It’s 2016, and many of us have pledged to kick old habits or try something new. Clairol nice ‘n easy wants to know how Mumsnetters are getting on with sticking to their New Year’s resolutions.

Here’s what they say: “We’re all too familiar with the frustrations of being stuck on style repeat – whether it’s due to being busy at work, having a hectic social life or being scared of change. But little changes can make a big difference; whether that’s a new lipstick, a new accessory or a different hair shade. With nice’n easy’s wide palette of shades, there’s a shade for every woman who wants to refresh her look. Each shade delivers up to 100% grey coverage, plus natural tones and highlights, thanks to Clairol’s exclusive ColourBlend Technology. What better time to go for a change than a new year? That’s exactly the time we chose to change our models on pack. What changes did you plan for this year?”

How are your New Year’s resolutions going so far and plans? Perhaps you’re working off those Christmas mince pies by hitting the gym? Or are you trying to broaden your horizons by reading more books? Maybe you’re taking the “new year, new you” idea a little more literally, by colouring your hair or changing your wardrobe?

However you’re getting on with your resolutions, nice ‘n easy would love to hear about it.

Everyone who posts on this thread will be entered into a prize draw, where one lucky Mumsnetter will win a £300 Love2Shop voucher.

Thanks and good luck,
MNHQ

Mine are not going very well only just started the diet and going back to the gym took me ages to get back into it after the Christmas period. Try really hard on the positive thinking but so much as happened already this month that its hard. But i am determined to this so will carry on pushing. Smile

LuckyBluie · 19/01/2016 11:10

Mine are going really well! Cycling to work instead of driving, still, and eating meat free twice a week. Have also managed to stick to my 2 litres of water a day Smile

buzzybev · 19/01/2016 11:17

Mine was to get fit and travel more. I'm going to the gym three times a week and looking at booking a holiday. So far, so good!

lizd31 · 19/01/2016 11:18

Im doing really well. I started my diet in October & lost 30 stone by the end of the year & have lost another half a stone so far this year so with my willpower & determination I know I'll be able to reach & maintain my target weight by summer. It's hard as I'm disabled & housebound so I can't exercise or get out & about & the diet is only 600 calories a day but I've stuck to it & I'm determined to carry on until I finally feel good about myself again

Mine was to have some more me time, it's been hit and miss really whether I have been able to do this. My little dog had puppies just before Christmas (7 of them) so most of my spare time is spent with the babies, by choice I might add as I can't get enough of them - I can live with a bad back spending my spare time on the floor being clambered on. Thanks for the opportunity to enter this fab competition.

Jade5093 · 19/01/2016 11:25

Eat healthy and exercise more - not doing too bad actually!

CheeseEMouse · 19/01/2016 11:25

We have a household budget for 2016 and we are pretty much sticking to it. Also we've been having a big clear out and got rid of masses of stuff (with more to go), which is very satisfying.

star1000 · 19/01/2016 11:29

I planned to be more organised, which I think I have been as I've had a hectic start to the new year!

naomicm · 19/01/2016 11:33

Well I resolved to not let little things get to me, keep calm etc...lasted about a week which I thought was pretty good going!!Grin

Laineyflo · 19/01/2016 11:42

gp12 · 19/01/2016 11:43

Roraima · 19/01/2016 12:16

It is a real fight to maintain the promise not to eat dairy. But I'm trying my best.

iut044 · 19/01/2016 12:19

The days are flying by already, I have hardly had time to catch my breath never mind stick to my resolutions. I had the usual like get fit, lose weight bla bla but I also had the resolution to start a behaviour chart for my 3 year old daughter, I havnt got around to it yet but I will......

Clairescottshug · 19/01/2016 12:56

Hmm not so well.. Starting again in February lol

imustbemadme · 19/01/2016 12:57

Well I've only just got started, I did day one of Insanity yesterday and consequently can't move off the sofa today, I couldn't even go onto my tiptoes to reach the tea in the cupboard my calves are so painful!! The diet is hard though, I still want to eat all day long but have stocked the cupboards with healthy snacks to avoid temptation.

freefan · 19/01/2016 13:13

yes, mine is going really good so far, making the most of each day and going to bed with positive thoughts is helping me sleep so much better.
