Dolly joined our family shortly after the sudden death of my husband last year. I would never have described myself as a dog lover before but I bowed to the pressure from my 3 children and I can honestly say she is the best thing we have done. She is a constant source of joy and is a real positive focus as we strive to rebuild our lives.

My youngest son has developed severe separation anxiety and depression since losing his daddy. Some days it is a challenge for him to even get out of bed, but as soon as the fluff ball appears at his door a smile lights up his face and I see a glimpse of the boy he was before and I hope he can be again. They are inseparable and her daily walks along the beach give us all an opportunity to clear our heads in the fresh air, reflect, share our thoughts and perhaps most importantly, laugh at her antics. She really is the best medicine and even when she's chewing my favourite shoes I wouldn't want my family to be without her.

Not exactly doggy - but mine is a wolf. The size of his head is incredible but he is a lover, not a fighter...

This is Ozzy. He's a SpringerxGSD and apart from being amazingly cute his specialist subject is stealing and tearing up tissues. He is also currently doing surveillance on the neighbourhood birds. It is all part of his master plan to catch one!

My doggy side kick is no more - she came to our family when I was 6 months pregnant with my first but unfortunately the big C stole her from me. She was my shadow, my first baby! Been an army wife she always knew when I needed extra comfort as I was once again on my own. I remember introducing my DD to friends and she was on gaurd - not letting anyone near the kids - my babies were her babies too. We've since got 2 cats - the spitting image of Sasha and if you were ever to believe in reincarnation I swear that Minty is so like Sash it is unbelievable.

Our sidekick. Only had him for a year but feels as if he's never not been there!

My side kick Kai, she was my constant companion and support from when she came to me as a rescue dog age 3 until she passed away late August aged 15.
When she was and my disability effected my mobility badly she would help me up the stairs, even pull me in my wheelchair around the park. When she began to age and lost her sight she continued to keep a smile on my face as she still dashed around the places like a pin ball bouncing off anything and everything. I miss her madly and always will but we had such a wonderful time together through thick and thin. I will never have another dog as there will never be another Kai.

Poppy is our latest sidekick,she came to us after a very tragic start in life her previous owner died and she & Poppy where left in the house for 5 days before they where found she was near death herself and took a lot of nursing to recover and gain confidence again,she had never been walked as her owner was 80 when someone bought her for a birthday present and she had never been bathed so you can guess how matted she was she was when she was clipped down found to be a Lhasa Apso,she has been with us 9mths and is a treasure to have she is virtually velcroed to us as she has problems if we are out of sight but that makes her all the more adorable.

My dog when I was a teenager was a legend. She lived to nearly seventeen and was intelligent as anything. She also ate anything and everything in her sight and we have some wonderful family memories of the times she scoffed things she shouldn't have.. A massive bowl of boiled sweets including wrappers, a whole (cooked) Xmas turkey, a sackful of raw potatoes, her own blanket, the decorations off my mums slippers, a kilo box of dry breakfast cereal.. the list goes on..
Despite the saying she was still learning new tricks right until the end and knew hundreds of commands (food was a useful training tool!). Ahh, we still miss her!

It seems to be a challenge now to wear the puppy out along with the children!

This is Keith (named after the mountain biking pioneer Keith Bontrager)

Keith came to us as a rescue dog, having been abandoned with his sister near a lake in Ireland, he came to us a a smallish puppy (4 months) and being a pointer collie cross (best guess) we knew he'd be an active dog, which is what we wanted.

He joins us on mountain bike rides, long walks in the country side and his favorite past time is chasing bubbles, which incidentally is how we eventually got him to stay with us off lead on walks, he's well known and loved by all the local dog walkers and loves a good charge about and chasing his tennis ball. He's often off chasing squirrels and pheasants, but having come face to face with a poorly rabbit, he just laid down and watched it, he's also scared of our two cats, who have firmly established that they're above him in the pecking order.

After a rocky start (who in their right mind would get a puppy when they're 7 months pregnant???) he's become very much part of the family, adores DD, and I still find his little brown eyebrows so expressive.

He's the world biggest idiot, but we love him dearly.

This is Rosie who is the cutest and most faithful little dog, with a bit of a cheeky side (she loves my slippers!)

Gertie and Reggie the wonder pugs. Reggie, front and centre, is a rescue that Gertie has had to learn to live with - she's a bit of a diva and demands all the attention. Bless him, he's got a sackful of medical problems (like most pugs) - he's just had a huge tumour taken out of his back leg - ouch. They keep me sane at the same time as driving me insane and I love them to bits. And then a little bit more :)

Rescued from a rubbish site in Bosnia. Tom was re-homed with us. Such a wonderful dog :)

Here is my Barney, a little handful but absolutely adorable.

Our fluffy furbaby Walt. He's the happiest little dog and so friendly towards everyone! If someone is walking down the street towards him, he will just stand on the spot and wag his tail until he gets their attention. He loves nothing more than chasing his tail and playing with other doggy friends.
