Cadbury’s Marvellous Smashables have asked us to find out how you get the whole family together for a cosy night in.

Here’s what they say, "New Cadbury’s Marvellous Smashables are a fun way for all the family to get involved, so we’d love to hear from Mumsnetters about how they encourage the whole family to enjoy a family night in."

So, what do you do to ensure your busy family spends time together? Do you make sure everyone's favourite meal - or dessert - is on the menu? Perhaps there's a TV show that's guaranteed to gather you all in one place? Or do you use more direct tactics like bribery?! Maybe you cut off supply to the wifi or have made the lounge or kitchen an irresistably cosy place to congregate?

Everyone who posts on this thread will be entered into a prize draw to win a £200 Love2Shop voucher!

Thanks

A good film and a few hanging bags of chocolate shared between us and we're all set for a night in.

JoJoY · 12/10/2015 16:48

A fun film, snacks and snuggly blankets!

lindseystuart85 · 12/10/2015 16:59

We LOVE family evenings in! We light the candles, Make sure the heating is on at a comfortable heat, take our duvets down to the living room, often have a take away (Indian) Lots of movies at the ready and lots of Munchies We are loving Cadbury's marvelous creations at the moment.

Get the grandchildren round, We pull the sofa round, In the winter blast the fire out, Get out the crisps, pop, chocolate and sweets. Choose a good comedy film, and enjoy our time together.

hannonle · 12/10/2015 17:29

They're a bit young for 'nights in' because they are in bed by then, but we do have 'movie time' when they have a movie on and get to eat their tea in front of the tv. It's a special treat.

purplediva · 12/10/2015 17:38

we have a buffet each week that strictly is on - i lay the buffet out in front of us and we watch strictly come dancing while eating and chatting about the dances - its our autumn/winter routine and its not the same when its finished and we try it

Lauzipop1 · 12/10/2015 18:02

We get in some treats like chocolate, sweets and crisps and after some disagreement it will either be movie night snuggled under blankets or playing the Wii and some of the party or dance games. Always such a great laugh.

AnimalAddict · 12/10/2015 18:18

Movie night with lots of yummy treats :)

spottypjs · 12/10/2015 18:18

A takeaway or something lovely that we all enjoy, some chocolate and some decent tv.

Crown · 12/10/2015 18:56

Sat in front of the TV with warm drinks and a film.

nettymay · 12/10/2015 19:28

We play loads of games (tv off) and read each other stories. Finishing off the evening with a sing song and cups of cocoa!

2Warriorsandawish · 12/10/2015 19:37

Snuggle up on sofa with a good movie and some tasty treats!

clarejw24 · 12/10/2015 19:41

Friday night is pizza night. We make our own and decorate them and all play board games.

renas · 12/10/2015 19:46

vixxx666 · 12/10/2015 19:51

popcorn, crisps, sweets & fizzy pop. curtains shut. lights off. movie on. the kids love it, they say it's better than the cinemas!

arat · 12/10/2015 19:52

Spend your money on what you need, not what others think you ought to be buying

arat · 12/10/2015 19:55

Sorry, please ignore previous post on wrong thread!

This one should have said, pizzas, board games & card games.

strawberrisc · 12/10/2015 20:20

The best family nights in (myself and my daughter) are the luxury ones. Every now and then we order in and I let her pick the film to watch!

mave · 12/10/2015 20:26

We watch strictly with lots of treats and cuddles!!

Maclairey · 12/10/2015 20:30

Love a good takeaway, a decent movie and some chocolate and wine (for me).

Kem99 · 12/10/2015 20:32

That's a night to break out the chocolate and pop. Usually after a takeaway and always with something to watch on tv like a premier or dvd that we've not seen before.

sarah861421 · 12/10/2015 20:41

as they are now teenagers it tends to revolve a film or tv series. This then leads onto conversations at dinner

haidienlewis26 · 12/10/2015 20:44

We get a takeaway and a DVD. As a working mum to 3 boys we never seem to have a night where we are all together so Saturday's are always our night.

giraffesarefab · 12/10/2015 20:46

We love our Saturdays evenings! We usually go out for tea, somewhere with a play area for the boys so we can all have a lovely meal out, (no washing up) the boys can play then it's back home for some homemade chocolate cake (Cadburys of course) then a dvd with a few snacks until bedtime!

shivbrown · 12/10/2015 20:55

Our family nights in involve cooked food by us and the children they love helping. Board games normally guess who or Monopoly and then a good film :)
