With Father’s Day coming up, Cadbury’s Buttons have asked us to find out about the everyday shared moments you see between your partner and kids that make you smile.

Is it watching them horse around outdoors? Or seeing them cuddled up on the sofa reading a story? Maybe it’s when you see them do something that makes you realise how alike they are. Whatever the interaction is, let Cadbury’s Buttons know below.

All MNers who post on this thread will be entered into a prize draw where one MNer will win a £300 Love2Shop voucher.

Note: please feel free to share interactions between your children and your wider family or other adults in their lives.

Thanks, and good luck!

They dad is the active one so I love watching him throw them all over and mess about while they giggle and run back for more.

The first time my little boy started to copy was when his dad was sticking his tongue out at him. Was so cute Smile

It would be in the morning when My DH Wakes everyone for breakfast and he always makes the kids smile by making them toast that looks like a Disney character. They never know what they will have until they come down. Its just something special between them that makes me smile when i see the excitement in their faces.

We love going for picnics in the summer.

The kids got a cuddly monkey toy on holiday, and their Dad named him Chimmy and gave him a voice, now every day the kids ask for a Chimmy story and Daddy has to adopt the squeaky voice he gave to him and make up a whole story!! The kids love it, and it's funny to see him do such a good job of being a monkey!

Seeing my husband read our son his bedtime story

phillie1 · 23/05/2016 08:48

my youngest getting my husband to set up spider barriers at night, so none can get to her in her bed

When DH gets the DDs running about playing football and they all have huge smiles.

one special memory, is a halfterm holiday several years ago. I was away with the childen at the seaside, my husband turned up as a surprise with the dog, and we spent 2 days on a secluded beach . the children loved playing in the water with the dog, he had never seen the sea before and it was great

CMOTDibbler · 23/05/2016 09:09

Every morning my ds comes into our room, sings his morning song (strange song he made up), then launches himself onto DH for a cuddle. Its a lovely part of the day.

When dad teaches the kids some of his skills. Be it gardening, getting grimey with an engine or more recently working with wood.

buddyboy1966 · 23/05/2016 10:19

my sons love their daddy, they follow and copy him, I love it when the three of them go on bike rides together, and come back red cheeked and ready for their tea, chattering away about the adventure they have had, how 'fast' they went, and the 'monsters' they say in the grass. :)

createbeauty · 23/05/2016 10:24

My husband and son love to play fight. My son gets so into it and hearing him laugh when his daddy cries out in [fake] pain makes my heart melt.

helsrodders · 23/05/2016 10:30

My 17 year old daughter still hugs her dad when he gets home from work. She might be growing up but she's not too big for cuddles. I don't think she ever will be, I'm very happy to say, and that makes me smile.

Bedtime silliness! Grin

star1000 · 23/05/2016 10:56

I love seeing them playing in the garden together with no cares in the world, running around, playing with balls, chasing each other and having loads of fun!

Chelsea26 · 23/05/2016 13:39

When DS1 was little DH used to throw him in the air singing Pop goes the Weasel! One of DS1 first words was 'weasel' as he wanted daddy to throw him up and down. Now we have two DS who are 5 and 3 and they still run up to daddy for weasels!

beckyinman · 23/05/2016 13:41

Going around the supermarket and watching the game of things going in and out of the trolley! I'm not sure of the OH or kids are worse at trying to sneak stuff in!

stefalfie11 · 23/05/2016 13:43

When DH comes home from work you can hear the car on the gravel of the drive, DD recognises this noise as daddy coming home and will sit by the front door waiting for him to open it. When he does open it, he scoops her up in his arms and spins her round - she giggles for the next 5 minutes! Its such a lovely moment.

planepointer · 23/05/2016 13:52

Playing together, and getting crawled all over!

helly27 · 23/05/2016 14:08

Listening to them both laugh at you've been framed as they both have the same silly sense of humour.

rachelmi · 23/05/2016 15:14

I love to see my DH and my boys snuggled up on the sofa watching something like Robin Hood (cartoon). They can recite many sections word for word!!!

nerysw · 23/05/2016 16:28

My partner had to go away to work abroad for a few months and every night we used video chat so he could read the entire Faraway Tree trilogy to our children. It was lovely seeing him each night even though he was so far away and the kids loved the funny voices for the characters.

StillNoFuckingEyeDeer · 23/05/2016 16:33

DH has a lot of patience for playing games involving making boats out of the sofa and keeping away from crocodiles. It always makes me smile hearing DD1&2 squealing with delight and shrieking "crocodile!" when they're playing with DH.

Flackgirl · 23/05/2016 16:57

DH has invented a game where he bunny hops across the kitchen towards her while she's sitting in her swing chair. This has her in peals of laughter, and the first time I heard her properly chuckle was during this game. It's adorable.
