With Cadbury launching their biggest ever advent calendar, Cadbury would like to know which moment over the festive period your DCs are most excited about.

Here's what they say "This year we’re launching Cadbury’s biggest ever advent calendar and setting out to bring even more joy to the countdown this Christmas. 24 trucks, 24 doors, opening daily in 24 different locations, we’re ringing joyful festive surprises to the nation on the countdown to Christmas. While we’re counting down, we’re also keen to hear from Mumsnetters about which festive moment your kids can't wait for"

Find out about the Cadbury advent calendar by watching the video below:

So which festive moment are your DCs most excited about? You might be thrilled at the prospect of some time relaxing at home with your family, but if you asked your children - what would their response be? Perhaps they're dying to decorate the Christmas tree? Or take centre stage at their school nativity play? We're looking for the moments and treats that make Christmas for them, alongside the thrillingness of ripping wrapping off (lots of) presents.

Whichever festive moment your DCs can't wait for, Cadbury would love to hear about it.

Everyone who posts a comment will be entered into a prize draw where one lucky MNer will win a £200 Love2Shop voucher.

Thanks and good luck,
MNHQ

I'll be honest, mine are really looking forward to getting presents!

MakeTeaNotWar · 01/12/2015 22:24

Santa and pressies closely followed by lots of sweet treats & Xmas crackers!!

voyager50 · 01/12/2015 23:32

He is so excited about the Father Christmas and the stocking being filled that he can't get to sleep Christmas Eve and wake up around 5am christmas day wanting to open it!

reni2 · 02/12/2015 00:18

The 1st December, day 1 of the advent calendar. It's the beginning of the exciting time so everything still ahead of them.

EasterRobin · 02/12/2015 04:48

DD is only 11 months so doesn't really know about presents, but she gets super excited about seeing grandparents. She's also a big fan of boxes and paper bags so I think she'll be in for a good time!

Wtfmummy · 02/12/2015 06:00

My boys are super excited every day to open the advent calendar- it's bonkers how exciting a teeny piece of chocolate is! And very very excited by Christmas Eve when we will be putting out a carrot for Rudolph, mince pie and whiskey for Father Christmas.

Quills · 02/12/2015 10:58

I've asked DD1 and she told me she's excited about putting the tree up and getting to put the star on top, having our traditional cheese, crackers and (non-alcoholic) mulled wine on Christmas Eve, and being off school so we can spend lots of time together.

FeelingSmurfy · 02/12/2015 11:13

Going to see father Christmas, because the one we go to is the real one, not one of his helpers Wink

Seeyounearertime · 02/12/2015 11:39

My DD is looking forward to it all tbh.
She's 2.6 and everything is new and exciting, even the crappy £5 tree in her room is the best thing ever. Grin

theshooglypeg · 02/12/2015 13:04

I keep asking my two year old what she wants to do at Christmas: I've told her about decorating the tree, getting presents from Santa, her grandparents visiting. But every time I ask, she lowers her voice, comes closer and whispers "I'm gonna get a little bit of chocolate cake!"

lucyanntrevelyan · 02/12/2015 14:39

Father Christmas coming - the whole excitement of putting out the stockings, the reindeer food, carrot for Rudolf, food and drink for the man himself, and then of course the massive excitement in the morning to see if he's been and what he might have brought.

Maddaddam · 02/12/2015 14:42

DD3 (aged 11) is most excited about the Advent Calendar, which in our house includes an advent fairy who leaves a daily clue with a treat at the end. Treat can be chocolate coin, candy cane, or Christmas decorations to make/hang up etc.

dd1 and dd2, teenagers, are I think most excited about parties with friends this year.

marymanc · 02/12/2015 15:22

My 2 children are excited about Santa coming but they also seemed happy yesterday opening their advent calendar and can wait to decorate the house on Sunday.

NotWeavingButDarning · 02/12/2015 16:07

My DC adore advent. I forget every year how much they love it. They were up at 3 this morning asking if they could open the advent calendar. And then every 15 minutes until I took it into my bedroom in despair

They also get madly excited about decorating the house/tree. They are 7 and 4.

StickChildNumberTwo · 02/12/2015 16:10

I think the most exciting bit of Christmas for my daughter will be seeing her cousin - whether their grandparents' house survives the invasion of two hyper pre-schoolers remains to be seen! Seeing whether Santa brings the requested Elsa everything will no doubt be a close second.

AugustRose · 02/12/2015 16:42

Snuggling down to watch a Christmas film in front of the fire is always lovely.

However, my favourite bit is Christmas morning when DH and I can hear the DCs whispering on the landing as they have opened their doors and found the full stockings :)

It's funny because they whisper as they aren't sure if they should be up or don't want to wake us but we have normally been awake for ages waiting for them. DS2 is only 4 and has become an early riser so I think we may be up pretty early for the first time ever!

AugustRose · 02/12/2015 16:43

Oh I forgot we had Christmas smiles Xmas Smile

Sirzy · 02/12/2015 16:44

I put the outside lights up when Ds was at school today, his face when he saw them on the way home from school was a picture. For him it is all about the lights, and the tinsel and other decorations

Kraggle · 02/12/2015 17:25

My 2 year old is looking forward to putting baubles on the Christmas tree. We're decorating at the weekend and we have bought her her own little tree to decorate for her room. I think I'm more excited than she is!

Hopelass · 02/12/2015 17:26

DS is only 2.1 so does know much about Christmas (apart from what he's learnt on Peppa Pig) however I've had to hide the advent calendar as if he had his way he'd open all the doors and eat all the chocolates at once! He was beside himself the last couple of days being able to open it and get a chocolate.

Behooven · 02/12/2015 17:27

Christmas Eve! You know that moment when all the decs are up, and the house smells like Christmas - my DS loves that time because of the glorious anticipation. Grin

DD1 loves Christmas Eve mass and waits to see Baby Jesus when he is been introduced to the children! :) I don't know somehow she is so crazy about it and she has tears almost every time when she sees Baby Jesus raised above in father's hand! That's the most exciting part about Christmas for her and same this time:)

Strictly1 · 02/12/2015 17:29

Definitely decorating his own Christmas tree; it looks like Rudolph threw up but he loves it!

heymammy · 02/12/2015 17:29

Everything! They are desperate to get the tree up but don't particularly enjoy decorating it, we have a xmas eve tradition of going into town so they are excited about that and singing xmas songs at school/nursery Xmas Smile
