With Father’s Day coming up, Cadbury’s Buttons have asked us to find out about the everyday shared moments you see between your partner and kids that make you smile.

Is it watching them horse around outdoors? Or seeing them cuddled up on the sofa reading a story? Maybe it’s when you see them do something that makes you realise how alike they are. Whatever the interaction is, let Cadbury’s Buttons know below.

All MNers who post on this thread will be entered into a prize draw where one MNer will win a £300 Love2Shop voucher.

Note: please feel free to share interactions between your children and your wider family or other adults in their lives.

Standard Insight T&Cs apply

Thanks, and good luck!

I love the way the girls run to the door as soon as they hear dh's key in the lock, and the way he manages to muster up so much enthusiasm for the little things they immediately rush to tell him - even though I know he's shattered after such a long shift.

I love the way he manages to somehow carry them both up the stairs when they're sleeping from a long journey.

I love that they walk on his legs for a £1 each Grin

I love how they pretend his stories are interesting Grin

Dh loves reading the dc bedtime stories, and they love him to do so, even long after they can read for themselves. They save books for him to read to them. And when he's had a long day, I no longer need to ask why the lights aren't out yet - it's because he's fallen asleep while reading and the dc is reading the book!

doctorboo · 24/05/2016 19:51

For me it's when it's bedtime.
DH puts all three (aged 4, 2 and 11 months) to bed (they share a room.) And he reads several stories, sings bedtime songs and gives lots of kisses and cuddles. Extremely smile inducing and heart warming.
The boys all run to bed knowing how nice he makes bedtime for them.

jandoc · 24/05/2016 20:55

its when we pretend to have silly little tiffs about where to go for dinner

Peppassista · 24/05/2016 21:11

Love the expressions on my oldest boy and my partner after a driving lesson. They both have slightly knowing looks - I'm sure it's for different reasons! lol

My kids love dancing with their daddy I love watching them play together

Mner · 24/05/2016 22:40

When DS (4y) helps daddy eg wash the car, check the car oil etc, he gets this big 'I'm doing something important' strut. He's actually starting to be useful so it's extra cute that he enjoys helping out.

I like to sneak a peak at them outside the window.

Melts my heart when I say thank you and he proudly says 'you're welcome'.

ClaretAndBlue30 · 24/05/2016 22:45

My DD (18 months) charges around the house shouting da DA da DA over and over again until she finds him. When she does she is pointing this way and that to 'explain' what it is she wants him to do or see. It's usually a book she wants to read or jigsaw she wants to play with. It's just adorable. Our little lady developing her own little personality Smile

Lately, my 3 and half year old took his daddy on a mystery walk twice in two weeks, the 1st trip was to a relatives house and the second was to the local Playcentre!!! My darling Son had remembered the route which his Dad had absolutely no idea of because he had never been there before!!!Grin

devito92 · 25/05/2016 06:47

Picking my son up after school, because he always jums into my arms when he rushes out of class

ButtonsAndBows · 25/05/2016 08:55

My youngest DS (5) is completely attached to my DH (not his biological dad). Despite being a different ethnicity, he insists he has the same skin colour and eye colour (DHs eyes are brown and DS is pale blue!) and even says he has a beard like DH Grin Sometimes I give them the same clothes (eg jeans and a red t shirt) and when DS realises he completely loses it :) When he comes home from my ex H, he will bypass me and run straight to his "bapu ji" (our word for dad). They are like two peas in a pod.

My gorgeous husband with our two new adopted DD who have been with us for just under a year. Out in the garden holding a rope with our eldest (7) while our youngest (6) skips enthusiastically. We get to the end of a particularly enthusiastic round of jumps. DD2 steps out from the rope turns to DH and announces - 'I love you Daddy, you are Batman'

chrismse · 25/05/2016 10:36

My favourite is when dad first gets home from work, the kids smiles and them running to him. so cute.

AnnieWall27 · 25/05/2016 14:16

Story time is wonderful when we all snuggle together on our bed and read books. I also make up stories about a little girl called Mary that my children help me to tell.
My babies are so young, everyday is full of laughter and fun...and very little sleep. We try to go on adventures, picnics, discovering wildlife, even finding a ladybird brings such joy to their faces.

loosechange · 25/05/2016 17:49

Playing games at the park.
Story time. DH gas always been great at that.

swilsonleach · 25/05/2016 19:56

I love it when my son asks his mum what is for tea he always loves to know and it makes me smile every time.

sweir1 · 25/05/2016 21:28

i sit there and watch them play in the back garden and it is an amazing feeling to hear that laughter

Ferryfairy · 26/05/2016 10:04

My DH has six grown up children, he has such a good relationship with all of them, they come to him with all sorts of problems, including for 'Mum-type' advice. It always makes me glow with pride when I hear his wise words, he always seems to know what their mother would have said, which is obviously a great comfort to them.

angiehoggett · 26/05/2016 10:14

I love it when we're all together as a family, everything just feels right and I'm so contented

1MamaBearseeksBabyBear · 26/05/2016 14:09

My eldest son has autism. My OH is stepfather to my son. When you have a partner who would walk to the ends of the earth for you and children then that is something truly special. Not only does he do normal dad duties but helps with the care of my son. OH will often encourage meet to take a break sometimes, even if its popping to the shops. Its so nice feeling that someone cares. A true blessing.

TheJunctionBaby · 26/05/2016 16:30

DH has coached both DS and DD1's football teams. Watching their interactions both when a game has gone well and when it hasn't is priceless. He is very patient yet passionate about bringing out the best in them and the rest of the team mates

WowOoo · 26/05/2016 16:40

Watching Dh and my eldest play chess together is weird. They look so alike with their deep concentration.
My youngest pulls a pouty face that is very similar to Dh's mood face.

ShelleyM · 26/05/2016 20:11

Before cutting the grass, hubby has taken the little one out to pick the daisies for mummy...now sitting here working with a beautiful bunch of flowers staring at me!

When my DH and DS who is 1.5years playin guitar, it's adorable and hilarious in equal measures. DH playing a full song, really into it and DS bashing away on the strings, turning the machine heads and "singing" along with the tune! It's the best!

Grin
MeLittleDuckie · 26/05/2016 22:28

Doing silly, funny stuff with DS doesn't come naturally to DH so it really made me smile seeing him blowing raspberries on his belly today, and DS loving it Smile
