The National Lottery would like to know who you would like to pay tribute to on Mother's Day.

Working with the charity Home-Start, The National Lottery gave one incredible Mum the surprise of a life time to thank her for the difference she’s made to so many.

Watch the video below or click here to watch it.

So we want to ask you, is there someone special that you’d like to thank on Mother’s Day? It may, of course, be your own Mum, it could be an aunt or a neighbour. Whoever it is, we’d love to hear a bit about what made them so special to you Smile.

Everyone who adds their thoughts to this thread will be entered into a prize draw to win a £300 Love2Shop voucher.

Thanks and good luck,
MNHQ

My mum as she would always make sure we were looked after and fed properly

My unique and special mother, she is undescribably the most beautiful person I have ever known, so kind, loving, patient, giving, wise, non judgemental, she has taught me morals and principals, the best teacher in life that I could ever have wished for, my shining example of what I aspire to become, she is my angel xx

I'd like to thank my sister - she's got a new steam cleaner and she's currently cleaning my mum's floors, then she's coming round her to clean my floors - brilliant !

We are really close she even lives across the road from us .
I have four young boys and she helps me loads I don't know what I would do without her . She emotionally supports me as well.

I'd like to thank a collective of people! They are my mum's friends and neighbours, who proved to be a huge support at times when both my mum and our family needed support when my mum was ill. Me and my daughter lived quite a long way away from my mum, and not driving either meant it was very difficult to always be there at times of greater need, as I was working and my daughter was undergoing school and sixth form. There were nights when my mum used to be distressed and in a very bad way, and her neighbours would be up at midnight, helping her of their own accord when we couldn't be there. Always taking her out to places for dinner and just a nice day out when we were busy. Checking on her every morning to make sure she were OK and if she needed any shopping. My mum had the best friends and neighbours anyone could ask for, so caring and kind and offered so much support without been asked; me and my daughter are eternally grateful for that.

I would like to Thank my beautiful Mum this Mother's Day. She truly is an amazing, inspirational Lady. We almost lost her three years ago when her lungs collapsed and suddenly, being told by the consultant to expect the worst, my world came crashing down around me. My Mum isn't just my Mum, she is my protector, she is my confident, she is my support, my calming influence (when all hell breaks loose), my therapist, my best friend. Everyday I want to tell her just how special she is to me, to say Thank you for loving me, for nurturing me, for everything you have done for me in my life which has shaped me into the person I am today. My Mum isn't perfect (no one is!) but she's my Mum, my beautiful darling Mum and to me, she is perfect (well, most of the time anyway!). Happy Mother's Day to all of the Beautiful Mummy's on Mumsnet, none of us are perfect but if we can say we've done our best, then we are doing just fine. X x x

My mum is a triplet and they got together for their 60th birthday. My Mum and Aunty (the two girls) got wetsuits for their birthday and tried them out in the garden amidst much shrieking. Very very funny, but even funnier when we found out that the water had actually been warm rather than the terrible cold all us onlookers thought!
My great Aunty who is in her 90s dressed up in tennis gear for the last Wimbledon showing at her old peoples home, and she is regularly helping out 'the oldies'.
I think all my female family members are completely bonkers, and know how to have great fun and live life to the full. They're all special, and not just for the many occasions where they've helped me out and been there for me.

I would like to thank my OH for always being there for me & my kids. Smile

beavan68 · 14/03/2015 13:47

I think my mum is just special for being her. I was adopted at six weeks and I couldn't have been given to two lovelier people. My mum has been with me through thick and thin. She is kind, generous, caring and a little bit mad. At 73 years of age she is doing a wing walk for Parkinson's Disease next month, I am just so proud of all she does and everything she stands for.

I lost my mum when I was quite young, so her best friend (my great-aunt) took on the role. She has seen me through both the highs and lows of life, from watching me graduate, to having me live with her after my marriage broke downwhile. Now grandma to my own two children who call her Nanna Pretty Hair, I have so much to thank her for as she is always there for me and I am so blessed to have her in my life.

julieef · 14/03/2015 15:07

my wonderful daughter, she is always there to help if I need it

tinkertink2010 · 14/03/2015 15:14

Apart from my gorgeous mum - it would be my Aunty Margaret who was like a second mum to me - she passed away 13 years ago and I don't half miss her! Cherish your loved ones as you will miss them when they are gone xxx

pinklady123456 · 14/03/2015 15:20

My mum, is always there for me and is my best friend, she honestly would do absolutely anything for me.

clopper · 14/03/2015 15:33

My own mum
My biggest cheerleader, advisor, back up, inspiration, and friend.

nhopkins90 · 14/03/2015 15:41

It'd have to be both my mum and nana. They are both amazing ladies in their own right and I owe them so much.

ninamotylinski · 14/03/2015 15:56

My own dearest Mum! I have had a hard battle with post natal depression over the last year and a half since my son's birth and there have been times I just wanted to go to sleep and not wake up but my mum has been there for me in every way, pulling me back up, and getting me outside help and now I am improving and getting to a much more stable place, I adore my family and am so grateful to my Mum for being my rock and showing me what a mother's love is all about.

createbeauty · 14/03/2015 15:59

I'd love to thank my mother-in-law, who has helped us out so much, I'd never be able to repay her!

AlienBurrito · 14/03/2015 16:10

My mum, because she moved and downsized our home to give me a fresh start after many years of health problems

Waitingonasunnyday · 14/03/2015 16:22

Aw lovely video.

My mum died when I was small. But I have a lovely stepmum. As my children grow I see mothering everywhere and appreciate it much more. Eg One of my retired neighbours is teaching my DC how to knit, she comes round, a friend is here at the same time, it ends up as a marriage guidance session Smile

GREATAUNT1 · 14/03/2015 16:37

My dear Mom, who God love her makes us laugh without too much effort. She says she has to go shopping for the old people, when at 77 I'd say that she is the old people. She claimed that the Nurse told her that she could buy stuff for the hard skin on her feet for a hundred pound. Mom's hard of hearing, the Nurse had actually said under a pound. On a recent visit to mine she said that she wanted to watch you've been framed so I put it on for her. When I told her that she wasn't watching it after I'd put it on especially for her, she said that she was listening to it! Finally she was in a shop & asked the assistant about a product. The assistant said ''Which?'' Mom said ''I'm no bitch''. I do wish she'd get an aid!

mrscumberbatch · 14/03/2015 17:04

Mary Barbour.

She was a firebrand female politician who was instrumental in the Glasgow rent strikes of 1915.

She was Glasgow's first female Baillie and one of the first female magistrates.

Her legacy is ongoing and inspires women to this day.

sugarthief · 14/03/2015 17:20

I would like to thank my own 'Mama' because by being a fabulous mum she has enabled me to be a good mum to my own 6 children as I learnt everything I know from her! She is one in a million (and I hope that's how my own children see me!) :-)

hbakfam · 14/03/2015 17:22

I want to thank my girlfriend Amber for being there every time I need her!

JoJoY · 14/03/2015 17:33

I would thank my own Mum for helping me be the Mum I am today!

leccybill · 14/03/2015 17:53

My lovely gran, who has spent all 87 years of her life being deaf-mute, yet still managed to raise six children and look after 8 grandchildren and made it look bloody easy too. She's amazing.
