It’s 2016, and many of us have pledged to kick old habits or try something new. Clairol nice ‘n easy wants to know how Mumsnetters are getting on with sticking to their New Year’s resolutions.

Here’s what they say: “We’re all too familiar with the frustrations of being stuck on style repeat – whether it’s due to being busy at work, having a hectic social life or being scared of change. But little changes can make a big difference; whether that’s a new lipstick, a new accessory or a different hair shade. With nice’n easy’s wide palette of shades, there’s a shade for every woman who wants to refresh her look. Each shade delivers up to 100% grey coverage, plus natural tones and highlights, thanks to Clairol’s exclusive ColourBlend Technology. What better time to go for a change than a new year? That’s exactly the time we chose to change our models on pack. What changes did you plan for this year?”

How are your New Year’s resolutions going so far and plans? Perhaps you’re working off those Christmas mince pies by hitting the gym? Or are you trying to broaden your horizons by reading more books? Maybe you’re taking the “new year, new you” idea a little more literally, by colouring your hair or changing your wardrobe?

However you’re getting on with your resolutions, nice ‘n easy would love to hear about it.

Everyone who posts on this thread will be entered into a prize draw, where one lucky Mumsnetter will win a £300 Love2Shop voucher.

Thanks and good luck,
MNHQ

My resolutions to save money and lose weight are still on track. However my pledge to stop worrying about what I can't control hasn't gone so well

Eat more healthily - some progress but not enough. Lose some weight - not a jot yet. Try more new things - I've had a go at upcycling a cupboard - half done, tried 2 new recipes, and not much else so far. Visit new places - not yet, too wet and cold, though I did visit an old friend that I haven't visited for a long time. Could do better...

I had two - both of which are still going well. Go to the gym regularly and be better at using the food I have in my cupboards, freezer and fridge before buying more. We've had some quite experimental meals lately!

Pretty well. I have read three books so far and the goal was to read a book a week. I am in the middle of Jane Eyre and really enjoying it.

I wanted to spend less and save more which is going fairly well. I think I have made some from taking some stuff back from before Christmas

Mines more of a new years pledge than resolution I think! My daughter's friend is very poorly and needs to raise 250k for life saving treatment in the USA! I decided that after watching others help raise money that I wanted to help too! So far this year I've organised a sponsored fun run for children and I'm doing a bungee jump ( I really don't do heights!!eek!) but I want to raise as much as I can for this poor little boy! I'll be doing lots over the year and so far I'm managing to raise lots!!

2016 is the year I want to start looking after my health properly. I quit smoking on the 1st of January and its going well so far! I don't smell of stale smoke and the extra cash has been so handy! I also started Joe Wicks 90 day SSS plan which is going good. Lost no weight on the scales but have lost inches around my bust, waist and hips. And finally I have been properly brushing and flossing my teeth everyday. This might seem like alot to tackle but I have downloaded an app called Habitbull which is really helping to keep up my motivation! Who says you can't change more than one thing at a time?!

I am trying to stop buying so many things in the supermarket that are unnecessary this year and to take my own hot drinks with me in my travel mug instead of spending money on them when I’m travelling to work. So far, so good but we’re only 3 weeks into the year!

I've managed to lose 3.5lb, and my resolution to be more organised is working! Lunchbox and bag prep the night before has made a huge difference to our mornings.
