With Cadbury launching their biggest ever advent calendar, Cadbury would like to know which moment over the festive period your DCs are most excited about.

Here's what they say "This year we’re launching Cadbury’s biggest ever advent calendar and setting out to bring even more joy to the countdown this Christmas. 24 trucks, 24 doors, opening daily in 24 different locations, we’re ringing joyful festive surprises to the nation on the countdown to Christmas. While we’re counting down, we’re also keen to hear from Mumsnetters about which festive moment your kids can't wait for"

Find out about the Cadbury advent calendar by watching the video below:

So which festive moment are your DCs most excited about? You might be thrilled at the prospect of some time relaxing at home with your family, but if you asked your children - what would their response be? Perhaps they're dying to decorate the Christmas tree? Or take centre stage at their school nativity play? We're looking for the moments and treats that make Christmas for them, alongside the thrillingness of ripping wrapping off (lots of) presents.

Whichever festive moment your DCs can't wait for, Cadbury would love to hear about it.

Everyone who posts a comment will be entered into a prize draw where one lucky MNer will win a £200 Love2Shop voucher.

Thanks and good luck,
MNHQ

Our four children love all the baking we do together in the few days before Christmas. It started as something to keep them occupied before Christmas, now it's a family tradition, they do most of it by themselves now, and the results are very tasty! Their favourite thing to make is star topped all butter pastry mince pies, although dd2 puts jam in hers as she has a strong aversion to raisins Grin

Everything! If I tied tinsel to the toilet brush they'd be fighting over who gets to do a Christmas toilet clean

My dc are really excited for the school Christmas show and the advent calendars have been a big hit!

ImNotAFlower · 05/12/2015 07:59

Getting the tree!
We go to a lovely christmas tree farm locally who have real reindeer and christmas activities for the kids, also a Santa and copious amounts of hot chocolate and decorations for sale.
It is such a lovely few hours that we all look forward to, then home to put the tree up and watch a Christmassy film.
It's certainly my favourite day before Christmas Day Grin

I could list a few things in the build up to Christmas but the one thing that really stands out is the start of opening the advent calendar. As they got older I expected their enthusiasm for actually having one each to dwindle but to my surprise (and delight) it hasn't! This means that during the month of December they get out of bed without any problems and are always ready for school on time. December mornings are lovely and all because they get to have one small piece of chocolate before breakfast!

It's always something unexpected, totally unplanned, that they look back on and say 'that was the best thing about Christmas this year'. One year, we had to queue for ages for a special Christmas event (supposed to be about the science of Christmas and tracking Santa as he flew around the world...) and so I kept them amused in the queue by telling stories.

What was the best thing that year? "Aunty Silverstones told us a story about how mum went to India and ate so much curry that she was sick."

We love going to my mums house for Christmas dinner. We go every year. Even DS1 says its the best but of Christmas. (DD and DS2 are babies)
I love being with my family and seeing my youngest DB. And DS1 loves finding out what Santa has left under nans tree and what magical pudding she's rustled up for after dinner. Last year she made an igloo cake with penguins and a snowman and Santa ice fishing Grin

Currently, it's the prospect of putting decorations up. We've got a small tree for their room, this year.

ChessieFL · 05/12/2015 13:57

DD and I are looking forward to snuggling up together on Christmas Eve and watching The Snowman, with mugs of hot chocolate.

TelephoneIgnoringMachine · 05/12/2015 17:41

DD loves "helping" us to decorate the tree. I love wrapping the presents & seeing the growing pile of them after she's gone to bed on Christmas eve.

Toomanycats99 · 05/12/2015 19:56

My 4 and 8 year old girls were most looking forward to their elves arriving. Now they are here they rush down every morning to see what they have been up too!

GetKnitted · 05/12/2015 20:52

littlest DS (4yo) is definitely most excited about the FACT that it is DEFINITELY going to snow on Christmas day....

No, we are not going to lapland...

This is the first year my children (age 9) have saved up enough to completely pay for all the presents they are giving and they are beyond excited about seeing us open them.

interrobang · 05/12/2015 23:27

LumpySpaceCow · 06/12/2015 05:28

sealight123 · 06/12/2015 13:06

mortimer96634 · 06/12/2015 18:12

Opening their presents.

Ganne1 · 06/12/2015 18:13

When we lived in a small village on the outskirts of the large city where we now live, they always looked forward to an old gentleman calling in dressed as Father Christmas. At one time I'm sure it was the local policeman who did it!

Liquorice13 · 06/12/2015 18:21

My 7 year old daughter is very excited about putting up the tree and the decorations

TracyKNixon · 06/12/2015 18:26

My kids love it when we light our little lantern in the early hours of Christmas morning then we carry it as we head quiety downstairs to see if Santa has been! We have to be very quite as we would hate to make him jump if he was still there! They also love checking the tray of treats they left out for Santa and the reindeers then night before. There is only ever crumbs left, a carrot stalk and an empty glass!

andywedge · 06/12/2015 18:29
