We've been asked by comparethemarket.com to find out about who Mumsnetters' ideal celebrity cinema buddy is.

It would have to be Barry Norman; what he doesn't know about films I could write on a postage stamp. He'd pick the perfect film for us to view every time.

David Mitchell - he's just so funny, intelligent and probably has great film knowledge, too. Plus he seems like a true gentleman so I'd probably get a free tub of popcorn out of it (hopefully)!

Henry Fox Talbot, the inventor of photography, so I could show him just how marvellous his invention was and how far it has come.

Charlie Chaplin - I hate people who speak all the way through films at the cinema ;) xxx

Stephen Fry - he would probably have lots of anecdotes about people in the films.

I'd love a night out at the cinema with Jason Statham... for some great action.... movies.. lol

Alan Carr as he'd be a great laugh.

Noel Clarke - he was commenting on the Oscars and it was great to hear some honest opinions about the films.
