To celebrate the re-launch of the Bassetts Vitamins range for all the family, they'd like you to share on this thread what you do with your DC (young or old) on a rainy day.

Do check out the video one of our bloggers made for them

Bassetts Vitamins say "we think family life is all about big puddles, big mud, big adventures, big tree-houses, big imaginations, big games, big days out, big messes, big noises and big fun - now we'd love to hear what fun times you and your family get up to when it's raining outside".

As the range includes vitamin products for all ages from 6 months, they'd love to hear from you, whatever age your DC are - whether they are teens or toddlers - what do you do or encourage your DC to do when it's all grey and rainy outside?

Add your comment to the thread and you'll be entered into a prize draw where one MNer will win a £300 voucher for John Lewis.

Thanks and good luck.

I set up a treasure hunt around the house for my son - he loves it :)

BathshebaDarkstone · 29/11/2015 08:26

Mine are at school, but after school and at weekends we get wrapped up and jump in puddles!

Recently we've been picking up pine cones on a short walk outside - 4 year old collects and 1 year old makes a dash for it in his all in one. Once 1 year old has eaten enough pine needles and mud, we go back inside and slowly, slowly we are trying to make Christmas decorations: so far they are painted white. I imagine that they will be constructed into beautiful winter animals. They may end up as a decorative pile of pine cones, painted white.

We like baking, decorating biscuits, crafts, lego and playing board games

clarem100 · 29/11/2015 09:58

Living in a very wet part of the country, we just go about our days as normal. Of course having the full range of waterproofs helps. We particularly love going to the sea shore and sploshing in the rock pools. When it gets too much (usually for me) we do lots of painting and sticking things to paper. Baking is another way of passing the time on a rainy afternoon, and if all else fails, a snuggle on the sofa watching Jungle Book

At this time of year, you can't beat a day out to a festive Christmas fayre and a visit to Santa Claus 😀

mrspremise · 29/11/2015 14:04

We live on the west coast of Wales where the rain seems to come in sideways over the Irish sea... Rainy days for us mean board games round the table and gallons of hot chocolate as the weather batters the windows...

sian164 · 29/11/2015 14:08

Bake cupcakes :)

cheryl100 · 29/11/2015 14:22

We love baking, crafting and watching DVD's! I love a good rainy day - when we spend time together inside it feels like more quality time together

neonitrix · 29/11/2015 15:55

rain is only rain and snow is only snow go out and enjoy your day or build a pillow fort instead and bring the outside inside.

Film day is our favourite. Although today we have braved the hell of town to find Ds some winter clothes. We usually like to pop to a cafe for lunch if we're feeling restless. We love board games (labryinth, bugs in the kitchen, cluedo & frustration are favourites), dd loves drawing, Ds loves puzzles and mazes so I make sure we have those in, and a family jigsaw on the dining table with hot chocolates and snacks.
On absolutely dire days when they're arguing non stop I make us all walk the dog (even the dog hates being wet). If things are still bad, it's off to soft play hell. Although by the time we get there it's half empty and emptying quickly as everyone leaves.
One if my dsis is moving nearby soon. They could have their cousins over on rainy days!

We keep a bag of junk modelling stuff in the garage (shoe boxes, breakfast cereal, yogurt pots etc) we get these out and make impressive things like rockets, shops whatever the want, just let their imagination run wild.we paint them and then the children play with them once they have finished with them we recycle all that can be.

BananaDaiquiri · 29/11/2015 18:18

well we may still go out in wellies and waterproofs. if not, baking and crafts.

pixiewolfe · 29/11/2015 19:19

I like indoor activities like museums and theatre more then outside activities anyway

chrin · 29/11/2015 19:59

watch films chill out and do some crafting activity

toodles60 · 29/11/2015 20:08

I'm a crafter and on a rainy day thats what we do. My kids have become really good at card making and have made all their own christmas cards for friends. They love to do it and sometimes i long for a rainy day so that we can get together as a family and craft.

kerryv · 29/11/2015 20:13

Any arts and craft activity. Today we created a dinosaur.

Ikea1234 · 29/11/2015 20:17

We bake and then put a movie on and eat the finished result...yum!

shoebedo434 · 29/11/2015 20:22

we like to bake, we make spiderman cup cakes, minion biscuits, mince pies and our favourite banana loaf. the best bit is licking the bowl!

Katiekatiekatiekay · 29/11/2015 20:27

House turns into a soft play centre, kids are so active they need to burn off energy. Matress on the stairs, cushions on the floor, hide & seek, long bath time

HelenSw4les · 29/11/2015 20:29

Family games, jigsaws and lots of scrummy baking for daddy occupy our wet days at home.

daisyduck123 · 29/11/2015 20:40

Painting, crafts, cooking or get our wellies on and go puddle jumping
