The National Lottery would like to know who you would like to pay tribute to on Mother's Day.

Working with the charity Home-Start, The National Lottery gave one incredible Mum the surprise of a life time to thank her for the difference she’s made to so many.

Watch the video below or click here to watch it.

So we want to ask you, is there someone special that you’d like to thank on Mother’s Day? It may, of course, be your own Mum, it could be an aunt or a neighbour. Whoever it is, we’d love to hear a bit about what made them so special to you Smile.

Everyone who adds their thoughts to this thread will be entered into a prize draw to win a £300 Love2Shop voucher.

Thanks and good luck,
MNHQ

I would like to thank my Auntie Peggy, sadly my mother died nearly 16 years ago, and her Sister, Peggy, filled her shoes and has spoilt my children with gifts, told them tales of their Grandma, and filled what would have been a big hole in their lives. Thank you Peggy x

My wonderful mother is so essential, it is awful to think of her not being here for perhaps many more years. Still enjoying many of the good things in life like great food, reading complex science textbooks, making beautiful gardens and of course mixing concrete Smile She is also a fire-maker par excellence, her bonfires and grate fires are absolutely amazing and ALWAYS catch. I wish I were more like her.

My mum ,because she's always there to to support and offer advice through good and bad times.

skyeskyeskye · 13/03/2015 23:58

Vmy own mum, because she hasw always been there for me since my XH left. She lost her own mum in 2010' her sister in 2011 and my XH left in 2012. She had a difficult few years yet has been my rock and I simply could not manage without her. She looks after DD sometimes so I can work, she babysits so I can go out and she's always at the end of a phone.

I'd like to say Thankyou to my daughter, without her I wouldn't be a mum, and wouldn't have realised fully how much my own mum did for me and how special it is to have such a bond. I am so grateful for what i have but I would have never even noticed until she came along!

My son's English teacher. It's been hard to engage him in education for some time and was set to leave school with no GCSEs at all, but she has been determined to help him get his English GCSE and she is so inspiring, he has a great relationship with her.

My mum, because she just gives and gives and doesn't expect anything in return.

dkryan · 14/03/2015 02:24

It would have to be my mum. She's the best!

ElectroNymph · 14/03/2015 06:50

My MIL who passed away last year with dementia. She was a loving and generous granny to my two DC. Just a simple and kind lady.

Signoritawhocansway · 14/03/2015 07:35

One of the Mum's in our church who has just died. She had fostered over 50 children over the years and adopted three. She truly was a remarkable lady.

My husband is the happiest person I know, the eternal optimist, caring, funny and warm. He's my best friend!

Spencer1234 · 14/03/2015 08:00

Id like to thank my step mum! She proves that you don't need to give birth to someone to be their mother, she's always treated me as if I was her own & I love her very much

lizd31 · 14/03/2015 08:04

If Mums were flowers I'd always pick mine
She's the best of the bunch like a well matured wine
Sweet, kind & selfless she can't do enough
Even though her life is so terribly tough
Disabled with arthritis her mobility's hampered
So she truly deserves to be positively pampered
She may be 82 but she's got glamour & style
The best Mum in the world who always makes me smile
She's always the one on whom I can depend
Not only my Mum but my very best friend

All of my DHs family, especially MIL, for making me a part of thier family, especially years ago when
DH brought home a strange girl
He'd only just met for Christmas as otherwise she would have been all alone with nowhere else to go.

puczinix · 14/03/2015 08:22

I would like to thank my Mum for always being there for me. You're amazing!

phillie1 · 14/03/2015 09:02

my daughter, who is always there to cheer me up when I'm down

Whoateallthecheese · 14/03/2015 09:02

My mum. I just wish she was still around to say thank you for all she did and taught me. My children are missing out on so much not having her in their lives. I miss her every single day.

jelleng · 14/03/2015 09:17

My sister, she's always ready to help, sees the best in everyone, has the patience of a saint and lets me use her shoulder when I need to let out my frustrations

Tkw2014 · 14/03/2015 09:21

It would be the lovely midwife who delivered both of my lovely 2 and also supported us through some difficult times. Thank-you Sarah!

shawbarbara · 14/03/2015 09:34

I would like to thank my wonderful Mum. She's one of a kind & an inspiration for me and many others. She is always the first to volunteer to lend a hand and she never complains! Love her now and always

WowOoo · 14/03/2015 10:00

I've thanked my lovely friend for being such a wise, cheerful and supportive person.
She can see the funny and good side to everything and helped me get through a rough time. Without her, I'd have been crying instead of working through a problem.

Greedyfly · 14/03/2015 10:10

I would like to nominate my husband, he has been my rock over the last six years since I had an accident and supports me every day and is nothing but helpful when I have had surgery. He deserves this and so much more.

tabbaz123 · 14/03/2015 11:05

My lovely wonderful and inspirational mother. She not only took me under her wing as a hormonal teenager but has stood by me ever since - now a menopausal hormonal woman! She inspired me to foster and support many families in the community and is just a truly amazing lady

caker · 14/03/2015 11:14

My mum stayed with me overnight in the hospital while I had a blood transfusion 4 days after DD was born, so DH could go home and get some sleep. They took a long time to match my blood, and I was very poorly and on a drip. My mum asked them if she could give me her blood instead. Sob! Thank you Mum.
