To celebrate the re-launch of the Bassetts Vitamins range for all the family, they'd like you to share on this thread what you do with your DC (young or old) on a rainy day.

Do check out the video one of our bloggers made for them

Bassetts Vitamins say "we think family life is all about big puddles, big mud, big adventures, big tree-houses, big imaginations, big games, big days out, big messes, big noises and big fun - now we'd love to hear what fun times you and your family get up to when it's raining outside".

As the range includes vitamin products for all ages from 6 months, they'd love to hear from you, whatever age your DC are - whether they are teens or toddlers - what do you do or encourage your DC to do when it's all grey and rainy outside?

Add your comment to the thread and you'll be entered into a prize draw where one MNer will win a £300 voucher for John Lewis.

Thanks and good luck.

we snuggle on the sofa and watch a dvd under a duvet :)

buckley1983 · 30/11/2015 21:28

If it's just a shower.. we head out in our wellies for a splash around! If it's torrential though, we hide out in the conservatory & do some colouring in or playdoh while we watch the rain battering the windows! :)

cagsd · 01/12/2015 08:33

Much though I'd love to say that we get creative with crafts, or pull on wellys and jump in puddles, with 3 boys aged 8-15 all that tends to happen on a rainy day is that they play on the Xbox or watch DVDs!!!

jodiecrossley1 · 01/12/2015 10:14

painting or baking!

Inanutshell · 01/12/2015 12:28

If it's not too bad, we put on our wellies and go out anyway. Otherwise:

Local museum/aquarium
Soft play
Painting
Baking
Lego
Play doh (which we might make ourselves, if I'm feeling particularly crafty/motivated)

And if really bad, we build a fort, get cosy in front of a film and drink hot chocolate!

BL0SS0M · 01/12/2015 12:50

Arts and crafts, baking or...the museum for the hundredth time!!

sofieellis · 01/12/2015 14:18

Board games have always been a favourite in our house. We like to play them in the conservatory, where we can see and hear the rain pelting down - it's quite atmospheric!

Also getting them to help with dinner, eg topping their own pizzas or filling their own fajitas. Then sniggling up to watch a movie together, with a selection of healthy (and a few not so healthy!) treats.

HALA · 01/12/2015 15:53

stay indoors and do painting/ reading/ craft activities. Or watching a movie.

jandoc · 01/12/2015 21:38

we visit friends and try to keep the kids amused

EasterRobin · 02/12/2015 04:53

DD loves the sound of rain on the pram rainhood (like she's sitting inside a conservatory) so as long as it isn't too windy I pick a time when the rain is quite light and we go for a nice walk.

Stoodles · 02/12/2015 07:57

I don;t know if he is is a good idea, but I take apart a set of strong shelves and use them to make an indoor assault course, aiming to get round the living room without touching the floor

Couldashouldawoulda · 02/12/2015 09:36

Place marking!

ha2el · 02/12/2015 15:53

We like to go swimming at the leisure centre or if staying at home we like to do baking or re-enact stories.

Anderson8 · 02/12/2015 16:52

Getting the wellies and rain suits on and getting wet and dirty.

chanice · 02/12/2015 18:34

Walk across the road to mum in-laws and chill.

Cocacolaandchocolate · 02/12/2015 18:54

Baking, painting. A welly walk and find the biggest puddle! Rainy days are just as fun

emmamcmahon · 02/12/2015 21:36

Make cakes, play UNO, watch films, colour in, play Lego. Whatever we fancy on the day!

QuickQuickSloe · 02/12/2015 21:54

On our last rainy day we built an epic marble run in the bath, we are in there for over an hour!

VaseandCandle · 03/12/2015 06:18

If it's not too cold, we wrap up in water proofs and go out and play in the park anyway. Add in the cold and we probably stay inside or go to a museum

Pmliu · 03/12/2015 10:13

watch a movie, play games with my little ones

LinnyBee · 03/12/2015 14:12

We always try to get out, but if it's really bad weather we do finger painting, make fairy cakes and play games.

My son particularly loves sitting in the washing basket with me pulling him along, he likes to think he's in a dingy!

SisterConcepta · 03/12/2015 16:19

Sometimes we go camping in the living room when it's raining. Tents made of blankets, sleeping bags and a "fire" surrounded by cushions to sit on while telling made up stories.

strawberrisc · 03/12/2015 17:49

When she was really little we would go out anyway. She loved Peppa Pig's "Muddy Puddles" and couldn't wait to get out herself in her wellies.

Now she's a Tweenager there's no way I could get her out in the rain! We stay in while she forces me to make "Video Stars" recordings with her and shows me all her latest Youtube finds.

Ren1974 · 03/12/2015 22:27

Baking, arts and crafts, hide the teddy, board games, snuggle up with a movie, living room "disco" - lots and lots to do on a rainy day!!

mumsnit · 03/12/2015 22:37

I usually try and drag them out to the Garden Centre or other indoor activity but doesn't always appeal! Otherwise we try not to have too much screen time and we get the dressing up box out, board games and craft stuff.

Can't beat popcorn and a film for a rainy day though!
