When my gorgeous girlies come home from school and their faces light up when they see me x

mjmooseface · 04/02/2015 20:14

It might not sound like much but my son, aged 2 years and 4 months, clapped for the first time 2 days ago!!! He has delayed communication and has never pointed or clapped and still doesn't talk etc so seeing him clapping and seeing the look of triumph on his face brought tears to my eyes!

I have recently started volunteering at my local library after my son started nursery and I love working there. There are some right characters who are regulars and I always have a little chat with them and I hope it brightens up their day - it certainly makes me happy!

I struggle a lot myself with low mood and I over-compensate by trying to make those around me feel happy and I always feel clever when I make my husband laugh! lol

little bits of happiness. Sleepy cuddles with the boys. Watching them have fun together. Waking up with no kids in our bed. Hot cups of tea!

asuwere · 05/02/2015 10:55

when I go upstairs and find all my DC are fast asleep :)

when DC3 runs out of his school line in the morning as he's forgotten to tell me he loves me!

when my DC are climbing all over and jumping on DH (makes me smile even more when the accidently jump on a delicate area ;) )

milky smiles :)

Small things that happen in my day to day life, right now, are things like the big squeezes you get from the children that are spontaneous and not asked for. The grabbing of my hand to make sure they are safe, because I make them feel safe. The way they watch me when we do something new, to make sure it is OK. The way they sit and play nicely with eachother, watching them hold hands and talk lovingly to eachother is magical and that really melts my heart.

Having breakfast I bed with my two year old on a Friday morning. Followed by swimming in the evening. The only times of the week we get to spend to e just the two of us :)

ladygoingGaga · 05/02/2015 22:48

Every night before I head off to bed I pop into my DS room, kiss his forehead and whisper into his ear whilst he is sleeping, very occasionally he will murmur back 'love you'
Sends me skipping to my room, with a massive grin, priceless Grin

Holding my baby in my arms for the first time

Clawdy · 06/02/2015 20:03

When I see my daughter with her three older brothers , all laughing at something and I think "Ooh, I always wanted brothers, and it's so lovely to see her with my wish!"

Bigbadgeorge · 06/02/2015 22:25

My mini moment of happiness is picking up my daughter up from nursery after a long day at work, watch her gasp at the sight of me, drop whatever it is she is doing an run arms outstretched for me to sweep her up for a cuddle. In this moment all the stresses of the day melt away and I am mummy again.

CatsInCustard · 07/02/2015 17:59

My mini happy moment is when all is done for the day and I can have a cup of tea while sitting on the sofa, just enjoying sitting watching the fire going and the sun setting.

idontgivearatsass · 08/02/2015 00:12

I have a mini moment of happiness every single time I cuddle my 2 month old squidgy daughter and marvel at her perfection.

Hearing my 4 year old son ask me to cuddle him to fall asleep at nights is another mini moment of happiness.

In my mind, a child's cuddles change as the child grows, develops and experiences new joys and so yesterday's cuddles are now part of yesterday. With cuddles you have to sieze the day... carpe diem.

ataraxia · 08/02/2015 12:33

Most recent one was custard-based actually! Found apple pie in the reduced section so could have have lovely apple pie and custard on a budget.

Incidentally, saw the custard pots in the shop on the same day - great idea but I can't think of a time when, no matter how young, that would have been a big enough portion size of custard for any of our family!

MaybesAye · 08/02/2015 17:02

My mini moment of happiness is vicarious! DS1 has recently started cookery lessons in high school. He knew he would be making apple crumble in the period after lunch and kept his custard pot aside so he could eat them both together. I was very proud of his foresight! His classmates were a bit jealous apparently!
