We can’t always wake up looking as bright eyed as we’d like. From the children keeping you awake, to staying up late to watch your favourite show or checking your Facebook (or Mumsnet!) account, it can all take a toll on us come morning.

Here’s what Liz Earle say “We are proud to announce that our secret for visibly brighter eyes, NEW Superskin™ Eye Cream, has arrived. This luxuriously hydrating new innovation features a powerful botanical blend which helps to visibly lift and firm, while also reducing the appearance of dark circles and puffiness. Used regularly, eyes appear brighter, refreshed and wide awake. Available now"! Check out the new Superskin™ eyecream here.

So, what are your top tips for waking up looking bright eyed? Do you leave the iPad, laptops and phones downstairs when you go to bed? Maybe you have a no-caffeine policy after dinner? Or maybe it’s as simple as getting a good night’s sleep. Whatever secret you turn to to help you wake up feeling fresh, Liz Earle wants to know it.

Everyone who posts on the thread with their tips will be entered into a prize draw where one lucky Mumsnetter will win the complete Liz Earle Superskin™ range, worth £305*. The range includes:

Use an eye mask!

timeforabrewnow · 09/04/2016 09:10

Less coffee and alcohol, more water!

serendipity1980 · 09/04/2016 09:55

always remove make up at night, keep hydrating with water and a relaxing cup of herbal tea before bed, also get plenty of sleep - I go to bed at 10pm. Eat healthy as possible too!

I have trouble "switching off" and my mind can run, keeping me awake until the wee hours. So in addition to a simple but decent skincare routine good products, but not too many of them / too time consuming I try to find 10/15 minutes before bedtime to do some gentle yoga / stretching and breathing. Nothing at all acrobatic, just relaxing physically and calming the mind, or trying to at least. Then in the morning I try to do some active stretching for the same amount of time, but that's a bit harder to fit in around the busy morning routine.

Glass of water before bed and one when you wake up, staying hydrated is very important. Also leaving all electronics out of the bedroom is a good habit.

Sammyislost · 09/04/2016 21:00

Go to bed early! Going to sleep late is always so so bad for my energy for the whole next day, and I swear I look worse for it too.

Also - silk pillowcases have made my hair soooo much more manageable I have more time to care for my skin and eyes the next morning!

I LOVED using the Liz Earle serum recently, it's run out, would love to try some more!

Sleep and no alcohol. And lots of water.

PB01 · 09/04/2016 23:25

I don't think I've slept in 10 years. With 4 children having at least 4 hours of sleep at night is a blessing! The key to waking up refreshed? Hide all mirrors so you can't see how bad you look!
Other than that, plenty of water to keep you hydrated, a healthy juice to help detox and cleanse your body, a good moisturiser to cleanse your skin, and most importantly........an eye mask (to keep out the light and stop you frowning.......and also to pretend you're sleeping so your husband has to get up for the kids!)

CotswoldStrife · 09/04/2016 23:35

Cleanse, tone and moisturise - pick clothes for following morning so there is no mad rush to find things - turn off all screens half an hour before the time you want to go to bed so you don't sit up until the early hours mumsnetting.

northender · 09/04/2016 23:40

Sleep with window slightly open & no heating on overnight (at any time of year)

hdh747 · 10/04/2016 03:02

Jasmine oil to help me sleep and sweet orange oil to help me wake up.

pockledigg · 10/04/2016 04:47

Get a 'set' bedtime/wake up time and stick to it whether it's weekends, holidays, whatever, as changing the routine does you no good at all (mine is bed at 8pm and wake at 4am but I'm a bit strange). No drinks at all for at least 3 hours before bed and no caffeine for at least 6 hours before bed.

sweir1 · 10/04/2016 07:14

Keep it simple, nice bath followed by a good read

pusinky · 10/04/2016 07:22

Good night sleep and keep your skin moisturised.

AdoraBell · 10/04/2016 07:28

No tips, sorry, just looking for advice following a night of zero sleep after a long flight.

Am quite sure I do not look bright eyed and well rested.

TracyKNixon · 10/04/2016 07:30

Put your alarm across the room. If it’s right next to you, you’ll hit the snooze button. So put it on the other side of the room, so you’ll have to get up (or jump up) to turn it off. Then, get into the habit of going straight to the bathroom for a wee once you’ve turned it off. Once you’re done weeing, you’re much less likely to go back to bed!

glenka · 10/04/2016 08:00

I always find using Aloe Vera gel that has been in the frigde is very soothing to wake me up when I am tired.

gin33333 · 10/04/2016 08:16

HAVING A HOT BUBBLE BATH BEFORE BED RELAXES THE MUSCLES FOR A PEACEFUL ENDURING SLEEP IN THE MORNING YOU WILL BE ALERT AND REJUVANATED

mave · 10/04/2016 08:19

No screens at least 1-2 hours before bed, read a good book. I don't drink much tea and coffee but have lots of water and rarely binge drink anymore since having kids, you just have to go to bed early!!!

bridge16 · 10/04/2016 08:24

I stopped drinking caffeine after 2pm each day :-)

mrssmooth · 10/04/2016 08:31

Take all your make up off before bed (I use a hot cloth cleansing method with a bamboo facecloth which is slightly thicker and less scratchy than the muslin ones), use a nice moisturiser. I try to keep regular bedtimes and getting up times - doesn't always work :( Lie-ins are over rated anyway!!

Carnival · 10/04/2016 08:33

Pilates gives me good zzzs Smile

Annbunce · 10/04/2016 08:37

Get up when the alarm first goes off instead of keep hitting the snooze button.

Make sure you take off your make up the night before and moisturise before you go to bed, drink plenty of water and aim to get about 7-8 hours sleep.

barbsbarbs · 10/04/2016 08:39

I drink an awful lot of water and I always make sure that i sleep well but having a calm environment in my bedroom, soft lighting, fresh air and cosy covers.

AnimalAddict · 10/04/2016 08:45

Avoid caffeine at night time and sleep in a cool dark room :)
