It’s 2016, and many of us have pledged to kick old habits or try something new. Clairol nice ‘n easy wants to know how Mumsnetters are getting on with sticking to their New Year’s resolutions.

Here’s what they say: “We’re all too familiar with the frustrations of being stuck on style repeat – whether it’s due to being busy at work, having a hectic social life or being scared of change. But little changes can make a big difference; whether that’s a new lipstick, a new accessory or a different hair shade. With nice’n easy’s wide palette of shades, there’s a shade for every woman who wants to refresh her look. Each shade delivers up to 100% grey coverage, plus natural tones and highlights, thanks to Clairol’s exclusive ColourBlend Technology. What better time to go for a change than a new year? That’s exactly the time we chose to change our models on pack. What changes did you plan for this year?”

How are your New Year’s resolutions going so far and plans? Perhaps you’re working off those Christmas mince pies by hitting the gym? Or are you trying to broaden your horizons by reading more books? Maybe you’re taking the “new year, new you” idea a little more literally, by colouring your hair or changing your wardrobe?

However you’re getting on with your resolutions, nice ‘n easy would love to hear about it.

Everyone who posts on this thread will be entered into a prize draw, where one lucky Mumsnetter will win a £300 Love2Shop voucher.

Thanks and good luck,
MNHQ

So far so good - keeping the weight under control and aiming to run a 10k by end of year - on the right track

WaitroseCoffeeCostaCup · 21/01/2016 14:00

Mine was to read 50 books this year! I am half way through book 3 so I guess I'm on track! My Daughter (7) has requested that every great book I read from now on I put back on the book shelf for when she is old enough to read them. :-)

katieskatie82 · 21/01/2016 16:10

mine is going very well. Mine was to drink more water. so far so good, I suppose its not really a hard one to stick too anyway! x

MissChrisOfficial · 21/01/2016 17:23

I had a couple - Eating healthier is going pretty well and cooking from scratch! However... My worry less and smile more has had it's little fails as I have been unwell and worrying about it!

HollybearFluffpuss · 21/01/2016 17:59

Didn't make any really serious ones. Take life easy :)

joeyhanmum · 21/01/2016 20:27

Meal planning going well so far though I still end up going to the supermarket 2-3 times a week!

Rumplebelle · 21/01/2016 20:41

We've taken a long, hard look on our finances and have decided to make up a budget and stick to it.
We have stuck to it for every category apart from eating out so not too bad, but not perfect!

Kangakate · 21/01/2016 20:48

Great, I just found out I'm pregnant, hopefully everything will go ok!

CharleyDavidson · 21/01/2016 21:22

Usual resolutions - be healthier. Doing ok for now on that one. Drinking less, eating less, weighing less (slowly).

Other resolution - start to travel more. Have booked a holiday abroad for me and the kids! Eek at both the price and going there on my own without DP, but he doesn't like to travel.

MakeTeaNotWar · 21/01/2016 21:31

Nope not kept to anything - still overweight & unfit :-(

Kem99 · 21/01/2016 21:49

Only made one and that was to take it easier and it's going pretty well so far.

mumsnit · 21/01/2016 22:03

Promised myself a dry January which I've stuck to (so far anyway!). Looking forward to Feb though Grin

Also doing no spend on clothes for at least 6 months. So far so good and made easier by the fact that even when I have been shopping I haven't seen a thing I want to buy!!

Elliecherry · 22/01/2016 10:38

I haven't started yet... I still have 11 months though :D

emily13 · 22/01/2016 10:56

Pretty good, we're eating more healthily and going swimming quite a bit

Gallant1 · 22/01/2016 12:18

didnt make one

serendipity1980 · 22/01/2016 12:21

I didn't make any because I find that they are often too hard to keep!

InspectorMontalbano · 22/01/2016 13:00

Mine was to start running & was doing c25k but then got a cold so missed a week. Back to it now though !

cather · 22/01/2016 13:45

Mine was to cycle more but the weather isn't helping. I have managed a few rides this year so once the weather improves I am hoping to get out more

mulgrove · 22/01/2016 17:50

Mine are going great so far, need to lose a stone and have lost 8lb already am super chuffed with that.

MummyRabbitsSister · 22/01/2016 20:14

My resolution was to be nice to one (extra) person each day. Whether it be something small like holding the door open that little bit longer or something more elaborate.

So far, I am a little dissappointed in my efforts, but the year is still young....

mizzwardy · 22/01/2016 20:28

seeingdouble2 · 22/01/2016 22:39

My resolutions are going fabulously, because I didn't make any!

Julieguy · 22/01/2016 23:10

My resolution was to spring clean and declutter my house, which is going really well. I've finished 2 rooms already and they look fabulous.
