We have made it through the wintery months, but we’re not free from drizzly days just yet. It really is a struggle to feel good in the wind and rain, so nice ‘n easy would love you to share the things that you do to make yourself feel at your best.

Here’s what nice ‘n easy have to say: “The beginning of the year is often gloomy, Christmas is long gone and the days are short and dark. But with Spring just around the corner, and sun just a promise away, it’s time to get out and give yourself a lighter, sunkissed look. ‘As we have more sunny days our skin tone warms up and therefore your hair colour needs to adjust to complement it. Going one or two shades lighter softens the darker tones we have often used during the winter. It’s all about having a natural look, as if your hair has been kissed by the Spring sunshine’ says our colour expert colour expert Jonathan Long”

So, is a hot bath with some posh candles just what you need to perk yourself up in the dark winter months? Perhaps you like to learn a new skill or get involved in an evening class? Do you brighten yourself up by changing your hair colour, or by starting a new skin routine to give yourself a glow? Whatever it is that you do to boost your confidence, let nice ‘n easy know.

Please add your comment or tip below and you'll be entered into a prize draw where one MNer will win a £300 Love2Shop gift voucher.

Ban the bathroom scale. It eats confidence.

I feel more confident when I am being healthy and taking care of myself and watching what I eat in general. The trousers seem a bit loser and I don't feel like a bloated whale. I feel unconfident at this time of year when I have been siting on my bum since Christmas and I have been doing no exercise and eating badly... yes... I really must get on it! :)

I feel more confident when I think about what I'm eating. I find as the weather gets warmer I tend to eat less and I'm also outside in the garden more just pottering about which I think helps my skin .

I don't tie my confidence levels in with how I look. When I need to feel more confident I act more confident and call a friend for a coffee or a night out, cheers me up in the dark winter months more than putting chemicals in my hair!

Washing and drying my hair and adding a bit of curl at the ends with my straighteners takes about 20 mins max.
But I feel so much more confident leaving the house like that with a bit of mascara and lip balm than I ever do going out with my wet hair tied up in a messy bun!

So if I get up just a few minutes earlier it really sets me up for the day.
I must try to remember that when the alarm goes off!!

Go to the gym or the park and work up a sweat

Excellent, stimulating company and a healthy dose of laughter works for me every time.

Having my hair cut (or even just having the time to wash & style it!!)

Wearing clean, ironed, well fitted clothes (not always the case!)

Managing to do my make up well (again, not always the case!)

Having a good nights sleep

Healthy eating / plenty of water

(I have 2 very young DC - it's not always easy!!!!!)

Getting ready to go out still gives me a buzz- hair, make-up, clothes etc.

I have a 6 month old, and it can be hard to feel confident about the way I look post baby. I put a little bit of mascara and eyeliner on every day, so I look a little put together, even with the extra weight and the sick down my top!

To gain confidence, I will do

  1. Phone up a friend to say 'hello'
  2. Practise yoga early in the morning to have s fresh start
  3. Rolling on the floor with kids to have a giggle
  4. Make a new hairdo before turning up at work
  5. Follow my favourite 'Colour Me Beautiful' book to dress myself in graceful colour

That will do the trick for me!

I have a 4 month old baby, and the best thing I've done so far is go and get some new stylish 'feel' type glasses and some new Breton mummy tops. On the mornings after a late night, throw hair up in a bun, make sure to get dressed even if just t-shirt and jeans and finish off the look with bold glasses. It means it's possible to go out of the house that day rather than just wearing pj's and getting lonely! X

I always feel better when my hair is freshly washed , blown and is shiny !
I also have on my iphone a list of all my achievements in my life and when I need a 'pick me up' I read this aloud and say to myself "I am powerful and confident" A trick I learned at Summer School in my twenties. Works every time ! Try it

My confidence depends on my mood. I can do my hair and make up 'perfectly' and still feel like I want to hide away.
If I need a boost, I have a cup of tea and spend time with or talk to someone who loves me just the way I am.

I don't wear make up so for me looking more polished means styling my hair. Nothing fancy just a blow dry and straightened. Makes me feel more confident in my appearance.

I don't wear make up either but I like my hair to look nice. I'm continually changing its color. The main thing I do to make sure I stay happy and energized is to get out and about. Going for a long walk through the countryside with friends or family always makes me feel great.

No matter how little I feel like it, exercise always puts a spring in my step and a bloom on my cheeks. So get those trainers on and get out, even if it's only for 20 minutes, it is guaranteed to lift my mood.

At work, a cup of tea and a giggle with my colleagues starts the day off on a high.

Use mouthwash and lip gloss and ask people about themselves and listen to them and gently prompt them to continue. Most people need a chance to talk about themselves, their families and so on. You don't have to be nosey. It's enough to start with 'How are you?'
