With Father’s Day coming up, Cadbury’s Buttons have asked us to find out about the everyday shared moments you see between your partner and kids that make you smile.

Is it watching them horse around outdoors? Or seeing them cuddled up on the sofa reading a story? Maybe it’s when you see them do something that makes you realise how alike they are. Whatever the interaction is, let Cadbury’s Buttons know below.

All MNers who post on this thread will be entered into a prize draw where one MNer will win a £300 Love2Shop voucher.

Note: please feel free to share interactions between your children and your wider family or other adults in their lives.

Standard Insight T&Cs apply

Thanks, and good luck!

When my DP ( not the kids' dad) says " hang your coat up "
And when he buys them sweets.

clopper · 21/05/2016 15:50

DD dances round him showing him new routines and trying to get him to join in. He has no real interest or skill with any type of dancing but he always feigns interest and tries to join in.

Watching my partner chasing our 3 year old around making him giggle and allowing him to wrestle with him and play rough and tumble and reading him stories at night even though my partner struggles with some words himself it helps him learn to as my toddler knows the story off by heart and tells him what the word is! He also plays Pokemon on the DS with our teenage Daughter which she loves.

seeing them walk along the road together completely absorbed in conversation. That definitely makes me go all soppy inside!

foxessocks · 21/05/2016 20:37

When my dh is playing with our dd and doing all the voices for her teddies it makes my heart melt! He'll happily do silly squeaky voices for ages and have the silliest conversations with her through her teddies.

cannotmakemymindup · 21/05/2016 20:55

Nighttime storytime hearing the giggles, probably from dd being tickled to. Best sound ever.

Bathtime - DD aged 3 singing the theme tune to the original 60s Spider-Man cartoon series with daddy. So so cute!

ShatnersBassoon · 21/05/2016 23:55

I am eternally grateful every time DH does anything physical with the children. I'm useless at anything sporty or physical, so I get great pleasure from watching DH show them how to do something that would be impossible for me. I'm a brilliant cheerleader though Smile

When they play football out in the garden together its very sweet or when they are play fighting and all i hear is my sons giggles 😄

CraftyPenguin · 22/05/2016 12:51

When my dh sings the songs me and dd learn at our music group, dd loves it. She smiles and laughs as he jumps her around in the air doing all the "movement" bits to go with the song. She absolutely loves that special time of day when daddy comes home and plays with her.

Has to be putting the effort in at bedtime, I always hear lots of giggles and silly stories being made up but they both love it! :)

Marg2k8 · 22/05/2016 18:16

If they smile at each other, it makes me smile. Smiling is infectious.

merlymerly · 22/05/2016 18:27

It makes me smile when they are playing a game of cards together and both cheating!

merlymerly · 22/05/2016 18:31

It makes me smile when my son and husband are playing cards together and both cheating!

spottypjs · 22/05/2016 18:39

When they cuddle up together on the sofa and fall asleep!

maryandbuzz1 · 22/05/2016 18:43

Dancing together always brings a smile to my husbands face and lots of giggles from my son

amanda08 · 22/05/2016 18:54

My hubby and son are currently planning their first dad and son camping trip. They have spent hours shopping for gear, planning their trip etc and it has really helped them bond which has been lovely to see :)

Mozarmstrong · 22/05/2016 19:00

Daddy has a special bingo drums tune for winding his lovely daughter and she loves it pure magic x

MerryMarigold · 22/05/2016 19:03

When they play Rummikub together, love that. Also when they fall asleep together. They both look so vulnerable and at the same time I'm so happy to get time to myself - special moment.

mistywillow17 · 22/05/2016 19:10

In the mornings I bring my 9 month old into bed with us when he wakes, and he is so excited to see his dad. He stares, smiles, squeals and pats him on the head until he gets a response. If his dad is away, he gets really confused and starts looking for him under the pillows. They have such a strong bond that it makes me melt.

LeeR1985 · 22/05/2016 19:10

Storytime when its time for bed. I can hear them both upstairs giggling and having fun. I love it.

vixxx666 · 22/05/2016 19:11

I blow my youngest as kiss as I walk out of the room and he catches it and puts it in his heart. "mummy i put your kiss in my heart to keep me safe" and then he blows me a kiss back for me to catch.

bigbrainybee · 22/05/2016 19:14

Seeing the kids faces when my OH gets in makes me smile so much!

Dencop · 22/05/2016 19:16

The early morning rush in the kitchen for breakfast and bag packing before nursery, school and work. All the throw away remarks about what everyone is doing for the day or hoping to do.. so much anticipation for the day ahead.
