With Cadbury launching their biggest ever advent calendar, Cadbury would like to know which moment over the festive period your DCs are most excited about.

Here's what they say "This year we’re launching Cadbury’s biggest ever advent calendar and setting out to bring even more joy to the countdown this Christmas. 24 trucks, 24 doors, opening daily in 24 different locations, we’re ringing joyful festive surprises to the nation on the countdown to Christmas. While we’re counting down, we’re also keen to hear from Mumsnetters about which festive moment your kids can't wait for"

Find out about the Cadbury advent calendar by watching the video below:

So which festive moment are your DCs most excited about? You might be thrilled at the prospect of some time relaxing at home with your family, but if you asked your children - what would their response be? Perhaps they're dying to decorate the Christmas tree? Or take centre stage at their school nativity play? We're looking for the moments and treats that make Christmas for them, alongside the thrillingness of ripping wrapping off (lots of) presents.

Whichever festive moment your DCs can't wait for, Cadbury would love to hear about it.

Everyone who posts a comment will be entered into a prize draw where one lucky MNer will win a £200 Love2Shop voucher.

Thanks and good luck,
MNHQ

DS is 3.11 and so this is the first Christmas he knows what's happening. He can't wait to meet Santa and I think this year will be really special Xmas Grin

MrsJ2000 · 02/12/2015 18:12

putting up the Christmas tree - they know this signals the real start to the festivities . From then on its visits to Santa's grotto, visiting the reindeer, going to the garden centre to see all the decorations and lights. Going to the Christmas switch on of lights in the town, parties and festive food - not to mention all the presents that appear under the tree

DC have a countdown not only to Christmas Day, but also to Christmas Eve, which they say is their favourite part of Christmas. They eagerly anticipate the feelings of anticipation Grin

CathyGlynn · 02/12/2015 18:12

DC is so excited every morning when she opens her advent calendar and is willing me to put the decorations up. I think the anticipation of Santa coming is still exciting for her at 10 years.

sallyst123 · 02/12/2015 18:15

my ypungest dc are looking forward to our annual visit to panto& afterwards grotto.
my eldest is just really excited about decorating the house, shes getting to do her own tree this year so has been planning colours etc

Sixgeese · 02/12/2015 18:16

DS (age 10) is looking forward to going to Winter Wonderland with his Scout troop, while for the girls (aged 8 and 6) the Christmas celebrations begin with the school Christmas fete followed by their Greatest Grandma (my Grandma) coming to stay in London for a few weeks to celebrate Christmas with us.

zarinebedford · 02/12/2015 18:20

My son Ajax is most excited about seeing the Christmas Tree all lit up and decorated with chocolates and of course all the gifts which will stack up by then ready to be opened on Christmas Day Xmas Wink

MrFMercury · 02/12/2015 18:21

My DDs 8&9 both love decorating the tree and writing cards but their (and our) favourite bit of Christmas is opening our stockings on Christmas morning. They both bring their stockings in to our room so we can all take it in turns to open daft little presents and eat any chocolate we might find in there for first breakfast. Like Hobbits there will be second breakfast once we're downstairs :)

chanice · 02/12/2015 18:23

Looking forward to...time off school to chill at home. Don't celebrate Xmas so the festive period for us is more about family time. Also they look forward to the possibilities of snow.

BuffaloCustardbath · 02/12/2015 18:24

My little one is too young to get excited about anything in anticipation, but she is absolutely loving spotting Christmas trees and twinkly lights, every morning is great excitement when she gets to open the next window in her advent calendar and find her elf who is hiding somewhere different each day.

MegBusset · 02/12/2015 18:25

Mine are excited about getting the Christmas tree in this weekend and decorating it. But to be honest they're most excited about the presents - giving and receiving!

LeBoob · 02/12/2015 18:26

My 3 year old can't decide whether she's more excited about her baby brother arriving or Santa! Luckily the advent calendar is providing enough daily excitement to see her through at the minute! Everyone loves chocolate before breakfast!

Longdistance · 02/12/2015 18:31

My girls are really excited about going away to a Christmas market. We're going to Nice this year for the weekend.
We've been to the Hyde Park one two years running now, but feel it's getting very busy, and pricey.
So, we've booked to go away to do something instead.
Sunshine included, and they have a big Ferris wheel and rides. And my girls love a pancake, so crepes all round Xmas Grin

StandUnderMyUmbrella · 02/12/2015 18:33

My 10 year old loves the whole shopping for her presents basically!!We love doing the tree up and this year, we are letting her have her own little tree in her bedroom, which she is excited about! xx

BeeMyBaby · 02/12/2015 18:36

I think my DDs are most looking forward to their school Christmas fair Smile

Fumnudge · 02/12/2015 18:37

My dd said 23rd of December as you really know Christmas is nearly here!

CharleyDavidson · 02/12/2015 18:38

Definitely excited about the advent calendar. It's really easy to get my kids up in December. I wake them up with a 'Hello, it's x sleeps til Christmas now' (or til the end of term sometimes first if they seem to be flagging.

We do panto trips and church trips which are lovely and festive.

Lariflete · 02/12/2015 18:47

DD has been asked by a couple of people what she wants for Christmas, and each time she has said that she is just looking forward to the tree and the lights!
She loves Holly (our Elf on the Shelf) who brings Advent Activities each day and is jumping out of bed to find her each morning.

Twigadee · 02/12/2015 18:48

My boys are looking forward to finally decorating the tree and their grandparents visiting on Christmas day...

Oh, and the presents...

Putting up the tree and decorating it with homemade mementos from previous years

Imnotaslimjim · 02/12/2015 18:59

My 2 DC are looking forward to visiting family, having dinner with the in-laws (as am I) then slumping in front of the TV on boxing day and just relaxing

ButterflyOfFreedom · 02/12/2015 19:05

Singing the Christmas songs in the pre school Christmas concert! DS (3) has been practicing (loudly) for weeks now!
