As schools re-open and your DCs go back to school, the team at Mini Milk would love to know what special treatment your DCs get to help them ease back in to school.

Mini Milk say "Small but perfectly formed, the Mini Milk is a firm favourite within the Wall's range of ice creams. With a choice of three delicious flavours -Vanilla, Strawberry and Chocolate - it's a perfect tasty treat you can feel confident giving to your kids. With children going back to school after the summer holidays, we know that it can be tough to get them back into a routine. So, we'd like to hear about any tips and treats you have for the back to school transition period"

So, do your DCs get any special treats or treatment when they go back to school? Maybe they get a special after school treat for the first week or two after going back to school? Perhaps you try to make the morning routine into a fun game? Or maybe you like to buy them a brand new pencil case?

Whatever special treats or treatment your DCs get when going back to school, Mini Milk would love to hear about it.

Everyone who posts on this thread will be entered into a prize draw where one winner will receive a £300 John Lewis voucher.

Please note your comments may be included on Mini Milk's social media channels, and possibly elsewhere, so please only post if you're comfortable with this.

Thanks and good luck,
MNHQ

The end of the first week back, they get a small gift. Nothing expensive, something like a Lego figure or a dvd to watch. :) Gives them a bit of encouragement to settle back down and something to look forward too at the end of the week.

My daughter is 12. I always get her new things like uniform, school equipment. In particular, there was a new schoolbag with icons of her favourite YouTubers that she wanted, and I agreed since her old bag had some holes in it. Asked her what she wanted as a final treat before she went back and she chose a visit to the Sealife Centre. I've also done my best to help her ease back into the school routine again - agreeing to take/collect her in the car perhaps more often than I usually would (as the school's within fairly easy walking distance); making sure she knows when she's got lessons, appointments, etc; sorting out medication that needs to be available to her in the medical room at school; being understanding in the morning as she adjusts to getting up earlier. I think we're getting there now :)

This has been my daughters first year at big school so we are big on routine. When she gets home we let her put her good bugs on the fridge if she has had a good day. We then do an activity of her choice whilst we have cartoons on in the background...at the moment jigsaws are in lol

jakeyboyo · 11/09/2015 19:59

I have promised to take her to McDonalds every Friday

rennie1811 · 11/09/2015 20:37

we go out for a special tea after their first day which they get to choose. The kids love choosing the restaurant and look forward to it. They also get new pens, pencils, etc

littleme96 · 11/09/2015 20:50

No special treats here, but I am a little more lenient at home as I appreciate they are probably more tired than normal.

Although my dd's are at secondary school now, as a working Mum, I always make sure to take the last few days of the holiday of with them and on their first day back drop them by car instead of them getting the bus.
