We all know that the kitchen can be a bit chaotic at times. Spills, splashes and stains can leave your kitchen looking a little worse for wear. The team at Thirst Pockets wants to know when have kitchen rolls/towels been your kitchen saviour?

Here’s what they say “Here at Thirst Pockets HQ we endeavour to make our kitchen towel as absorbent as we can to help tackle all those household spills! We are super proud of our new look range featuring Original Thirst Pockets, Our beautiful 'I love my Kitchen' decorated version, Multicloth that's amazingly versatile for cleaning windows & mirrors, leaving a streak free finish and most recently Thirst Pockets Extra Long with the same super absorbency as original but with twice as many sheets ... super absorbency goes on & on.”

So when have kitchen rolls been your kitchen lifesaver? Have they saved your DC from skidding on a water spill on the floor? Perhaps they’ve spared you a heart attack by soaking up a gallon of oil and grease from your chips and roasties? Or maybe they just take the hassle out of cleaning regular towels? However your kitchen roll has been your kitchen lifesaver, Thirst Pockets would love to know.

Everyone who posts on this thread will be entered into a prize draw where one lucky Mumsnetter will win a £300 Love2Shop voucher.

I suffer from rheumatoid arthritis so I'm always dropping cups & glasses so kitchen towels are always a lifesaver for me

My dozy brother who I live with knocked over a jar of garlic in white wine vinegar a few days ago and the lid popped off and went everywhere. Thankfully the kitchen towels soaked up the vinegar and then I scooped up the garlic into the bin. Still had to get down and clean it with soap and water to stop the kitchen stinking of garlic though!

I love kitchen roll especially for cleaning windows and glass furniture as it leaves no fibres, it was my life saver when our dogs were in the middle of toilet training as kitchen roll was great to clean up any accidents!

I know many times when spilt milk on the table or floor kitchen roll has come in very handy

Mrsboathook · 10/04/2016 14:55

We are potty training. Kitchen roll invaluable!!!

I fold a few sheets up and lay it on the bathroom floor underneath the toilet cistern to catch the condensation drops during the cold winter. It stops a puddle forming and getting any mold issues and can be changed quickly and easily.

All of the time, my husband can't make a cuppa without a spillage :P

My son of 29 has returned home after travelling for six months......but so have the spillages we knew when he was very young! Kitchen roll is always to hand whenever he eats with us.

My daughter vomited all over herself on Tuesday, all over the floor and the living room rug (needed to bin that!) I was mopping up the sick with kitchen roll and she calmly sat and ate more of her cottage pie (which she then vomited all over my trouser leg!)

stefalfie11 · 10/04/2016 15:40

When we were toilet training our labrador! Overall he was really good but we still had a few accidents and wherever we went anywhere for the first few months including friends houses or public transport, i'd carry a wad of kitchen roll with me...just incase!

tabbaz123 · 10/04/2016 16:03

I would not be without my kitchen towels!! I actually have a roll in kitchen and in the living room - I use them for napkins and initial cleaning up of anything!

Kannet · 10/04/2016 16:06

When I dropped a full bottle of Ribina. That was fun to clean up

tiddles12 · 10/04/2016 16:10

Used Regina kitchen roll to clean up toddler poo on the kitchen floor this morning- nice ad thick! (the towel that is)

abbyscomps · 10/04/2016 16:22

Kitchen tower are literally a life saver ! I work at a wildlife hospital and we use so much of it in the orphaned animal season, especially baby birds. These always sleep snuggled on a kitchen tower nest as it keeps them warm and dry :)

rachelmi · 10/04/2016 16:27

My husband is a very enthusiastic cook and also very messy!! Kitchen towels are invaluable to mop up the kitchen floor and worktops around him.

MAForster · 10/04/2016 16:49

When the dishwasher leaked (because a mouse had bitten through the outlet hose!)

lu44cy · 10/04/2016 16:50

Whenever I chop fruit / veg to soak up the water from them

Leyanpark · 10/04/2016 16:56

When my cat throw up hairballs all over the kitchen floor with bits of cat sick. I was lucky to have some kitchen roll to hand to clear up the mess

JoJoBaldwin · 10/04/2016 17:06

They are brilliant for cleaning the oil off baking trays and frying pans before washing up. I also like to sprinkle them with tea tree oil and pop them inside whiffy trainers overnight!

FlukeSkyeRunner · 10/04/2016 17:08

The incident that springs to mind us when dd1 pulled a bottle of wine onto the tiles floor... The kitchen roll was the first thing I grabbed to clean it up.

pennwood · 10/04/2016 17:23

A St. Bernard puppy in the house = big dog complete with slobber apart from the usual puppy little problems, so towels are a life saver!

KAKADU2001 · 10/04/2016 17:50

Lifesavers, especially when we have our two youngest 6 and 7 year old Grandsons staying with us during holidays. No matter how many times they are told not to squeeze their fruit juices they do and shoot sticky sugary liquid all over the kitchen floor. Paper towels are great for such accidents.

libra101 · 10/04/2016 17:51

I've found Thirst Pockets to be a life saver on many occasions.

Cleaning surplus mud off carpet when our little dog has just charged in with messy paws! They're great for placing on a plate, and draining fat or oil from roasties, mushrooms, etc before serving.

Also a real life saver for cleaning messy floors. If you dampen them a little, Thirst Pockets are strong enough to give a quick clean to bathroom floors and tiles.

amanda08 · 10/04/2016 17:52

My son gets travel sickness and (not connected) regular nose bleeds! So I always have a roll in my car plus a pile in my handbag as they are much better then tissues when dealing with either of these things!

poxx · 10/04/2016 17:55

Allways have them handy in surgery-great swabs.
