Mother’s Day is just around the corner and, to celebrate, Lidl want to know what dish you'd like to be served on a perfect Mothering Sunday. Whether this is a snack, starter, main course, cake or dessert, please share your ideal dish on this thread - then Michelin-starred chef Kevin Love will create recipes using Lidl items for a selection of MNers choices! (In an ideal world your OH or DC would then actually make them for you!)

So please share on this thread what you've love to see created for you on Mother's Day - Lidl would love to hear them

Share your ideal Mother’s Day dish with Lidl by posting on this thread and you will be entered into a prize draw where five MNers will each win a £50 Lidl voucher.

Please note your comments may be used by Lidl elsewhere, so please only post if you're comfortable with this.

Thanks and good luck!

Would have to be blended Butternut Squash homemade soup with crusty garlic tiger bread! Perfectly warming for any occasion!

GREATAUNT1 · 19/02/2016 17:30

Roast lamb, roast potato, mashed potato, baked carotts, baked parsnips, sprouts, peas, gravy made with meat juices of course, & minty sauce :-)'''

mo3733 · 19/02/2016 17:44

roast dinner and all the trimmings

matphil · 19/02/2016 17:54

Firstly it helps if someone else is cooking it. I'd like a lamb roast dinner followed by a black forest gateau.

kerryv · 19/02/2016 18:02

Anything that I didn't have to cook.

Liberated71 · 19/02/2016 18:04

Anything I've not cooked myself!

MAT12 · 19/02/2016 18:50

I like simple so im happy with salad and tuna.

beckyinman · 19/02/2016 19:10

Anything that is made for me! But a gorgeous rare steak and chunky chips are always appreciated

paulaburnside114 · 19/02/2016 19:17

My favourite is Lamb with Roast potatoes, Green beans and lots of Gravy and Mint sauce. Yummm

Tkw2014 · 19/02/2016 19:55

A lovely roast dinner followed by chocolate fudge cake for dessert!

Marg2k8 · 19/02/2016 20:06

I would like roast beef and all the trimmings.

KateOxford · 19/02/2016 21:17

A lovely roast dinner; nut roast as I'm vegetarian, crispy roast potatoes, Yorkshire puddings, sage and onion stuffing as my Mum would have made it and lots of gravy. Followed by apple crumble and custard!

Anderson8 · 19/02/2016 22:10

Chickens stuffed with haggis in a white wine sauce

Vijac · 19/02/2016 22:52

I would love crispy duck pancakes with hoisin sauce, cucumber and spring onion followed by Thai chicken cashew nut and Thai fragrant rice. With a crunchy chocolate florentine or a sticky toffee dessert.

I expect a cheese sandwich...that I've made! (Haha hopefully not, watch this space)

Vijac · 19/02/2016 22:52

Oh yes with prosecco and red wine of course!

libra101 · 20/02/2016 06:58

A lovely Mother's Day dish is Roast beef, roasties and parsnips, carrots and runner beans, smothered with gravy. Healthy and filling.

mave · 20/02/2016 07:44

My ideal dish for mum's day would be a lovely fish pie with loads of vegetables.

ScrambledEggAndToast · 20/02/2016 07:58

I would do a lovely medium steak, sweet potato wedges, mushrooms and onions. Yum, I could soooo eat that right now.

happysouls · 20/02/2016 09:14

A great big picnic buffet! Cheeses and chutneys, salad and fruit, crisps and olives, lots to nibble and take time over, something for everyone!

mulgrove · 20/02/2016 10:28

Oh it would have to be Fillet Steak Medium with Roasted Peppers and veg and Mash with Pepper Sauce

shivbrown · 20/02/2016 12:02

chicken pie with veg and roast potatoes

SymphonyofShadows · 20/02/2016 14:01

Roast is my favourite but don't have it very often as no one else is as keen. My ideal meal would be fillet of beef, potatoes roasted in goose fat, pigs in blankets, mash, peas, red cabbage, Yorkshire puds and port gravy (not for DCs). I'd have to cook it though as no one else would!

chrisfc99 · 20/02/2016 17:31

My OH makes a fantastic roast so my perfect Mothers Day dish would be a roast chicken dinner with all the trimmings. He also makes a great chocolate cake, so that would be dessert, with a side of ice cream.

Jellylove · 20/02/2016 17:51

I would love a roast belly pork with crispy skin, some Spring greens and roasties.
For dessert I would love a cherry clafoutis but this may be hard to pull off, so I would settle for a cherry pie or similar with lashings of vanilla icecream. Sigh
