After waking up this morning and wondering why my eyes felt puffy and gritty, I'd suggest remembering to take off all your makeup the night before would be a great idea! Grin
I love double cleansing using an eye makeup remover and oil to start then a cream cleanser with a hot cloth.
The eye cream and face oil or night cream. Or sometimes both of my skin is tired or dry!
Clean face=non- gritty eyes in the morning!

JJJHeimerSchmidt · 06/04/2016 11:11

I get dark circles under my eyes no matter how much sleep I get. It's a genetic thing for me, probably related to having chronic hayfever. How one might be related to the other, I don't know, but that is what my mom told me ages ago.

So, my pro-tip is have a good undereye concealer to hand. Grin I've also found the Boots cucumber eye gel can be soothing for extra puffy days, especially if I remember to keep it in the fridge.

YY to taking off eye makeup before going to bed, especially if wearing waterproof mascara.

Trying not to drink too much (or any) alcohol helps immensely too.

RavioliOnToast · 06/04/2016 11:24

At least 8hours sleep and a pint of water before bed Grin

campocaro · 06/04/2016 12:02

Cleanse, no alcohol, enough sleep, no long term stress...in my dreams! -please give me some Liz Earle Goodies!

Anj123 · 06/04/2016 12:04

Apply eye gel or cream very lightly with your ring finger as skin round the eye is very delicate. Get enough sleep and drink lots of water!

MummyBtothree · 06/04/2016 12:42

Drink lots and lots of water
Avoid eye-strain
Always use good quality make-up
Always take off your make-up using a good quality cleanser especially for around the eye area & use a moisturising cream for the delicate skin around the eyes.
Avoid smoking/caffeine/alcohol.
Balanced diet
Plenty of sleep!.

LazySusan11 · 06/04/2016 14:03

No caffeine after 6pm
2 litres of water, I make up a bottle and put different fruits inside, lemon, mint, pomegranate.
Take off your make up as soon as you get home.
Run a bath, light a candle and have a soak taking some good deep breaths to release the day and mentally switch off.
Clean bedding
A lovely pet to cuddle Smile

Gcalgske · 06/04/2016 16:06

Drink lots of water, get lots of sleep, don't eat sugar or drink coffee.... My eyes are so much brighter if I do this but I'm a mum so I usually just have to resort to lots of touché eclat...

Tillii · 06/04/2016 16:34

I'm afraid I rarely take off my mascara. I sleep on my back, I don't drink alcohol, I eat clean and I use natural homemade skin products. I'm over 50 and eyes look fine in the morning. ConfusedBlush

CandyFlossBrain · 06/04/2016 17:07

Sleep on your back if you can! I used to wake up with puffiness around my left or right eye, and eventually twigged that it was related to which side I'd slept on!

Mrsmonkeymoo1 · 06/04/2016 18:37

Early nights, plenty of water and no caffeine in the evening works for me. Also a few child free evenings definitely helps me lol

MustBeThursday · 06/04/2016 20:09

No caffeine in the evening...

...and leave the toddler with the grandparents.

Starlingsintheslipstream · 06/04/2016 20:15

Go to bed earlier is the only thing that might work for me - I definitely need to take this advice.
I'm beginning to feel hay fever coming on so am waking up with puffy, sore eyes anyway at the moment.

MrsS1990 · 06/04/2016 20:27

Since commenting on here I've come down with an eye infection haha. Sad

JanieLovesLuckySocks · 06/04/2016 20:57

Take your make up off and get to bed!!! A good double cleanse and a splash of cool water and an early night always works in my favour. Sadly the latter doesn't always happen

SmallBee · 06/04/2016 21:10

Drink at least 1/3 of a litre of water before breakfast.
Make DH get up in the night with the kids.
No screens at least half an hour before bedtime and have one of the apps on your phone that dims the screen.
Try and get fresh fruit and veg in your diet.

del2929 · 06/04/2016 21:57

lots of water and a steam facial once a week and you cant go wrong!

31weeksgone · 06/04/2016 22:51

A cold face cream from the fridge, apply under eyes. Instant brightness and you feel awake from the cold!

ahigney · 07/04/2016 12:24

Best tip is not to drink too much coffee or tea few hours before bed,no alcohol and have some warm milk. Also a good eye cream would be great. Camomile tea bags on your eyelids or cucumber slices,in the evening are nice and relaxing.Gentle makeup remover will help as well.

lesley37 · 07/04/2016 12:27

Early nights in a well ventilated room

No caffeine in the evening and good curtains to block out the early sunrise (in the summer!) otherwise I'm tired but wide awake

ldt87 · 07/04/2016 15:56

Drink lots of water, take all your make up off before bed and get as much sleep as possible. My little boy currently allows me approximately 4 hours a night as he's poorly so could probably do with some cosmetic help!

Melfique · 07/04/2016 16:16

Drink water or a calming herbal tea ( I love Tulsi tea). Following a nightime ritual consisting of :
Shower or bathe in candlelight.
Cleanse and moisturise face.
Massage body with oil or moisturiser.
Put on sleep inducing music on your phone. Remember to put it on a timer so it turns off.

EyesOfABlueDog · 07/04/2016 17:29

Drink loads of water.
Use a silk pillowcase to help face be less squashed looking in morning.
Don't drink alcohol.
Try & get a good night's sleep.
Take off all your make-up.
Try not to rub your eyes too much - I wear contacts & sometimes I claw at my eyes once they're out & can't stop!
