We have made it through the wintery months, but we’re not free from drizzly days just yet. It really is a struggle to feel good in the wind and rain, so nice ‘n easy would love you to share the things that you do to make yourself feel at your best.

Here’s what nice ‘n easy have to say: “The beginning of the year is often gloomy, Christmas is long gone and the days are short and dark. But with Spring just around the corner, and sun just a promise away, it’s time to get out and give yourself a lighter, sunkissed look. ‘As we have more sunny days our skin tone warms up and therefore your hair colour needs to adjust to complement it. Going one or two shades lighter softens the darker tones we have often used during the winter. It’s all about having a natural look, as if your hair has been kissed by the Spring sunshine’ says our colour expert colour expert Jonathan Long”

So, is a hot bath with some posh candles just what you need to perk yourself up in the dark winter months? Perhaps you like to learn a new skill or get involved in an evening class? Do you brighten yourself up by changing your hair colour, or by starting a new skin routine to give yourself a glow? Whatever it is that you do to boost your confidence, let nice ‘n easy know.

Please add your comment or tip below and you'll be entered into a prize draw where one MNer will win a £300 Love2Shop gift voucher.

Wearing a patterned top hides all badness and makes me feel much more confident.

CinnamonSweet · 03/03/2016 17:29

I go for a run. It makes me feel good and clears my head

Booklover123 · 03/03/2016 19:34

Always feel much more confident when I have paid a visit to my lovely hairdresser or just washing my hair and having the time to style and blow dry it.
Also it is amazing what a spray of my favourite perfume can achieve for my confidence levels!

Moogdroog · 03/03/2016 19:54

When I need a confidence boost, I think it helps to take the time I need to get ready properly, rather than just putting on my makeup whilst juggling getting the kids ready. Taking the time to do my hair properly, choosing my clothes properly and putting on proper make up, rather than just a bit of mascara and lip balm.

purplepandas · 03/03/2016 21:20

I agree re going for a run.

glasgowlass · 03/03/2016 21:53

I don't normally wear make up so to feel more confident I will put some on.

BeeMyBaby · 03/03/2016 21:57

As the light improves my lady beard/ moustache starts to get more obvious, I usually wax it away but got an IPL home treatment machine and have started using it. I'm two stone heavier than normal as recently had a baby but because I am able to get rid of my face fuzz I feel SO good about myself.

Freshly washed hair and a bit of make up and perfume, some nice comfy clothes boosts my confidence and makes me happy.

lemonymelanie · 03/03/2016 22:18

A yoga session makes me feel 3 inches taller and 5 times better in myself and about myself. And it doesn't matter what I look like because I feel great!

Snog · 04/03/2016 05:59

I've enrolled on a diy evening course to learn ceramic tiling, how to hang doors and stuff!
Can't wait!

EverybodyHatesATourist · 04/03/2016 08:59

Standing up straight and walking with purpose makes me feel more confident. I always book my next hair appointment whilst I'm at the salon, every six weeks without fail. It's too easy to let four or five months slide by otherwise and then it's not a style any more it just hangs.

SuzCG · 04/03/2016 09:51

A pick me up for me is always people - nothing beats the best of friends to cheer you up and get life back on track. A quick coffee in the day or a cheeky glass of wine at night, doesn't matter where or when. Exercise always makes me feel better too - even if I don't feel like going doing it - I feel so much better afterwards.

prettybird · 04/03/2016 10:03

Doing my nails makes me feel more confident: not because they look better but because they are evidence, every time I see them, that I have taken time for me.

Normally I only have time to do my nails when I'm on holiday Hmm

clareollif · 04/03/2016 12:02

The simple things help boost my confidence. A new hairdo, a new outfit, painted nails etc. It's just about feeling more like me if you know what I mean. Doing something for myself rather than my children.

Byrdie · 04/03/2016 12:34

Getting my hair sorted out helps me. I colour it to get rid of the grey these days and that helps a lot. Pulling on an outfit i know suits me and that hides some of the lumps and bumps is a good confidence trick. The best one though - smile and look people directly in the eyes when you're having a conversation or even just saying hello. Fake it till you make it - makes me look more confident and then i feel more confident. Attitude rather than looks wins it for me - but having no grey hairs and having a go to outfit works as a booster!!!

scaredofthecity · 04/03/2016 13:43

I have pink hair. It makes me smile

SyedaAkbar · 04/03/2016 14:48

Look Good Feel Good ! For me if i look good i feel really confident !

Lovewhereilive · 04/03/2016 17:05

Take Facebook with pinch of salt, get outdoors in the fresh au and have fun with friends or family

ghostoftheMNchicken · 04/03/2016 18:00

I find playing with my children is one of the best things I can do to boost my happiness and confidence. There's nothing better than their laughter.

flamingtoaster · 04/03/2016 19:29

When I need to boost my confidence I remind myself of my various achievements over the years, I dress in clothes in which I feel good, I do a relaxing breathing exercise, and I rehearse any public speaking I have to do. After that I can take on anything.

navygravy · 04/03/2016 22:34

I've recently enrolled on a companionship scheme to spend time with older people in the community who are isolated. One woman in her nineties who I see for a cuppa once a week is an absolute tonic. She has a wicked sense of humour and has been fantastic for helping with my confidence by passing on her wisdom about what's really important. Nurturing friendships, challenging yourself and drinking rum and Coke sums it up, and I can't argue with any of that!

Cocacolaandchocolate · 05/03/2016 06:02

Just time to pamper myself... Ie. Using a scrub in the shower. Or getting to put some makeup on.

lesley37 · 05/03/2016 13:27

a spritz of perfume and a slick of lipstick usually does it for me.
