The team behind Annie the Movie says "If you've seen the film, you'll know Annie forms a strong attachment with her dog, Sandy. They always say a dog is a man's best friend, and he certainly is Annie's!"

My Doggy sidekick has gone over the "Rainbow Bridge" & can never be replaced so I would settle for Scooby Doo :)

Here's my doggie sidekick Loki he's a jackhuahua and my best buddy who follows me everywhere here he is having hugs of my neice and sleeping with my nephew he adores them both.

Here's my doggy side kick Izen. We rescued him this year and he has brought so much happiness into my kids lives. We call him our superhero

He is not impressed with having to wearing a Christmas jumper though!

My boys pestered me for a dog for years but I always had an excuse - I was a childminder, it wasn't practical with us having patio doors straight out into the back garden, we were at work etc. Then I ran out of excuses and gave in. It was the best thing I ever did. I absolutely love our girl, she's such a good dog. We adopted her from a rescue organisation and consider ourselves very lucky to have her.

Lily was ours but is sadly no longer with us. I do miss having a dog and tell myself that I will again when the children are a bit older.

Our scottie x Shadow is named that because he followed us everywhere as a puppy. He is 14 now and enjoying his twilight years.

This is the MuttDog, Gwen. She says "Mum says I'm not allowed on the sofa, you can't see me, right?"

She was a Rescue 5 years ago. Gwen and her 4 siblings were discovered zipped up in a sports bag and left to die next to a Biffa Bin . Luckily someone walked past and realised the bag was moving. We got her when she was approx 8 weeks and nearly lost her twice in the first week. The vet eventually said "If she survives the weekend, she'll be OK." I stayed downstairs with her, she slept on my chest and I fed her boiled chicken every two hours. She hasn't had a days illness since

She's my shadow. She came to work with me in Barracks every day, sits on my feet in the evenings and sleeps in with me at night. The only time she leaves me is to be with DD, especially if she's ill.

Best guess is that she's a collie cross springer, with a bit of whippet thrown in. No matter what she is, she's the best dog EVER.

This is my lovely boy, I adore him and he adores me.

And this is him pictured with his "big brother" the night before our older dog lost his fight with cancer.

These are my mad two.

First is the worlds nastiest dog. Who attacks dh daily. Dog had a bad start in life and was kept in a barn for six months and we think probably beaten by a bloke. He's terrified of men and guards me and dd from dh.

We've gone to all sorts of behaviourists but he's still bonkers. We've gone as far as twice making an appt to have him pts when we've reached the end of our tether, but never gone through with it. Guess we love him too much, even dh says he would miss him if he went.

Then we have daft puppy who we hoped might calm mad dog down. Hasn't really worked. Mad dog just has one more person to protect from dh!

Dogs are best of friends after only a couple of months together.

I have a Catty sidekick - Cupcake!

This handsome fellow is Eric he's a constant companion and real friend. He instinctively knows how you feel and reacts accordingly so sometimes he sits quietly at the side of you with just a paw resting on your leg and at others he sits on your knee with his head on your shoulder. He's a good listener and tries to talk back too. He's very much loved which is a good job because he is always up to mischief.

This is my Doggy sidekick Boo. We got her from a rescue at around 7 weeks old after she'd been found wandering at about 4 weeks old with a tummy full of worms.

In one of the photographs she can be seen snuggling up to our elderly collie cross, Dill (sadly no longer with us ) who she was convinced was her mum. Dill was very patient, but would occasionally give an exasperated bark when she tried to suckle! They loved each other though and both of their lives were enriched by the other.

Boo is now almost four and an delight. I'm so glad I looked at the rescue's website on that particular day!

Barry don't go anywhere without him.

This is Archie, a 16mo mini Jack Russell. We took him on when he was 10 weeks old and the 'breeders' were desperate to be rid of him. He had worms, he had horrible food allergies that resulted in a terribly upset stomach, blood in his waste... he'd been left in a real mess. We took him to the vet, got his jags, medicine for the worms, bought hypoallergenic food and spent time and money nursing him to health. We then discovered that he had an undescended testicle which was at risk of twisting in his stomach and he had to have surgery to find and remove it when he was six months old.

Thankfully ten months have passed with no problems and he is now a cheeky, funny, bossy, energetic, stroppy little man and I can't bear to think about where he'd be if we hadn't taken him.

This is Buddy . We got him from our local rescue two years ago. He is very spoilt and is dd2 favourite family member by a mile. They really are inseparable.
