We have made it through the wintery months, but we’re not free from drizzly days just yet. It really is a struggle to feel good in the wind and rain, so nice ‘n easy would love you to share the things that you do to make yourself feel at your best.

Here’s what nice ‘n easy have to say: “The beginning of the year is often gloomy, Christmas is long gone and the days are short and dark. But with Spring just around the corner, and sun just a promise away, it’s time to get out and give yourself a lighter, sunkissed look. ‘As we have more sunny days our skin tone warms up and therefore your hair colour needs to adjust to complement it. Going one or two shades lighter softens the darker tones we have often used during the winter. It’s all about having a natural look, as if your hair has been kissed by the Spring sunshine’ says our colour expert colour expert Jonathan Long”

So, is a hot bath with some posh candles just what you need to perk yourself up in the dark winter months? Perhaps you like to learn a new skill or get involved in an evening class? Do you brighten yourself up by changing your hair colour, or by starting a new skin routine to give yourself a glow? Whatever it is that you do to boost your confidence, let nice ‘n easy know.

Please add your comment or tip below and you'll be entered into a prize draw where one MNer will win a £300 Love2Shop gift voucher.

When Im not feeling at my best, I like to have a long soak, wash my hair and put a little makeup on, mascara, and clean hair always make me feel better.

Making sure my clothes are classics and comfortable gives me more confidence around people.

Well there are things I do to unwind, things I do to enjoy myself, things I do because if I didn't do them people would think I was being weird, and so on. But actually, boosting my confidence brings to mind something that's really been one of my life's major tasks, due to the conditions in which I was raised, and that's developing healthy self-esteem. The self-knowledge and acceptance I got from good therapy has helped a lot. Internet research too, about all sorts of different topics, from co-dependency to addiction (food in my case), to learn how to stop blaming myself for so much and doing myself down. I also re-discovered a sense of spirituality that I used to have years ago when I was young, having subsequently spent quite a long period with nebulous agnostic/atheist leanings. Part of this spirituality is believing that we are all equal as human beings, and one thing this means is that it's OK to be myself; that there's nothing wrong with or bad about me deep down. There might be things about myself I'd like to change, but that's different. And yes, I'm finding that I am more confident these days, and my stress levels are dropping. It's great learning how to feel good about myself because I am being genuine, rather than because I am hiding behind a mask due to a fear of being judged, ridiculed or rejected, though I think this will always be a challenging thing to do.

If you are happy and living your life the way you want too then do not worry what other people think of you, it is not worth a second thought. :)

sianihedgehog · 06/03/2016 03:59

I find not giving a single solitary fuck about what other people think works wonders.

pockledigg · 06/03/2016 04:26

Listening to music. I find it really lifts me and it's great to listen to some of your favourite tunes before a stressful event like an interview-really puts a spring in my step!

tiameg · 06/03/2016 06:23

New underwear does it for me! Yes, I know no one else can see it but I just can't explain it - new underwear makes me feel more confident.

AnimalAddict · 06/03/2016 06:37

Getting my hair done or dressing up is always a great boost :)

inspiron42 · 06/03/2016 07:47

Doing exercise or listening to music.

ThemisA · 06/03/2016 08:01

Try and put together an outfit that flatters your figure and face and then you can return to it whenever you feel a little low. A good perfume. Then a bit of self talk reminding yourself that you can and have coped, the key people in your life love you and they are who really matter. I always remind myself I have enough and am good enough.

createbeauty · 06/03/2016 08:14

A good workout usually makes me feel confident and happy.

seeingdouble2 · 06/03/2016 08:35

Tell your self that you are a bright strong sexy independant woman, learn to smile from the inside for that smile to appear on the out side.

BizziLiz · 06/03/2016 08:53

Looking good leads to feeling good - that's not necessarily glamming yourself up and clarting on the makeup, but taking care of your appearance by wearing clean and tidy clothes and combing your hair. If there's no-one around to pay you compliments, then look in the mirror, smile, and say to yourself: 'Looking good today!' (If you're really polite you can thank yourself for the compliment.)

stimpy1 · 06/03/2016 09:19

Pamper yourself with a nice bath, paint your nails and get lots of sleep. Be thankful you have your health and smile

suzyq50 · 06/03/2016 09:43

I have a manicure & pedicure a couple if times a month as a treat. Also new underwear I find gives me a little boost.

Eat a load of chocolate!

grumpymummy3 · 06/03/2016 10:33

Never go out with my make up on. Then nice nails, getting my hair coloured and heels to make me look taller than I actually am.

pusinky · 06/03/2016 11:07

Believe in yourself - take a day during the week where you just do the things you like.

samcornfield · 06/03/2016 12:00

Do your hair - I always feel more confident if my hair is done.

xXTechehXx · 06/03/2016 12:04

Having a manicure makes me feel confident.

LuckyBluie · 06/03/2016 12:09

Invest in some expensive makeup and find your signature scent!

birdling · 06/03/2016 12:58

Buying a new shampoo or shower gel (posh one) makes me feel more confident because I can smell it all day. I stop smelling my usual one after a while, so then I have to change it again.
