Cadbury’s Marvellous Smashables have asked us to find out how you get the whole family together for a cosy night in.

Here’s what they say, "New Cadbury’s Marvellous Smashables are a fun way for all the family to get involved, so we’d love to hear from Mumsnetters about how they encourage the whole family to enjoy a family night in."

So, what do you do to ensure your busy family spends time together? Do you make sure everyone's favourite meal - or dessert - is on the menu? Perhaps there's a TV show that's guaranteed to gather you all in one place? Or do you use more direct tactics like bribery?! Maybe you cut off supply to the wifi or have made the lounge or kitchen an irresistably cosy place to congregate?

Everyone who posts on this thread will be entered into a prize draw to win a £200 Love2Shop voucher!

Thanks

For us, we pick a family film, get lots of snacks and sweets ready and then all snuggle up on the sofa with the lights dimmed. Perfect :)

Spencer1234 · 12/10/2015 12:42

When it's cold outside we love to all get together in the living room with a big blanket over us & watch a film

chickensandbees · 12/10/2015 12:48

My DC are still a bit young for this, (6 and 4). However I am really looking forward to the future years when hopefully we will have nights in with some nice food and then watching a family film together. I would love them to stay up and watch Strictly with me as well (DH not interested!!). Grin

mickaul232 · 12/10/2015 13:01

i just tell them to stay and they do

rainbow1983 · 12/10/2015 13:07

Our family night in consists of PJ's, films and snuggles, although we really do need a bigger sofa considering we have 3 children and two dogs that insist on sitting next to me and the OH lol.

janeyf1 · 12/10/2015 13:12

We like to snuggle up on the sofa and sit under a throw with popcorn watching our favourite DVDs

sofieellis · 12/10/2015 13:17

Home made pizzas for tea, followed by a board game. Then all snuggle up in pyjamas, under blankets, to watch a movie together. With bowls of crisps and chocolate to nibble on!

glennamy · 12/10/2015 13:18

We love watching I'm a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here as a family, whilst all squashed on the sofa, snacking on popcorn & snacks etc... Love it so much.

amusedchrissy · 12/10/2015 13:25

We always eat at the table with the radio instead of the television to keep everyone paying attention to each other.

purpleluvbug · 12/10/2015 13:31

Well at the moment, our family nights in, are mainly over the weekend. We all snuggle on the sofa, and watch Xfactor. All giving our opinions, and booing Simon Cowell. All go fun.

bridge16 · 12/10/2015 14:00

We love our family nights. We all go and stay at my parents-in-law once a month and get a takeaway and play board games and cards and eat loads! Its always such a laugh and plenty of drinking and eating but we all love it and will carry on the tradition with our own children when they are older!

ann28 · 12/10/2015 14:05

They're only allowed to eat at the table, it's all they've ever known, so we always have family time together.

pixelwife · 12/10/2015 14:09

We love to have nights in snuggled all together under a blanket, watching family movies and enjoying a few treats; chocolate, popcorn, nachos depending on how we feel!

MAT12 · 12/10/2015 14:10

We have some great evenings in it usually starts with a few family games, kids love memory card, top trumps and frustration. We than usually have a little concert the younger ones like to put on then we choose a film and have popcorn and hot chocolate with marshmallows.

pipersky · 12/10/2015 14:15

Our children are still quite young so its difficult to find something we all find fun - usually chocolate, sweets and a family movie in the evening :)

beckyinman · 12/10/2015 14:24

feeona123 · 12/10/2015 15:13

My little girl is only 18 months so we spend a lot of nights in!!

It's nice to spend a bit of time before she goes to bed either playing with her toys or watching a bit of Peppa Pig - which she is obsessed with at the moment!

jennie1984j · 12/10/2015 15:16
