Mother’s Day is just around the corner and, to celebrate, Lidl want to know what dish you'd like to be served on a perfect Mothering Sunday. Whether this is a snack, starter, main course, cake or dessert, please share your ideal dish on this thread - then Michelin-starred chef Kevin Love will create recipes using Lidl items for a selection of MNers choices! (In an ideal world your OH or DC would then actually make them for you!)

So please share on this thread what you've love to see created for you on Mother's Day - Lidl would love to hear them

Share your ideal Mother’s Day dish with Lidl by posting on this thread and you will be entered into a prize draw where five MNers will each win a £50 Lidl voucher.

Please note your comments may be used by Lidl elsewhere, so please only post if you're comfortable with this.

Thanks and good luck!

I would love a nice homemade pasta (yes pasta from scratch!) as we have a pasta machine but it becomes a disaster when i use it. Perhaps a filled pasta with a nice filling and a creamy sauce.

Nettie17 · 22/02/2016 22:17

Prawn cocktail on a bed of lettuce with rose Marie sauce

PrincessAisha2015 · 22/02/2016 22:43

My favourite Mothers Day dish would be freshly made Fish and Chips from our local chippy followed by a very sweet lemon cheesecake!! My fav!!

Bsummers · 22/02/2016 23:00

Oh I think a nice south asian meal would please me, Samosas for a starter, lovely lamb biryani for dinner and some kulfi (indian ice cream) to finish it off! Lovely, gosh I'm hungry now!

peanutmum111 · 23/02/2016 00:13

My ideal dish would be anything made for me and the washing up done as well !!!!!!!!!
but I do like salmon, with new potatoes and perhaps some green beans.
Not keen on 'pudding' so will have a nice blue cheese and biscuits.

Realitea · 23/02/2016 09:43

I'd love a three course meal of prawn cocktail (can't beat a 70s classic), a slow cooked lamb shank with mustard mash and lots of vegetables, then to finish, a black forest gateaux.
..and I would especially love it if the kitchen was restored afterwards to it's clean and tidiness!

princesssmitheee · 23/02/2016 14:22

chicken wrapped in bacon with cheese inside, with green beans and creamy mash xx

StickChildNumberTwo · 23/02/2016 15:59

Anything someone else has cooked! Roast lamb with all the trimmings would be high up the list, with lemon pavlova for pud.

JS06 · 23/02/2016 16:47

I would love an easy to prepare one pot meal which could be done by the family without my support - sausages roasted in a large roasting dish with some randomly chopped red and yellow peppers, red onion thin wedges and some small baby potatoes. After roasting some tinned tomatoes could be added to give a sauce. Hey presto a ready made meal with meat and potatoes and veg, colourful, nutritious and only one dish to wash up. Happy Mothers Day everyone !

emmamed123 · 23/02/2016 17:12

prawn cocktail, roast chicken with all the trimmings and raspberry cheesecake

EatingMyWords · 23/02/2016 17:49

Black forest gateau!

shroney · 23/02/2016 19:08

I would love to have fillet steak with a creamy peppercorn sauce, saute potatoes with broccoli and baby corn finished off with a raspberry cheesecake. yummy.

WBC0101 · 23/02/2016 21:14

Anything as long as my mum is there

castleton · 24/02/2016 08:54

We love Lasagna and salad with garlic bread

Gcalgske · 24/02/2016 13:19

Anything I didn't have to cook! But seriously...I love pork belly from lidl. I eat lots of it (as I'm on the MN low carb boot camp) and I'd love my hubby and daughter to make me mashed cauliflower with roasted asparagus and pork belly in five spice. Delicious, healthy and easy. Plus they can do the washing up!

sofieellis · 24/02/2016 14:10

I'd like mushrooms roasted with goat's cheese on top, served with asparagus and baby sweetcorn.

As Mother's day is just after my birthday this year, there will hopefully be some birthday cake for afters.

I wonder if I should email this page as a hint?

JenniferAnistonsHair · 24/02/2016 19:03

Ooh, a nice lamb casserole...or just good old roast lamb with all the trimmings. Plus a lovely homemade crumble with custard. Any variety of crumble would do. However, my other half thinks using the toaster is "cooking", & ventures no further than that...so I'll be lucky!! 😆

FlukeSkyeRunner · 24/02/2016 20:28

I would love DH's French toast for breakfast - with maple syrup and a just ripe sliced banana.

Served in bed, with a good cup of tea. mmmm, yum.

sammylea80 · 24/02/2016 21:00

Cajun Salmon with baby veg and sweet potato

LovelyFriend · 25/02/2016 07:37

I'm a single parent to Dc aged 8 &4. Still a little young fir unsupervised cooking.

So my fab meal will be from a restaurant around the corner. Probably a laska.

serendipity1980 · 25/02/2016 13:00

My ideal mothers day meal would be delicious roast beef dinner followed by either sticky toffee pudding or and rich and gooey chocolate pudding! All very good for you!!

badgermum · 25/02/2016 13:25

I would love a long lazy brunch aster having a lie in and it would consist of a breakfast Burrito consisting of scrambled egg, rocket, and guacamole served in a warmed tortilla wrap with a dollop of pesto on top . . . . . Mmmmmm Delish!

Lovemylittlebears · 25/02/2016 18:05

Vegetarian sausage casserole with seasonal veg. Failing that beans on toast would suffice. Glass of wine would be nice too.

ghostoftheMNchicken · 25/02/2016 18:25

A cream tea - coronation chicken sandwiches, followed by lots and lots of different cakes, pastries and scones.

Theimpossiblegirl · 25/02/2016 20:53

Slightly off-topic, but I thought it was impossible to have a NN with MN in it. How did you get past that, Ghost?
