It’s 2016, and many of us have pledged to kick old habits or try something new. Clairol nice ‘n easy wants to know how Mumsnetters are getting on with sticking to their New Year’s resolutions.

Here’s what they say: “We’re all too familiar with the frustrations of being stuck on style repeat – whether it’s due to being busy at work, having a hectic social life or being scared of change. But little changes can make a big difference; whether that’s a new lipstick, a new accessory or a different hair shade. With nice’n easy’s wide palette of shades, there’s a shade for every woman who wants to refresh her look. Each shade delivers up to 100% grey coverage, plus natural tones and highlights, thanks to Clairol’s exclusive ColourBlend Technology. What better time to go for a change than a new year? That’s exactly the time we chose to change our models on pack. What changes did you plan for this year?”

How are your New Year’s resolutions going so far and plans? Perhaps you’re working off those Christmas mince pies by hitting the gym? Or are you trying to broaden your horizons by reading more books? Maybe you’re taking the “new year, new you” idea a little more literally, by colouring your hair or changing your wardrobe?

However you’re getting on with your resolutions, nice ‘n easy would love to hear about it.

Everyone who posts on this thread will be entered into a prize draw, where one lucky Mumsnetter will win a £300 Love2Shop voucher.

Thanks and good luck,
MNHQ

Mine was to spend less money on unnecessary purchases and save it instead. It hasn't been going too badly so far with the exception of one tiny splurge in the sales (it was on something that I'd wanted for ages at the cheapest price it had ever been...)!

I'm sitting on the sofa eating a toblerone...so not very well would be the answer but it's still early days so I'm not beating myself up about it

Not eating after 6.00 p.m. - keeping to it, apart from a lapse last night: result - heartburn!

I am aiming to Live, Love & Laugh every day, doing pretty well so far, Small children do help making it easy to achieve these goals.

I only really made one resolution and I will have to wait until the end of the year to see if I succeeded. No problems so far.

My only resolution was to NOT make any resolutions, and, although it's a bit of a struggle at times, I'm managing to keep it so far :-)

Its been suprisingly good considering! I wanted to introduce some muscle building and toning exercise into my regime as I'm very weedy and no matter how much walking I do its not the right kind of exercise any more. But my lower back went so I thought all plans were thwarted. Luckily I've been able to keep moving after the first day, so have been able to gradually get back on track. Its going well! My other plan is to dance like nobody's watching, just give me the opportunity and I'm there! ;-)

We do Dry January every year, and so far I'm doing well. DH however keeps buying loads of different soft drinks and 0% beers which are playing havoc with our secondary goal of weight loss. On Sunday he actually bought a bottle of alcohol free wine, which turned out to be every bit as horrible as I expected it to be.

February I might try a tech diet - that'll be a challenge. I've just applied for the February Book Club, which might motivate me to ditch the screens.

So my resolution was to be less stressed / angry, (and breathe and smile!) and to walk every day to generally feel better and lose a little weight. So far, so good, and the best thing is I have never slept so well! Bonus!

Great! I ditched the 5:2 fast diet which I stuck to for three and a half years (!) but had gradually gained back all the weight I lost. Now I'm counting calories with the My Fitness app and I've lost 3.5 kilos since the beginning of January! Yay!
