  1. send the kids to granny and grandad' house.

  2. After a good cleansing routine, banish the OH to the spare room by putting a sheet mask on, thereby scaring him witless or declaring you as some kind of witch. Buy a silk pillowcase, it's apparently better for the skin. Put this on your pillow, chill in your mask for a bit and read. Revel in the fact there's nobody to bother you.

With him taking his snoring elsewhere you can spread across the bed, sleep well and with moisturiser skin awake looking and feeling bright eyed and bushy tailed.

Nothing scientific from me, just basic stuff. I have a small glass of water before bed, clean face and lightweight night cream, Vaseline on lips and that's it.
Oh I do have a clean pillow case every couple of days, I love the freshness of it when going to sleep.

MrsMarigold · 07/04/2016 17:47

Window open, good diet, water no booze, fags or make-up left on.

Toots38 · 07/04/2016 18:33

I double cleanse, apply a face oil and get into bed as early as I can. By 10pm at the latest. I love going to bed earlier though with a hot water bottle! No caffeine after 3 if possible and try not to drink much alcohol.

northdownmummy · 07/04/2016 19:48

More water than wine and a night without the kids are both sure fire ways of getting more sleep and banishing those bags

BananaDaiquiri · 07/04/2016 20:00

I wish I knew! Probably just a good night's sleep, but I haven't had one since DD2 came along 3 years ago.

Nigglenaggle · 07/04/2016 21:05

Get a good 8 hrs uninterrupted sleep each night.
Don't have children!!!

ohlittlepea · 07/04/2016 21:29

Hydration and sleep :)

snowplop · 07/04/2016 22:51

Yy to removing every trace of eye makeup.

For me, curtains that let the light in rather than black out blinds mean a much gentler wake up.

A bath before bed and climbing into fresh bed linen, in combination with the above, is definitely the best way for me to wake up feeling refreshed.

beautyadoration · 08/04/2016 00:58

Make sure you avoid any electronic devices for at least an hour before bed. I don't drink caffeine past 6pm because it makes me very jittery and awake. Aim for at least 2 litres of water each day. A few hours before bed, cleanse your skin to wash away the day and use your skincare products making sure not to forget an eye cream!
Invest in good quality bedding and go to bed early as a good nights sleep is the best thing for waking up with clear bright eyes.

Kummerspeck · 08/04/2016 01:16

Remove all makeup but make sure that your remover and eye cream are not too greasy or your eyes will puff. Get lighter products that do the job but don't clog you up around the eye area and keep night cream off that area too

Doilooklikeatourist · 08/04/2016 07:24

All make up removed , every night

Drink lots of tap water
Dont drink too much wine
Eat fruit for breakfast [ I dont know why , but this works for me ]

FuckYouChrisAndThatHorse · 08/04/2016 07:59

No caffeine after 2pm. Plenty of caffeine-free tea though.

No screens for at least an hour before bed.

A long hot bath, with a good facial scrub, followed by a lovely rich moisturiser. Fall in to clean sheets that dh has kindly popped on the bed whilst you relaxed. Fall asleep smiling (for the good type of wrinkles).

Lovewhereilive · 08/04/2016 08:02

Lots of sleep, no alcohol, lots of water - the life of a monk basically.

janney3 · 08/04/2016 09:04

Early to bed and early to rise. Drink lots of hot water with lemon added.
Minimal alcohol. Clean pillowcase every night.

CopperPan · 08/04/2016 12:42

A decent mattress makes all the difference - recently changed our ten year old one and I've slept much better since. Rotate and turn it regularly to keep it in good condition.
I use a white noise app sometimes to help me get to sleep as well. Making sure I have enough exercise during the day helps.

CalloftheHaunted · 08/04/2016 12:52

Leave the husband at home with the children and check yourself into a hotel for the night for a rest! Otherwise keep well hydrated, good diet, no alcohol, and plenty of sleep.

WalkThePlank0 · 08/04/2016 14:33

Be happy.

Do I win?

Twitterqueen · 08/04/2016 14:54

Exercise and early nights! I'd like to say no alcohol but I can't vouch for that myself.....

flanjabelle · 08/04/2016 15:21

I wake up feeling brighter if I have drunk a glass of water before bed, gone to bed at a reasonable time and made sure I cleansed toned and moisturised before bed.

prettybird · 08/04/2016 17:33

Definitely bed well before midnight with no iPhone/iPad in the bedroom (leave them to charge in another room). You can read a bit in bed until your eyes get droopy but lights out by midnight.

Plenty of water during the day.

Seems to help with weight loss as well as bright eyedness.

kierie · 08/04/2016 19:11

Drink water, have an early night and don't have kids!

GooodMythicalMorning · 08/04/2016 20:23

Simply just drink a lot of water.

FaFoutis · 08/04/2016 20:51

Be rich and lucky so you don't have to do anything you don't want to do, and you have nothing to worry about.

I'm not sure about these water tips. If I drink a lot of water I will be up in the night needing the toilet. Then I will get insomnia from dark thoughts and will look like shit in the morning.

CointreauVersial · 08/04/2016 22:29

Go to bed on time!! I'm terrible at this, always finding something "important" to do MN when I should be in bed.

Much easier to wake up bright-eyed in the summer, though - open the curtains and let the early sunshine in.
