With Cadbury launching their biggest ever advent calendar, Cadbury would like to know which moment over the festive period your DCs are most excited about.

Here's what they say "This year we’re launching Cadbury’s biggest ever advent calendar and setting out to bring even more joy to the countdown this Christmas. 24 trucks, 24 doors, opening daily in 24 different locations, we’re ringing joyful festive surprises to the nation on the countdown to Christmas. While we’re counting down, we’re also keen to hear from Mumsnetters about which festive moment your kids can't wait for"

Find out about the Cadbury advent calendar by watching the video below:

So which festive moment are your DCs most excited about? You might be thrilled at the prospect of some time relaxing at home with your family, but if you asked your children - what would their response be? Perhaps they're dying to decorate the Christmas tree? Or take centre stage at their school nativity play? We're looking for the moments and treats that make Christmas for them, alongside the thrillingness of ripping wrapping off (lots of) presents.

Whichever festive moment your DCs can't wait for, Cadbury would love to hear about it.

Everyone who posts a comment will be entered into a prize draw where one lucky MNer will win a £200 Love2Shop voucher.

Thanks and good luck,
MNHQ

FranksBobot · 02/12/2015 19:08

My eldest who is 9 is most looking forward to presents!! We saw Santa at the weekend and she asked him for a globe and pogo stick so is really hoping that's what he brings.
My youngest will be 1 just before Christmas so will probably just want to eat the wrapping paper and play with boxes!

babster · 02/12/2015 19:14

Mine love putting the tree up. They always argue over whose turn it is to put the star on top, and have an uncanny knack of remembering who did it the previous year. I am totally clueless and hope it has more or less turned out fairly! Chocolate decorations get added a few days before Christmas, otherwise they would never see Christmas Day :)

k8vincent · 02/12/2015 19:14

Getting the tree and bringing it home. They think they get to decorate it - little do they know!

We do Christmas Day in a big old hall with lots of others and the kids love helping decorate that - they are allowed that one!

My DD is so excited about finally being able to have access to her advent calendar. Also, we turned on our lights on the outside of our house yesterday. There are only a few lights but we have to make it into an occasion and make hot chocolate for the kids (Cadburys, of course!!) and we get mulled wine.

My DC are most excited about their Xmas day jobs. All the DC and my nephew/ niece who join us have little roles to help out at Christmas and they take them very seriously. We have drinks waiters, canapé servers, starters, mains and dessers waiters. They all help with tidying up.

They range from 4 to 12 and the dishing out of jobs and discussion of whose job is most important has become quite a big part of Christmas. Its lovely, it helps out the adults enormously and they genuinely enjoy the responsibility.

We have a very full house with a big family and always a few very welcome extras that find themselves at a loose end. The diverse group, a little alcohol (which no doubt helps relaxation) and happy children is always a lovely thing.

Like others, def the tree and all other decorations!

And they love the school Christmas fair.

And then Christmas crackers.

In fact, I could make Christmas much cheaper quite easily HmmGrin

Bubbles2002 · 02/12/2015 19:38

My son is most excited about opening his stocking.

treg · 02/12/2015 19:44

Mine are looking forward to our usual drive around town to see the Christmas lights and our usual Christmas Eve trip to the cinema, Star Wars this year, can't wait!

Alfieisnoisy · 02/12/2015 19:50

Our family festive event is the 20th December which is DS's birthday and he is in a state of increasing excitement as it approaches each year. This year he is even worse as he knows he may be getting a coveted XboxOne. The excitement is palpable.

Generally he loves the start of Christmas and cannot wait to get the Christmas tree up. He loves helping to decorate it and switching all the the lights on.

December is an exciting month for him.

Fleur78 · 02/12/2015 19:50

The race to get down stairs and find the door to open on their identical chocolate advent calendars is on!

peronel · 02/12/2015 19:51

Waking up at 4 a.m. and opening their stockings!

Missydurrani · 02/12/2015 19:54

My son is excited about seeing the Santa in tow and then the Xmas lights at night time as well

Didiusfalco · 02/12/2015 19:56

DS is finding the whole thing massively exciting. He loved starting his advent calendar, and on the walk to school we have to count all the Christmas trees that we can see (have a feeling the number will grow!) He is currently pretending to be an elf crafting 'toys' out of his lego, and hanging his own socks on the door handles. Christmas is magical when you're 5!

mejon · 02/12/2015 20:04

The DDs are looking forward to visiting Santa when he comes to the museum where I work on the 19th and taking part in the school Christmas show that they've been rehearsing for for what seems like weeks.

RustyParker · 02/12/2015 20:06

DS (8) is looking forward to our Christmas Eve basket which I fill with chocolates, new pjs, dvds and a small present. We usually do something fun on Christmas Eve, this year going to see the new Star Wars so this sets the scene.

Apart from presents on the day itself, DS most looks forward to the chocolate in his stocking! Such a simple thing but it's something he really loves; all that chocolate to himself!

BackInTheRealWorld · 02/12/2015 20:07

Christmas Eve. After their bath they get their Christmas pyjamas and open their Christmas Eve present which is always a new family game. We play that for a while and open the Christmas chocolates. We all look forward to Christmas Eve.
IT ALL STARTS THEN!

Littlepinkpear · 02/12/2015 20:08

Grandparents arriving means Christmas has started but collecting the tree seems to kick start the excitement levels!

peakypie · 02/12/2015 20:11

my eldest is really looking forward to putting the tree up and decorating the house and meeting father xmas. my youngest doesnt really have a clue what it's all about, but loves getting a chocolate from his advent calendar!

kierie · 02/12/2015 20:12

We celebrate solstice, so my LO is looking forward to then! We'll have the family round for dinner and he gets a solstice box (bit like a stocking) full of bits to keep him busy. We do lots as a family, like walking in the woods and baking for our special dinner.

ellenjames · 02/12/2015 20:20

My dc are looking forward to all the usual rituals and festivities but are also looking forward to donating the money from what I would normally spend on stockings each (£15) to a charity of their choice. The only thing is now they have another Christmas decision to deliberate over Smile

chickensandbees · 02/12/2015 20:20

Leaving the carrot for the reindeer and mince pie for Father Christmas.
Opening presents.
Eating chocolate.

NeededANameChangeAnyway · 02/12/2015 20:20

For DS (2) it has to be Santa coming and bringing him presents! He doesn't know about the tree yet...that is going to send him into orbit Grin

lottietiger · 02/12/2015 20:21

Well it was decorating the tree which we have just completed, he was super excited when he saw there was a hoppy reindeer in the lounge..he had it last year but was too young to remember. Now it's unwrapping presents, not just his but everyone's it's going to be frenzied and hard to stop I can see it now!! :) strangely when you ask him what he would like he says he doesn't need anything although mummy would like rail track and daddy a new cho choo train ;)

SouthWestmom · 02/12/2015 20:26

Crackers. Sitting down to lunch and they all itch to pull the things. We but boxes of them to satisfy the urge and a giant one for just before lunch. A box each in their stockings would be the best thing ever!
