We've been asked by comparethemarket.com to find out about who Mumsnetters' ideal celebrity cinema buddy is.

Here’s what comparethemarket.com say: "Everyone loves the movies but it wouldn’t be anywhere near as fun without your chosen companions, whether that be your children, your best friend or your partner."

So, if you could buddy up on a trip to the cinema with any celebrity or historical figure, dead or alive, who would it be and why?

Everyone who leaves their comment will be entered into a prize draw where one lucky Mumsnetter will win a £300 John Lewis voucher.

Thanks and good luck!

Please note: standard Mumsnet Insight terms and conditions apply, full terms and conditions can be found here

PS: Compare the Market also say “MEERKAT MOVIES offers 2 for 1 cinema tickets every Tuesday or Wednesday for a whole year when you make a qualifying purchase through comparethemarket.com*. This could be as little as purchasing a single trip travel insurance policy which on average costs just £25.44 - making it one of the most generous rewards programmes available.”
*Qualifying purchases only. One membership per 12 months. Participating Cinemas. Terms and conditions apply

Mr Bean aka Rowen Atkinson, because he is hilarious in a simplistic way and I'm sure would make a trip to the cinema the funniest experience ever!

I would go with the amazing graphic novelist Alison Bechdel (who I met once when I was at university in New England), and we could apply her legendary Bechdel test to the movie together.

Pimmpom · 27/04/2015 12:27

Aidan Turner- It would have to be a film that I wasn't bothered about seeing though as I really wouldn't be able to concentrate! Blush

I would have to go for Quentin Tarantino. He makes some great and interesting films so I'd imagine he would be a great movie date.

Baby Oleg, he's so cute (and he's a stuffed toy so he'd be quiet, not like my little angels).
