Mother’s Day is just around the corner and, to celebrate, Lidl want to know what dish you'd like to be served on a perfect Mothering Sunday. Whether this is a snack, starter, main course, cake or dessert, please share your ideal dish on this thread - then Michelin-starred chef Kevin Love will create recipes using Lidl items for a selection of MNers choices! (In an ideal world your OH or DC would then actually make them for you!)

So please share on this thread what you've love to see created for you on Mother's Day - Lidl would love to hear them

Share your ideal Mother’s Day dish with Lidl by posting on this thread and you will be entered into a prize draw where five MNers will each win a £50 Lidl voucher.

Please note your comments may be used by Lidl elsewhere, so please only post if you're comfortable with this.

Thanks and good luck!

It's a Sunday so there's no finer time for a roast with all the trimmings. Roast beef, homemade gravy, a massive Yorkshire pudding acting as a bowl for it all. Wonderful!

Chicken bake, get family to chop carrots, parsnips, onions and place chicken thighs on top, drizzle olive oil, and balsamic vinegar and bake until cooked. Easy and leaves plenty of time for family board games whilst it cooks.

I ove a mixed paella served with a nice bottle of albarino

A circle of mash potatoes made with Smash. Fill it up with a tin of Prince's minced beef. Easy for even kids to make.

I always make a lovely roast chicken dinner for mothers day
I serve it with yummy gravy, roast potatoes, my home made mealie, carrots and cauliflower cheese
For pudding I make homemade sticky toffee pudding

A lovely slow roasted leg of lamb with crunchy veggies and mint sauce

blackistheneworange · 28/02/2016 20:31

It would have to be a roast dinner (beef and all the trimmings yum) followed by apple crumble and custard (or ice cream).

chicgeekdiary · 28/02/2016 20:46

For me it has to be lasagne with garlic bread followed by a big slab of cheesecake!

mata777 · 28/02/2016 20:57

I would love a breakfast in bed (but without children bouncing on me). Scrambled eggs on toast, cherry tomatoes, some nice yoghurt, milky coffee. Not too much to ask.

It has to be a Sunday roast with all the trimmings, Mothers day always falls on a Sunday, would be crazy not to!

slbhill42 · 28/02/2016 21:23

Would it be trite to say anything I don't have to cook myself? LOL Some sort of creamy pasta dish, perhaps, then I know I will enjoy it and so will DS4, making dinner less stressful too ;-)
Maybe some of hubby's home made jam tarts to follow - it's years since he last made them and I'm getting desparate!

clairew111 · 28/02/2016 21:45

I'd be happy with pasta, garlic bread and a glass of wine.

Anything cooked by my kids!

Ploy · 28/02/2016 22:06

As my Childers will be making dinner on their own, I am happy to have something easy for them to put together with minimal involvement from me, so a really nice pizza would be ideal, with a nice salad. And icecream for afters.

daisyduke66 · 28/02/2016 22:22

#LidlMothersDay ..I'd love to see a tapas type offering - lots of individual small savoury dishes of Mediterranean delights! Perhaps Calimari deep fried with a dip, Meatballs with a spicy salsa, Patatas Bravas and so on! Lovely!

roseannascott89 · 28/02/2016 22:29

it's a Sunday - Sunday roast is the place to be. Mum's favourite is roast beef - so tips to make a roast beef dinner extra special would be just the ticket.

robyn297 · 29/02/2016 02:45
