With Father’s Day coming up, Cadbury’s Buttons have asked us to find out about the everyday shared moments you see between your partner and kids that make you smile.

Is it watching them horse around outdoors? Or seeing them cuddled up on the sofa reading a story? Maybe it’s when you see them do something that makes you realise how alike they are. Whatever the interaction is, let Cadbury’s Buttons know below.

All MNers who post on this thread will be entered into a prize draw where one MNer will win a £300 Love2Shop voucher.

Note: please feel free to share interactions between your children and your wider family or other adults in their lives.

Standard Insight T&Cs apply

Thanks, and good luck!

My partner works long hours with an unknown home time (finishes once everything's delivered). Because of this he sometimes misses out on bedtime with our nearly 4 year old son, when he does get home before little legs goes to bed that's their time.
He gets to read the bedtime story and sleepy snuggles and they talk about each other's day.
My son and I have our own special moments in the morning as my partner starts work at 6am. Little legs and I enjoy snuggles in bed and if it's not a school morning sometimes breakfast in bed.
I'm all too aware he won't be little for long so loving the snuggles while I can.

It's seeing the pride and excitment in their faces when they show dad what they have accomplished

Shoulder carries when her little legs are tired on a day out. Dd is almost 5, and has loved being on Daddy's shoulders from about a year old.

She is getting quite heavy these days, but dh never has the heart to turn her down or make her walk. She's travelled miles on those shoulders. Smile

My girls miss their dad when he works night shifts. They race downstairs in the morning when they hear his car pull up and give him the biggest hugs. They always shout "daddies girls"!! They make a fuss even though hes only been in work one night! He loves their dramatic welcome home.

FlukeSkyeRunner · 04/06/2016 18:24

Its when the kids hear dh arrive home from work and can't contain their excitement :)

Subatomickitten · 04/06/2016 18:31

The constant physical contact they maintain when in each other's proximity. They lay together on the sofa, DS leans on DH as they play Xbox, Ds stroking DHs arm when driving in the car. They are stepfather and stepson (bio dad not involved) but they are perfect mimics of each other in mannerisms, tastes, sense of humour etc.

My grandson Isaac who by the way thinks his name is Moofasa (animal mad) call my other half grumpy gorilla and me nanny lion always make me smile coz I wouldn't get away with it

goldenretriever1978 · 05/06/2016 21:27

I like the interaction between them when reading a bedtime story - especially Roald Dahl books - all very cute :)

ladymadonna1 · 06/06/2016 11:38

My partner has made up a little song for our newborn and even though our baby is only 8 weeks, his face lights up whenever Daddy sings him his special song. The smile on his face melts our hearts! If I could freeze one moment in time, this would be it.

My DH is a big cyclist, and he was so excited when our DS was big enough to sit in his bike seat for the first time and try on his little helmet. He looks so proud and responsible carrying him around on the back of his bike. I know he is planning lots of adventures this summer

tabbaz123 · 06/06/2016 12:57

My daughter and husband share the same smile - I know this probably sounds silly but when they both laugh or smile they have perfect timing and I call it a 'gump moment' like in the movie where they both put there heads to one side at the same time

Teabird · 06/06/2016 14:17

My DH is 18 stone and likes to pretend to do weights with our girls, one in each arm. They love it and squeal with laughter. And now we have amazing weather, he chases them with the hose trying to get them! I love listening to all of their giggles. My husbands are usually the loudest.

oceanjanie · 06/06/2016 14:38

Every morning we have tea / coffee / milk in the big bed together and afterwards read stories and play on the bed until it's time to get up. My husband sits with his knees up and our 22-month-old son climbs 'knee mountain' and gleefully tumbles down the other side onto the bed.

Cassieyellow · 06/06/2016 22:09

My daughter is currently potty training and loving her poo accomplishments. Everytime she relates the poo to an animal. So far we have had: snail, snake, worm, and today it was a lion.

Gcalgske · 06/06/2016 22:13

When I've left the baby monitor on and hear him read her a bedtime story. It's soooo adorable. She asks the same questions and he gives the same patient answers every time.

BreadSnakeFridayDog · 06/06/2016 22:13

My husband doesn't read aloud confidently, issues stemming from his childhood. But watching him read to our children is a beautiful experience. He adds his own asides, does the BEST voices and has them all screeching with laughter. We're Going on A Bear Hunt is our favourite, we're going to be quoting from that for years to come!

throwingpebbles · 07/06/2016 08:07

My Dp is their step dad, and I love it when they give him spontaneous cuddles, like when he's leaving for work. Also loved it the other day when there was a huge lightning storm and my boy and dp were watching it out of the window, my little boy cuddled into him and they were both engrossed in watching it

Goldenhandshake · 07/06/2016 11:48

When DD2 (age 2) gets put to bed by DH, she poises at the living room door in a runners stance, grinning, then shouts 'chasey me!' and runs giggling down the hallway whilst DH 'chases' her to bed. it is adorable.

GrooveHeart · 07/06/2016 20:13

Some mornings my OH gets up with my little girl. I love lying in bed hearing them giggling with each other and making up silly games.

rocketriffs · 08/06/2016 09:38

The love that they both have for each other. The little one likes to give cuddles and its lovely to watch, or they could both be talking about their favourite subject of farts which is so funny. DS always ends up laughing his head off. They both like to play "Pull my finger". The laughter between them is priceless. Both happy in each others company which makes me happy too.

Smellophant87 · 08/06/2016 14:28

I love watching them cook together, whenever my partner starts to do anything in the kitchen my son goes storming in and drags a chair over so he can climb up and help - even if it is just making a cup of tea, or buttering toast!

My son, whos 13 gets ready for school, and always comes and gives me a huge hug, and tell me he loves me everyday, before heading off, It always puts a huge smile on my face, as I thought he might be thinking hes getting too old for it, but not as yet, it really makes me love my life and family all the more.

cheryl100 · 09/06/2016 12:25

My son and hubby go fishing together and I love watching them being competitive and congratulating each other!

Jocelynne123 · 09/06/2016 17:13

I don't have a partner but I love seeing the moments between my daughter and her grandad. He is wrapped around her little finger. They love telling cheesy jokes to each other and he loves taking her to the ice cream van when it's the weekend. Hey are very close xx
