It’s 2016, and many of us have pledged to kick old habits or try something new. Clairol nice ‘n easy wants to know how Mumsnetters are getting on with sticking to their New Year’s resolutions.

Here’s what they say: “We’re all too familiar with the frustrations of being stuck on style repeat – whether it’s due to being busy at work, having a hectic social life or being scared of change. But little changes can make a big difference; whether that’s a new lipstick, a new accessory or a different hair shade. With nice’n easy’s wide palette of shades, there’s a shade for every woman who wants to refresh her look. Each shade delivers up to 100% grey coverage, plus natural tones and highlights, thanks to Clairol’s exclusive ColourBlend Technology. What better time to go for a change than a new year? That’s exactly the time we chose to change our models on pack. What changes did you plan for this year?”

How are your New Year’s resolutions going so far and plans? Perhaps you’re working off those Christmas mince pies by hitting the gym? Or are you trying to broaden your horizons by reading more books? Maybe you’re taking the “new year, new you” idea a little more literally, by colouring your hair or changing your wardrobe?

However you’re getting on with your resolutions, nice ‘n easy would love to hear about it.

Everyone who posts on this thread will be entered into a prize draw, where one lucky Mumsnetter will win a £300 Love2Shop voucher.

Thanks and good luck,
MNHQ

I didn't make any resolutions this year as I never keep them but I have been having a spring clean of my finances and the house and that is going ok so far

YoureGonnaHearMeRoar · 24/01/2016 15:22

www.lifehack.org/articles/productivity/why-you-should-start-your-new-year-in-february.html

I'm starting mine on February 1st Grin

hann24 · 24/01/2016 17:31

I'm trying to get more active and eat healthily. I'm succeeding on the being active part by going swimming, but eating healthily is proving to be more of a challenge!

ha2el · 24/01/2016 17:40

Not too well. I always aim to reduce my sugar intake, particularly after the Christmas binge, which was OK for a few days, but I have resorted to comfort eating and up goes the fat and sugar consumption.

aesops · 24/01/2016 17:53

Done and dusted - failed again!

jomarise · 24/01/2016 17:58

Mine was to loose weight and get fitter. I am pretty sure I am getting fitter and I have lost 5lbs -Not as much as I hoped but I am not in a huge rush

waitingforgodot · 24/01/2016 18:12

Dry January/reduce booze intake- going well. Eating more healthy foods. Having a no spend January too which is going appallingly. Thank goodness January is only once a year!

chrisfc99 · 24/01/2016 18:23

My resolutions are going pretty well. I'm still swimming twice a week. I'm also on course for my walking and cycling goals. Hopefully this will also be reflected in my waistline!

Lovewhereilive · 24/01/2016 18:27

I decided to go to nights out, gatherings etc only when I actually wanted to not because I felt I should. Have refused 1 invite so far which made me feel more empowered. Not that I go out loads, just want it to be quality rather than quantity and with people I actually like.

grumpydwarf · 24/01/2016 18:54

I gave up smoking and am now on day 24 of no fags! I also promised to eat healthier which I am but an snacking more due to the no smoking! I guess for a while I have to choose between fat and fag free or thin and stinky lol Wink

emmav6 · 24/01/2016 19:19

i really want to get my pre-baby body back, a couple of pounds down but in the right direction :)

zombiemeow · 24/01/2016 21:24

My resolution was to become a vegetarian and I freakin' love meat. Haven't touched a single bit of meat so far this year. Woo go me.

linheiner · 24/01/2016 21:54

Mine was to try to lose some weight - lost 1kg at my first weigh in so yes, it's going OK so far (early days yet though!)

Queenbean · 24/01/2016 22:04

My resolution was to be fit and healthy again. Working a desk job has gradually piled on the pounds, it has been hard work but I am seeing results which is delightful!

lulumajor · 25/01/2016 00:02

mine was to lose weight gradually and is going okay at the moment. have been going to the gym. would like to look good for graduation

tabbaz123 · 25/01/2016 09:06

Very Well so far! My NYR was to start ticking items off the bucket list and I have managed a trip to Barcelona to see Gaudi's work. The only problem I have is that as I tick stuff off I am finding more to add to it!!

liane1987 · 25/01/2016 11:28

Well.....im up lbs and down on the £££s haha Oops! It was meant to go the other way :-) x

SteveHearne91 · 25/01/2016 11:42

Not bad I have been eating much better

backinschool · 25/01/2016 13:52

My health and fitness resolutions aren't going well but I have a couple of interviews lined up and my skills tests booked so my resolution to career change and become a teacher is going very well so far.

BreconBeBuggered · 25/01/2016 14:38

To get to January's payday without needing to resort to using the credit card. We're almost there with a couple of pounds to spare. Go me.

I usually tell strangers I've given up smoking. Not that impressive as I'm not a smoker, but it saves the trouble of dreaming up goals I'm not that motivated to aim for. It's January. I don't need anything further to bring me down.

Heidipiedy · 25/01/2016 14:49

I have decided to diet and then transisition to a less sugar filled diet. My diet neuatral - i'm getting there lol, but i am actually excited to start cutting out that sugar!

kristianjsnooks · 25/01/2016 20:11

Feeling healthier and fitter by the day - Winning the battle s far!

pinklady123456 · 25/01/2016 20:47

Very well as I never make them!

TheyreMadITellYouMaaaad · 25/01/2016 21:37

I've stuck to mine so far. Can now fit into a pair of trousers that had been pushed to the back of the shelf. In a couple of weeks I hope I will fit into the trousers that were underneath them. Once you start seeing results, the resolutions becomes easier to stick to.

swanlady2000 · 25/01/2016 23:58

Mine was to lose weight and get back to what I was 2 years ago - So far I am 6lbs lighter and still going strong and full of determination!
