home and forget to do the routine, She waits patiently at the door until she sees his fingers and if it takes a while, she sings " Do you want to build a snowman...." :) Even I wait everyday for this moment! :) It's just not once everyday - It is every time when Daddy knocks the door :)

just when the tv on and all of a sudden ill look over and they'll both be smiling at the same thing at the same time in unison

alsproject · 23/05/2016 20:15

It makes me smile when I get high fives from my son and daughter

strawberrisc · 23/05/2016 20:21

My daughter's Dad and I are no longer together and he is now married with two other children. However, being great parents to our daughter is the most important thing to us and I appreciate how lucky we are to put any differences aside and we still love watching her grow into a teenager together.

Leeanne2205 · 23/05/2016 20:41

We don't get many family days together as we both work so when we do we always like too spend it together,as kongvas the kids are involved they love it home baking gardening painting I love especially meal times where we sit around the dinner table my 3 yr old sets the table with help from her little brother . We discuss our day and listen too their stories . Hard work but so rewarding feel v lucky and blessed .

My LO & his Daddy love a bit of boy time! Most often, they spend it making a Big Breakfast on a Sunday morning while Mummy has a lie-in.. bliss! I wander down to find my LO spooning beans from the tin into a saucepan & grinning from ear to ear as he tells me what they have prepared! If they aren't cooking, they're racing in the garden, or snuggling up together to watch Adventure Time. Their boy time is special to both of the, & to me, although LO makes it clear that this is his time with Daddy & I have to keep my distance - so I sneak a peek when I can & it makes me so happy to watch Father & Son together ! :)

amylcool · 23/05/2016 21:25

Watching them draw together with DD trying to copy his drawing style.

K3rry · 23/05/2016 23:14

I love seeing my husband put my children to bed, it's so cute

CrapDIL · 24/05/2016 00:42

Ds (14 months) and I wait at the window for DH to get home from work. The grin on his face and the banging on the window when he spots Dada is just fabulous, always makes my day. Think it makes Dada's day too Grin

GiraffesAndButterflies · 24/05/2016 09:27

DD (3) has a habit of picking out the most sickly sweet, cutsie library books (think: "Glitter the Pink Unicorn goes to Rainbow School" type of thing) and making DH read them. He does so with exaggerated enthusiasm while pulling pained faces at me behind her back. She loves it, he hates it but he loves seeing her so happy to read with him Grin

Annbunce · 24/05/2016 10:30

Watching them intently listening to each other about their days...

Andbabymakesthree · 24/05/2016 11:31

I actually asked my daughter this. It is the family cuddles we have in bed. We have a superking. Room for all about to become a bit more of a squeeze when we become a family of five plus the cat!

TheMasterBaker · 24/05/2016 12:38

DD1 & DD2 often make Daddy special pictures or cards for when he comes home from work. DS1, 8 months, turns to look as soon as he hears DH walk through the door, his face lights up with an awesome grin and he starts bouncing with excitement. Makes me go all gooey inside.

Camembertie · 24/05/2016 12:54

After havingback to back mat leave for DS1 and DD my work would not let me reduce my hours but DHs would so he looked after the 2 and 1 year olds himself and endured the ignominy of being the only male at toddler groups/library rhymetime etc.

To ensure I didn't miss out too much he started writing up funny things they both said whilst I was working, including such gems as:

Daddy, my bogey is stuck
Stuck in your nose?
No, my tooth

These have now been laminated to be kept in perpetuity and I am forever thankful for them :)

DCs still reminisce fondly about their Daddy days and they are now 11 and 9!

smudgedlipstick · 24/05/2016 13:15

My two year old daughters new favourite game is what's the time me wolf, and she plays it everyday after dinner with her daddy, she knows she will be tickled and after a couple goes, if he doesn't tickle her, she lifts up her top and says, tickle my belly daddy? Grin it's my favourite thing, they play so well together you can see how much he loves his little girl, and she idolises her daddy

Catsgowoof · 24/05/2016 15:17

Cuddling up at bedtime
