To celebrate the new Annie Movie - At Cinemas Now, the team behind the film would love to hear all about your doggy sidekick.

The team behind Annie the Movie says "If you've seen the film, you'll know Annie forms a strong attachment with her dog, Sandy. They always say a dog is a man's best friend, and he certainly is Annie's!"

Check out the trailer here:

So, do you have a pooch who you love to bits? Does your dog go the extra mile to care for you and your family?

Please share your doggy tales and photos of your dog on this thread - everyone who does so will be entered into a prize draw where one MNer will win £150 worth of High Street Vouchers and a Sandy Plush Toy.

Thanks and Good Luck,
MNHQ

PS read the reviews from MNers who attended the preview screening here

I have a cat that thinks she's a dog! She's actually a Bengal and is brilliant at fetching balls, she loves playing with water, and I can take her for walks on a lead...who needs a dog when you can have a cool, and very intelligent cat!!

We have two, both cross breeds... Spike & Lola who are not allowed on the sofa, but we arrived home and captured this:

This is Murphy and he is a Scottie dog. We had our first Scott many years ago and he made such a huge impact in our lives we knew they would always be the breed for us.

Murphy is 1 now and named after Murphy McManus from the Boondock Saints movie. I'm still working on dh to let me have a Connor McManus Grin

I am Murphy's human of choice, today he's followed me to the loo on every occasion, diligently examined every shopping bag when the Christmas food shop arrived, snored on my knee all through the football and is now on his back, legs akimbo snoring at the end of the bed. His wagging tail gets me up in the morning, he's my best friend and my confidant.

Not my usual name. :)
This is Doog. He's quite possibly the most cuddly, loving dog ever. Great with kids and full of fun. His hobbies are chasing a ball, watching animal programmes on TV, sleeping, eating, chasing a ball some more and cuddles.

I've no pets so I guess my dodgy sidekick is my husband ????????

This is Casey 'playing hide & seek' with DD2 when she was younger. She was a rescue puppy, and she is so so patient and loving with the girls. They have grown up with her (she is 14 now!) and their lives have been enriched by her, immeasurably.

These are our sidekicks, Scottie and Hector.

Scottie is almost 13 now, and Hector is 2.

Scottie (who I wanted to call McFlurry) is a very independent little thing, very stubborn, but also very loyal and has endless patience. She 'talks' to me with the famous Scottie Growl, which can be a bit worrying for people who aren't used to Scottie dogs but anyone who knows them will know the Scottie Growl. It usually translates to "where's my food" or "is that my biscuit you're eating?" or sometimes "pick me up so I can look out of the window."

Hector has been like my shadow since DH brought him home. He's a very social dog and where I go, he goes. He likes to be with people and if someone in the house is upstairs while someone else is downstairs, Hector is sitting about halfway up keeping an eye on everybody.

As you can see, they both love hate their outfits, but they only had to wear them for as long as it took to take the photo's.

My dog is so proctective of my and my Son. When we are out walking she barks at everyone in sight and my Son's favourite game is chasing her around the park. He loves her to bits and I've attached a photo of them walking together. She really is our best friend and is ultra cute too.

No photos I'm afraid as it was a long time ago but as a child we had a dalmation called Critter probably from me being a toddler to early teens. He was a big softy and very very stupid! Funny how much as I loved him I grew up to be more a cat person whereas the rest of my family prefer dogs! I remember one time he ran the length of the greenhouse and straight through the closed door at the end, breaking all the glass. He just stood there happily licking all the blood off his poor nose! Ahhhh!
