We've been asked by Ready brek to find out about MNers' best porridge based recipes and healthy breakfast creations

Ready brek says "Coinciding with the launch of Ready brek's 'easy sachets' collection, we'd love to hear about how MNers customise their porridge. In tasty Original and delicious Chocolate and Gingerbread flavours, and made only from finely milled oats, vitamins and minerals, this hot oat cereal delivers all the benefits of an adult porridge, but without the lumps. Easy to make in the microwave or with hot milk this kids' porridge gives your children a tasty warming start to the day. But the Ready brek oats can be used for so much more than just porridge. One look at the Ready brek and Weetabix website shows just how versatile these oats can be. From Ready brek breakfast muffins, to 'ginger-brek men', there's hundreds of ways you can make your cereal go further."

So, how do you customise your porridge or Ready brek? Maybe you add some bananas? Or do you prefer to add blueberries or raspberries? Perhaps honey is your usual addition? Whatever you add to your porridge, Ready brek would love to hear about how you keep breakfast time fun and healthy.

If you don't usually have porridge for breakfast, do you have any porridge based recipes? Perhaps you like to add porridge oats when you're baking cookies? Or maybe you'd rather use your porridge oats for flapjacks? Let Ready brek know what your favourite porridge based recipes are.

Every MNer who posts on this thread will go into a prize draw to win £250 from Ready brek and Weetabix.

Thanks,
MNHQ

It may not be healthy but its a great treat!

strawberrisc · 09/09/2014 18:55

Salt! Mmm.

stefalfie11 · 09/09/2014 18:56

Without a question, it has to be blueberries! In my opinion, it can't be beaten :)

Micah68 · 09/09/2014 18:59

Raspberries and Greek yogurt. It is really refreshing, healthy & delicious.

jcyclops · 09/09/2014 19:09

Lemon Curd!

meerschweinchen · 09/09/2014 19:29

I have to say we don't add anything. But there are some great ideas here, so will have to give them a go. Like the sound of 'ginger-brek' men too!

vixxx666 · 09/09/2014 19:47

Jam or sugar :)

alsproject · 09/09/2014 19:51

HelpMeGetOutOfHere · 09/09/2014 20:02

I love ready Brek in the winter. I cook it until it's gone gloopy and thick then sprinkle with unrefined golden granulated sugar. Yum.

The dc love theirs topped with banana or mixed berries. I use frozen ones in winter.

mave · 09/09/2014 20:13

Strawberries and kiwi fruit-mmmm!!!!

Jenni2legs · 09/09/2014 20:13

Maple syrup and Pecans - I like to toast the oats in the dry pan for a bit before adding the milk, adds a nice toasty flavour.

rideyourbike · 09/09/2014 20:18

My son adds golden syrup and raisins. I love just sugar, or blueberries and bananas. Or strawberries. Yummy...

Sparkles23 · 09/09/2014 20:18

I make it with water and then add a dash of cinnamon, honey and then Greek yoghurt to cool it down for my 4 year old, he loves porridge! Sometimes add mashed banana and raisins too.

guineapig1 · 09/09/2014 20:36

Maple syrup, rasberries or blueberries and double cream (trying to fatten up my ultra skinny DS!)
Eat natural nut and seed topping
Dollop of jam (bonne maman being a favourite)
DH makes porridge with just water and salt and adds marmite. Yuk!!!!

patchysmum · 09/09/2014 20:42

suewho · 09/09/2014 20:43

berries and a drizzle of honey

Cailin7 · 09/09/2014 20:45

Either plain with a pinch of salt or with raisins

donut1 · 09/09/2014 20:55

Just sultanas for extra fibre

arat · 09/09/2014 20:56

Sorry Ready Brek, can't stand the stuff for breakfast! But I do use it when making flapjacks and for fruit crumbles.

Fumnudge · 09/09/2014 21:01

Homemade bramble jelly (although my mum makes the jam, not me!)
