We all know that the kitchen can be a bit chaotic at times. Spills, splashes and stains can leave your kitchen looking a little worse for wear. The team at Thirst Pockets wants to know when have kitchen rolls/towels been your kitchen saviour?

Here’s what they say “Here at Thirst Pockets HQ we endeavour to make our kitchen towel as absorbent as we can to help tackle all those household spills! We are super proud of our new look range featuring Original Thirst Pockets, Our beautiful 'I love my Kitchen' decorated version, Multicloth that's amazingly versatile for cleaning windows & mirrors, leaving a streak free finish and most recently Thirst Pockets Extra Long with the same super absorbency as original but with twice as many sheets ... super absorbency goes on & on.”

So when have kitchen rolls been your kitchen lifesaver? Have they saved your DC from skidding on a water spill on the floor? Perhaps they’ve spared you a heart attack by soaking up a gallon of oil and grease from your chips and roasties? Or maybe they just take the hassle out of cleaning regular towels? However your kitchen roll has been your kitchen lifesaver, Thirst Pockets would love to know.

Everyone who posts on this thread will be entered into a prize draw where one lucky Mumsnetter will win a £300 Love2Shop voucher.

I use kitchen roll to clean spills by my daughter, clean kitchen counters after cooking. Prefer them to cloth any day.

We have a weak seal on our fridge ... we certainly got through a lot of kitchen towels when somebody was a bit careless

when my daughter was constantly sick for her 1st year

janeyf1 · 10/04/2016 09:16

It is a great help everyday when there are often spillages and it helps prevent nasty stains spreading

pixiedust1 · 10/04/2016 09:19

I use my kitchen roll regularly for setting chips, fried food (bacon/sausage) and wet lettuce on and also as napkins.
It is also very useful for mopping up juice/drink spills and other nastiness (its a lifesaver for vomit -yes gross, but you can have a plastic bag beside you and just put it straight in the bag and outside in the bin)

Scooping up the goop that accumulates in the pughole in my sink.

Cleaning fat from the frying pan before placing in the dishwasher.

Picking up cat sick (although I have to wait until it stops being warm). Picking up dead rodents (presents from cat).

Cleaning stainless steel hob.

Patting dry food stuffs like chicken. Cleaning up after preparing raw meat.

Wiping mushrooms.

Cleaning windows and bathroom tiles.

Don't ask me how I managed to do it but I opened the washing machine door whilst it was full of water and it all poured out. I had a four roll pack of paper towels with three rolls in it under the kitchen sink and used them all to dry it up (it would have been cheaper using a large towel but when something like that springs itself on you, you just grab the first thing that comes to hand).

emmfurn · 10/04/2016 09:44

I use them to buff taps after cleaning to give a great shine :)

Nettie17 · 10/04/2016 09:47

I was making some baby dinners and when I came to blend them the lid wasn't on properly and it went everywhere. Luckily kitchen towels came to the rescue and I was able to clean it up in no time at all

maryandbuzz1 · 10/04/2016 10:01

I use it when cleaning my windows!

prwilson · 10/04/2016 10:03

When one of the cats brings in a mouse or bird and deposits it somewhere in the house - kitchen towels are essential to aid removal and cleaning.

Catching a spider on the kitchen window without having to actually touch it.

wjanice121 · 10/04/2016 10:37

When cleaning your toilet.
As long as you buy a good quality kitchen roll you can wet it, use spray bathroom cleaner on it, give your toilet a good scrub then simply dispose of it. Don't need to wash soiled cloths afterwards.

jt75 · 10/04/2016 10:47

I dropped a tin of red paint on the floor and the top shot off.
