It’s 2016, and many of us have pledged to kick old habits or try something new. Clairol nice ‘n easy wants to know how Mumsnetters are getting on with sticking to their New Year’s resolutions.

Here’s what they say: “We’re all too familiar with the frustrations of being stuck on style repeat – whether it’s due to being busy at work, having a hectic social life or being scared of change. But little changes can make a big difference; whether that’s a new lipstick, a new accessory or a different hair shade. With nice’n easy’s wide palette of shades, there’s a shade for every woman who wants to refresh her look. Each shade delivers up to 100% grey coverage, plus natural tones and highlights, thanks to Clairol’s exclusive ColourBlend Technology. What better time to go for a change than a new year? That’s exactly the time we chose to change our models on pack. What changes did you plan for this year?”

How are your New Year’s resolutions going so far and plans? Perhaps you’re working off those Christmas mince pies by hitting the gym? Or are you trying to broaden your horizons by reading more books? Maybe you’re taking the “new year, new you” idea a little more literally, by colouring your hair or changing your wardrobe?

However you’re getting on with your resolutions, nice ‘n easy would love to hear about it.

Everyone who posts on this thread will be entered into a prize draw, where one lucky Mumsnetter will win a £300 Love2Shop voucher.

Thanks and good luck,
MNHQ

not very well - lost some weight and then went out with friends twice and put it all back on - Bah Humbug!

darlingred · 19/01/2016 17:46

The year's resolution was to pay off the credit card and save some money. So far both going well. Have payed a couple of hundred of card this month. Saving wise myself and DH are putting money into a box depending on what day of the year it is e.g. Day 1 is 1p, day 365 is £3.65.
Hope it continues.

I'm intending to eat much more healthily but only was planning to start after DC3 arrived, which still hasn't happened so there is a slightly day on my New Years resolution so far...

sweetdiversion1 · 19/01/2016 17:55

I was trying to be more healthy and do more exercise but I've a back injury that is playing up so it's kind of putting me off. I really do need to try and make an effort.

wjanice121 · 19/01/2016 17:56

Not too bad. I've lost 6lbs since 02 Jan

WowOoo · 19/01/2016 18:00

I've only resolved to keep myself more hydrated and drink more water during the day at work.
I didn't think it through - this means going to the toilet far more often. I've failed!
But am trying to drink more as and when I get the chance and first thing in the morning.

pennwood · 19/01/2016 18:03

I have been exercising every day & feel much better for it. Hubby filled the hula hoop with sand & that's going well, & so is the daily walking. I have been given a bike that I had not expected, so all good so far.

Oldbiddywilkins · 19/01/2016 18:06

I haven't even started on mine yet! Mine are to ride the new bike I bought last summer (when the weather improves) and to learn to crochet (I'll get started on that one soon).

OneWordTwoSyllables · 19/01/2016 18:10

I planned to lose weight and stop snacking...

And read more I wanted to read 2 books a month (lol) but found i'm getting addicted again and have managed 6 so far this month. Happy with that!

mo3733 · 19/01/2016 18:36

failed miserably

juju3 · 19/01/2016 18:47

Gave up on them in week 1

IonaAilidh11 · 19/01/2016 18:50

all but failed!

mamaduckbone · 19/01/2016 19:11

I've swum 40 lengths the last 2 weeks in my box to get fitter but have now come down with a dreadful cold so no swimming for me tonight. Back on it next week!
We're also cutting down on meat as a family - having our first week of meat free dinners this week and trying to cut down to 3 times a week most weeks - and monitoring our sugar intake. That's my hardest one since I'm a complete sugar addict.

Marg2k8 · 19/01/2016 19:14

I didn't make any, so everything is going according to plan.

Romaman · 19/01/2016 19:24

It's going really well, I only made one resolution this year, and that was not to make any resolutions, that way I can,t fail.

kittykomp · 19/01/2016 19:27

not to bad :)

swampthing1 · 19/01/2016 19:30

I did not make any as I would rather see how the year works out instead of being disappointed

shivbrown · 19/01/2016 19:36

My new years resolution is to keep the weight off that I lost in 2015. I lost 5 stone in 12 months and this year is to remain fit and healthy and keep to my clean eating and exercise, I went from a size 16/18 to a size 8 and now im running around playing football with my children and loving life :)

Might even sign myself up to a half marathon too hehe

I'm not doing too badly, getting more exercise and eating less treats!

catz747 · 19/01/2016 19:59

I didn't make any, can't go wrong! :D

mumtowoo1 · 19/01/2016 20:00

Mine was to walk to work and leave the car a home. It's been a bit hit and miss at the moment, I've not been well and because it's been so cold I've taken the car a few times.

sharond101 · 19/01/2016 20:11

Didn't make any concrete resolutions but am failing miserably in terms of the ones in my own head Blush .

alsproject · 19/01/2016 20:13

I am sticking with walking 5 miles a day

tiddles12 · 19/01/2016 20:27

I was doing well at losing weight- lost 4 lbs but a birthday party at the weekend put paid to that...
