It’s 2016, and many of us have pledged to kick old habits or try something new. Clairol nice ‘n easy wants to know how Mumsnetters are getting on with sticking to their New Year’s resolutions.

Here’s what they say: “We’re all too familiar with the frustrations of being stuck on style repeat – whether it’s due to being busy at work, having a hectic social life or being scared of change. But little changes can make a big difference; whether that’s a new lipstick, a new accessory or a different hair shade. With nice’n easy’s wide palette of shades, there’s a shade for every woman who wants to refresh her look. Each shade delivers up to 100% grey coverage, plus natural tones and highlights, thanks to Clairol’s exclusive ColourBlend Technology. What better time to go for a change than a new year? That’s exactly the time we chose to change our models on pack. What changes did you plan for this year?”

How are your New Year’s resolutions going so far and plans? Perhaps you’re working off those Christmas mince pies by hitting the gym? Or are you trying to broaden your horizons by reading more books? Maybe you’re taking the “new year, new you” idea a little more literally, by colouring your hair or changing your wardrobe?

However you’re getting on with your resolutions, nice ‘n easy would love to hear about it.

Everyone who posts on this thread will be entered into a prize draw, where one lucky Mumsnetter will win a £300 Love2Shop voucher.

Thanks and good luck,
MNHQ

Liquorice13 · 19/01/2016 20:35

I'm trying not to spend money I don't need to, so far so good

strawberrisc · 19/01/2016 20:37

A work in progress. I resolved that for as long as the decisions I make are from the heart I won't worry if other people don't agree.

vcoxee · 19/01/2016 20:38

I have set new fitness challenges that I'd like to achieve in 2016! So far so good I have made a good start although I had a few rest days ...

But my main resolution is to have a very happy & healthy year! I'm working on this everyday! I have also started doing the penny challenge and my husband joined me too so we have two jars now :)

gethro · 19/01/2016 20:40

Well the diet lasted 2 days then someone had to eat the chocolates and treats left over from Christmas,I don't like seeing food go to waste and one resolution was to throw away less food, but I didn't realise that one resolution would be the downfall of the other...

cozza777 · 19/01/2016 20:41

One of my new years resolutions was to spend more time outdoors exploring with my boys,so far we have been out and about every weekend and spent last Sunday at Westonbirt Arbortum doing the Stick man trail that my boys thoroughly enjoyed so a good positive start I think :)

EmNix · 19/01/2016 20:49

Mine was to declutter and keep the place tidy.
1st room done.
Now need to be motivated to attempt the dreaded under stair cupboard!

samosh22 · 19/01/2016 20:50

Mine is to eat healthy and it's going well

welshpolarbear · 19/01/2016 20:50

My new years resolutions were to get more organised and to start writing down more of what my little one does and says. I have been keeping up with the 2nd one quite well, have bought a scrap book, and have started jotting down things in my diary before I start that. A nice little project :-) The organising needs a bit more work!!!

TrollTheRespawnJeremy · 19/01/2016 20:52

My weightloss plan is going very well

That was all a lie.

I'm eating a packet of jaffa cakes right now.

To be fair, I've had a terrible migraine and I'm feeling sorry for myself, so I'm not going to be too hard on myself!!

purplepandas · 19/01/2016 20:55

Could do better with the eating but this week has been good. Mostly because the weight situation is unspeakably bad and I am so cross with myself.

dandanrawlings · 19/01/2016 21:03

Terrible, i aimed to try and be more active and lose weight, and all ive done is gorge on food

cheryl100 · 19/01/2016 21:03

I am still sticking to my healthy eating plan, yay!!

Nettie17 · 19/01/2016 21:09

My new year resolutions are going really well. I take the stairs instead of the lift, walk to the shops and take a lunchtime walk when I'm at work

glennamy · 19/01/2016 21:11

My 2 personal resolutions were to cut down on sodium and to try and be less stressed... the sodium one has been a little tough but is now not a problem at all :) the stress one is a problem as work / home life balance is still bad... maybe a change of career is needed!

Chelsea26 · 19/01/2016 21:16

Totally pants! I just like food and wine too much and exercise not at all

maximillion15 · 19/01/2016 21:16

To drink more water! Struggling!

Blondiebloo · 19/01/2016 21:20

Badly

cookie09 · 19/01/2016 21:26

I promised myself and my family i'd have a dry January and im more than halfway there, as well as this i'm exercising daily, walking at least 3 miles a day with the dogs and eating no junk food. Im pretty proud of myself being able to do all of this at once. But when needs must! My resolution was to lose a few inches, ive lost a few pounds so cant wait to measure myself at the end of the month.

danikagrace · 19/01/2016 21:29

Mine was to schedule more "me" time, with working from home it's hard to separate work and play. It's going well so far, I've found it helps to calendar/diary in time to watch a movie with my other half, do a home facial etc. and to treat it like any other appointment ie. don't just blow it off!

Annbunce · 19/01/2016 21:31

Not very well at all :(

Zero willpower !!!

CMOTDibbler · 19/01/2016 21:34

Mine are going great - 4 runs a week, 2 swims, 2 cycles Grin just as I intended, but with a marathon and several triathlons entered I have to keep up!

compy99 · 19/01/2016 21:35

mine is the same every year, to worry less and not be so stressed all the time, as in previous years I failed before lunchtime on Jan 1st!

icehousewin · 19/01/2016 21:39

Dry january = going well. Haven't started to learn to drive yet but will as soon as I have the funds! Good luck to all others with theirs!

mumpetuk1 · 19/01/2016 21:42

Terribly, I have not even started yet but plan to go and sign up at my works gym.
