With Cadbury launching their biggest ever advent calendar, Cadbury would like to know which moment over the festive period your DCs are most excited about.

Here's what they say "This year we’re launching Cadbury’s biggest ever advent calendar and setting out to bring even more joy to the countdown this Christmas. 24 trucks, 24 doors, opening daily in 24 different locations, we’re ringing joyful festive surprises to the nation on the countdown to Christmas. While we’re counting down, we’re also keen to hear from Mumsnetters about which festive moment your kids can't wait for"

Find out about the Cadbury advent calendar by watching the video below:

So which festive moment are your DCs most excited about? You might be thrilled at the prospect of some time relaxing at home with your family, but if you asked your children - what would their response be? Perhaps they're dying to decorate the Christmas tree? Or take centre stage at their school nativity play? We're looking for the moments and treats that make Christmas for them, alongside the thrillingness of ripping wrapping off (lots of) presents.

Whichever festive moment your DCs can't wait for, Cadbury would love to hear about it.

Everyone who posts a comment will be entered into a prize draw where one lucky MNer will win a £200 Love2Shop voucher.

Thanks and good luck,
MNHQ

Going to get the tree and then the chaos that ensues when they decorate. Which I then rearrange when they're not around! Also the local Christmas tree festival, a beautiful old church filled with decorated trees from local groups. Advent calendars, nativity plays etc...

mshell1231 · 02/12/2015 23:12

My eldest two children are looking forward to the elves getting up to mischief throughout December. My youngest is 1 year old this week so she's got all the excitement yet to come!!

heyday · 02/12/2015 23:15

My little one loves putting out the snacks for Santa and Rudolph. A mince pie and a Yakult drink for Santa and a mince pie and a raisin for Rudolph this year he informs me. Why, oh why, is it just so hard to go to sleep on Chrustmas Eve?????? It's just soooooo exciting!!!!!!!!

FingerOFudge · 02/12/2015 23:18

it's the waking up on Christmas morning - know that they have it all still to come. It's the best day of the year apparently, and not just because of the presents. it's having everyone there, together and happy for the day.

AlmaMartyr · 02/12/2015 23:20

My son cannot wait for the Christmas tree to go up. My daughter is very excited about playing board games together as a family and time off school.

shoebedo434 · 02/12/2015 23:31

my 3 year old is Spiderman mad at the moment, he can't wait all his Spiderman goodies especially the Spiderman walkie talkies. He also is looking to see Santa and decorating the tree

So Many Factors! Its The Whole Build Up! The Advent Calenders, The Elf On The Shelf, Decorating, Baking, Christmas Card Writing And Receiving, Christmas Crafts! But Here's What My Children Had To Say For Themselves:

---------------
Son (Age: 4) = "Urrrrm, I'm Excited For Getting My Shopkins And Getting That Book I Want." -Honest 4 Year Old Right There Xmas Grin

Daughter (Age:3) = "All Of It."

I Ask Her... "But What Are You Most Excited About...??"

Daughter..... = "Opening A Kitten"
-------------------
So By Vast Majority.... Opening Presents!
P.S (There Shall Be No Kittens) Xmas Confused

P.P.S Season Greetings Everyone Xmas Smile [santa]

lorka · 03/12/2015 00:53

My daughter has been so excited for her advent calendar this year - she has a Lego one as well as a chocolate one. Xmas Smile Chocolate She even bought the hamster one!! Xmas Grin

spanglisher · 03/12/2015 03:09

Decorating the tree. We don't buy our tree until mid-December but my youngest has been asking every day for the last month whether we can get the tree yet

VaseandCandle · 03/12/2015 06:16

DS is 2 and probably doesn't get Christmas, but keeps talking about seeing his grandparents and cousins

ladygracie · 03/12/2015 06:56

My children are spending Christmas with their dad this year. My daughter is excited to see her younger sister open her stockings and presents. My son loves Christmas Eve as we always go to a friend's house for the afternoon which is lovely.

MooseyMooDrapedInTinsel · 03/12/2015 07:14

DD is really looking forward to choosing a Christmas tree and then decorating it. She loves to unwrap all the decorations for the tree and get covered in glitter

Reubymum · 03/12/2015 07:31

My eldest 2 1/2 is just discovering Christmas. He loves Father Christmas but doesn't quite get the present idea yet. He soon will I am sure. When writing his letter he asked for a Christmas tree!!

kerryanna · 03/12/2015 08:56

Where to begin, DS is Just too excited for words. He is just four so has some understanding and you can just see how much he believes in all of the Magic. This year we are doing Elf on the Shelf and we are on day 3, he thinks its great hunting for a hiding "Mingles" the elf every morning. He is loving his Advent calendar and scoffs his brekkie down in a blink of an eye so that he can open it. But mostly he is looking forward to seeing the big man himself. Santa sent DS a message via the Portable North Pole telling him that his favourite treat are cookies so yesterday I didn't have a choice but to do a "Cookie Test Run" as DS knows that we have a short appointment to meet Santa and he wants to take him cookies, which I think is just lovely of him.

Putting the Christmas tree and decorations up.DD loves to look at the decorations we've collected over the years, and those she's made. She instructs us where everything goes and is very fussy about putting things in the 'right' place.
We have Christmas music, hot chocolate and then sit down to a Christmas movie.

over40andmumtoone · 03/12/2015 09:30

My son can't wait for Christmas Eve, we go to the Crib Service and come home to sprinkle reindeer food in the garden and then get cosy on the sofa with hot chocolate. He's as excited about this as he is about the big man delivering presents on Christmas Day.

ALemonyPea · 03/12/2015 09:48

My DC love most things about Christmas. My middle child has SN and counts down from January.

They love Christmas Eve where we go out for breakfast, go to the cinema and then for a long walk.

They love decorating the tree and doing advent calendars.

Loulabellet78 · 03/12/2015 10:03

My 18 month old son looks forward to opening his advent calendar every day. He can't say 'chocolate' yet so goes running up to it and asks for 'cake!'

HannahLI · 03/12/2015 10:25

They are most excited about the Christmas nativity and they ahve been practising their songs and actions, and the star dance for weeks!

JessGG · 03/12/2015 10:40

Defnitely Father Christmas paying us a visit! My boys have been so excited to send him letters and can't wait to leave a pie and carrot out on Christmas Eve - and see their stockings on Christmas morning of course!

villagefox · 03/12/2015 10:56

My son is looking forward to the annual village lights switch on. Santa sails across the pond as the lights go on and then is taken by the elves to the Primary School where children can meet him and enjoy the annual Scouts Christmas fayre.

lovemycrazykids · 03/12/2015 10:56

Finally opening the advent calenders I bought in beginning of November! The Christmas fair at their school, but the biggest thing they are looking forward to going to Nanny's for Christmas and seeing all the family as she doesnt live near to us.

OolonColluphid · 03/12/2015 11:34

We do a walk round the neighbourhood looking at Christmas lights on Christmas eve, and all look forward to it .
