With Cadbury launching their biggest ever advent calendar, Cadbury would like to know which moment over the festive period your DCs are most excited about.

Here's what they say "This year we’re launching Cadbury’s biggest ever advent calendar and setting out to bring even more joy to the countdown this Christmas. 24 trucks, 24 doors, opening daily in 24 different locations, we’re ringing joyful festive surprises to the nation on the countdown to Christmas. While we’re counting down, we’re also keen to hear from Mumsnetters about which festive moment your kids can't wait for"

Find out about the Cadbury advent calendar by watching the video below:

So which festive moment are your DCs most excited about? You might be thrilled at the prospect of some time relaxing at home with your family, but if you asked your children - what would their response be? Perhaps they're dying to decorate the Christmas tree? Or take centre stage at their school nativity play? We're looking for the moments and treats that make Christmas for them, alongside the thrillingness of ripping wrapping off (lots of) presents.

Whichever festive moment your DCs can't wait for, Cadbury would love to hear about it.

Everyone who posts a comment will be entered into a prize draw where one lucky MNer will win a £200 Love2Shop voucher.

Thanks and good luck,
MNHQ

My two actually bounced with joy when they saw their advent calendars this year. And it wasn't even chocolate, sorry!

I filled their calendars with little toys, they think it's the best thing ever!

Presents! Grin

My DS is excited about so much. It seems that almost everyday in December there is something different going on that he is excited about. Opening the calendar on Monday was really great for him as he sees whether the elves have left him an extra treat for being good - He knows that if he manages 20 well behaved days out of the 24 days before Christmas then he will get an 'Elf' box on the morning of the 24th which will contain a few extra treats (spreads out some of the smaller gifts that might otherwise get overlooked on Christmas day).

This year he is also going to his first ever panto and he is very excited about that as well as meeting Santa at a local Bird Sanctuary.

It is wonderful seeing all the delight on his face - It really makes Christmas magical again for adults to watch.

My 3 little ones are looking forward to decorating the tree and as we are away at the moment opening their advent calendars when we get home (and the cats advent calendar!) They are also excited about seeing what mischief our naughty elf gets up too!!!

katiewalters · 03/12/2015 13:44

my children love going to a grotto to see santa, decorating the tree and we go to the snowdome every year before christmas, they get very excited for that

WinterBabyof89 · 03/12/2015 13:55

My DS's looking forward to everything - he wakes me up every morning so excited just to open his advent calendar.

But he is particularly looking forward to putting reindeer food out & milk/cookies for Father Christmas :)

JulesJules · 03/12/2015 14:22

Mine were looking forward to the start of the chocolate advent calendar - this really means that Christmas is coming!

Apart from that, the big things are

Carol singing from school
Getting and decorating the tree (around the 18th)
Breaking up from school (18th)
Christmas morning - stockings, kedgeree for breakfast then to Grandma and Grandpa's

I just asked my daughter the most part of Christmas she is looking forward too and her answer straight away was TOYS!! But to be honest I think all the little bits running up to Christmas she loves NEARLY as much. Im watching her at the moment try and make her own crackers, at nursery this morning she made me a Christmas card, tomorrow we have her first nursery Christmas party, next week the panto, week after visiting Father Christmas, various playdates decorating ginger bread men, hanging candy canes and chocolates off the tree and also the excitement about a small piece of chocolate behind a numbered window always makes me smile.I think its the combination of all the things that make Christmas so special and exciting for them.

DD is excited about several things - Pantomime, trip to the theatre to see Horrible Histories with her little friendship group, and mostly that it is her birthday on Xmas eve so she gets to have a longer Christmas every year!!

annieno1 · 03/12/2015 17:16

It has to be the lights getting switched on in our local town

glorious · 03/12/2015 17:24

DD is really looking forward to opening the drawers on her advent calendar and doing the activities (e.g. gingerbread house). She's nearly 3.

My little one is 2.5 years and it the first time he really understands what's going on at Christmas. We made our first letter to santa and went through the Argos book to cut out all the toys he could possibly want, then went to the post office to buy his christmas stamp and popped it in the postbox to send to Santa. We have watched a few christmas movies such as The Grinch and The Santa Clause, he loves to watch them over and over. He helped to put up the Christmas decorations whist dressed up in our christmas hats. He is most excited that Santa will be coming to our house he is soo happy as if he has been picked out of all the children in the world Santa has chosen Myles's house to come to and give him presents for being such a good boy this year. To sum it all up we are all thrilled and Christmas can't come soon enough GrinGrinGrinGrinGrin

Seeing what's in their stockings! My son's actually ASKED for a tangerine in his stocking this year.

Lots of things.

The Christmas tree is going up this weekend.
Im taking DD1 Christmas shopping for DH's presents
Then obviously we are apparently having a visit from some guy who wears red one night.
Also we go back to York for a couple of days to see family and the DCs love doing that.
Christmas eve we eat junk and watch Christmas films all day which the DCs enjoy any time of the year, but we make an extra special effort on Xmas eve and go all out with food and stuff.

So really all of them.

My daughter is most looking forwards to having her daddy off of work for ten days :)

dickinson13 · 03/12/2015 21:12

My children would probably say that they are looking forward to decorating the tree as we don't put it up until 12 days before Christmas :)

piggyliggy2015 · 03/12/2015 21:24

My baby girl is only 9 months old, but I think she will love the decorations and lights the most. Oh and wrapping paper!

Flapdoodles · 03/12/2015 21:37

Putting the Christmas decorations up. Both DS and DD love going through all the packaging and getting all the decorations out. We have some chocolate treats to put on the tree too which they love.

pillowaddict · 03/12/2015 23:52

Dd is looking forward to putting up the decorations, the tree and the star at the top. She loves twinkly lights and shiny things!

gemima27 · 04/12/2015 02:14

decorating the tree together

mumsnit · 04/12/2015 08:57

They love it all especially the new PJs which they always get on Christmas Eve, croissants for brekkie Christmas morning and of course the presents Grin

SuzCG · 04/12/2015 09:07

My daughter woke up at the crack of dawn today, excited to take her leading role in this afternoon's Christmas play - she is the curious sheep? My son, who is 9.5 is probably more interested in the food side of Christmas - that boy loves to eat!

Fletch049 · 04/12/2015 10:20

my daughter has been singing about how shes looking forward to opening her presents from santa but loves her mum and dad more than presents its dead cute

serendipity1980 · 04/12/2015 13:54

they are definitely most excited about Father Christmas arriving! They also love the tree buying and cooking and opening other presents too!
