To celebrate the launch of the new Vodafone family price plan - Red+ - we have developed a new fun quiz to find out what kind of sharent you are!

What’s a sharent we hear you say…well it’s all about your attitude to sharing photos and updates of your DC online. Are you shary-savvy, a Shary Mary, shary-wary – or totes off the grid?
Take the short quiz now to find out

Vodafone say “For some parents, the internet can seem like a bit of minefield and with new technology emerging all the time, it can be hard to stay up to date. If that sounds like you, worry not. Vodafone has put together some guides and articles to help parents maintain control and keep the family safe – find out more here
Vodafone has also launched a new plan, designed specifically for families. Red+ gives you one data allowance to share and you can even cap your kids’ data so they don't go over their limit. You'll get one simple bill for all devices, saving you money compared to individual plans, and you'll also get unlimited calls and texts”

Find out more at vodafone.co.uk/redplus.

Please take a few minutes to do the quiz and return to this thread to post your sharenting result – let Vodafone know on this thread what it is and what you think and you’ll be entered into a prize draw where one MNer will win a £250 John Lewis voucher.

The Vodafone Digital Parenting Guide can be found here: www.vodafone.co.uk/family

Thanks and good luck

Shary savvy...spot on.

CMOTDibbler · 15/08/2014 20:23

sharey-warey apparently. I'm not worried by social media, nor do I not understand it - I just don't have the need to share things online all the time

Spirael · 15/08/2014 20:28

Another share-savvy here. Seems pretty accurate, but then I do work in IT...

lpbarton · 15/08/2014 20:34

hehe I'm a share-y wary.

I think thats more because the rest of the family arent really online :D

Lovemychocolate · 15/08/2014 20:37

I am share savvy. Think that's right love sharing things with close friend but worry about posting too much about my children

babsmam · 15/08/2014 20:38

Off the grid

Just didn't fit some of the answers

SixImpossible · 15/08/2014 20:40

Now there's a surprise: I come out as Share-Savy! I expected to be a Sharey-Wary.

RhinosAreFatUnicorns · 15/08/2014 20:42

I'm share-savvy.

Not surprising. I'm on Facebook lots but as a parent of an adopted child I am much more wary of what I post than I would be if she were a birth child. There are more pictures of the dog than my daughter :)

She won't be having a FB account until she is very much older and I would keep a very close eye on its security settings, no personal profile picture etc.

I use a private Instagram account for pictures rather than FB to share with close friends.

AtYourCervix · 15/08/2014 20:48

Share-Savvy. With teenagers. Share a bit. Let them know how to stay safe. It's not diffìcult.

share-savvy... of course! Grin

Wolfcub · 15/08/2014 20:58

Apparently I'm off the grid. I don't think that is anything like an accurate description

Dolallytats · 15/08/2014 21:01

I'm a share-y wary. Sounds about right!

Mummageddon · 15/08/2014 21:05

I'm off the grid, that's about right. I'm not a big fan of too much technology and prefer either hanging out with real people or enjoying time to myself!

RubySparks · 15/08/2014 21:15

ShareyWary which is about right! I do think twice about posting on Facebook or the photos I use especially of children as now they are older it has to be up to them what they share. Also my last job had a social media policy which basically meant don't post anything about your job!

addictedtosugar · 15/08/2014 21:25

fairly predictable - off the grid.
Don't do facebook, and think the kids should be big enough to decide what they want about themselves online.

RJnomore · 15/08/2014 21:27

I'm sharey wary which is fine and just about right!
Mostly work related but I stay off social media by and large and I am quite wary of the hazards involved too...

Lovewhereilive · 15/08/2014 21:37

I am sharey warey. Doesn't suprise me.

HappySunflower · 15/08/2014 21:37

I am 'Share Savvy' apparently!
I only use Facebook, not twitter or Instagram.
My privacy settings are very high and I am quite careful about what I post.

Starlingsintheslipstream · 15/08/2014 21:42

I'm off the grid. Fairly accurate, I'm tech savvy but not interested in social media at all.

BiscuitsAreMyDownfall · 15/08/2014 21:48

Sharey-Wary for me.

I have facebook, but rarely post a status let alone pictures. I also dont understand why anyone would care what X had for tea let alone seeing a bloody picture of it. I do understand why people may share pictures of their family to other family members who live nowhere near, but I see mine once a month anyway.

I do have a twitter account, but not sure of my password as I only went on to see what the fuss was about.

I actually wonder about these people who share everything on Facebook/Twitter etc. Is their life so good it has to be shared and always something to say? Or have they nothing better to do so they go on social media? Or is it a bit of both?

FunnyBird · 15/08/2014 21:54

Share savvy.
Perhaps I over share a bit. But I've got computer savvy olds who keep up with us and what we are up to with email and Facebook and Google+.
Makes things easier.

skyeskyeskye · 15/08/2014 21:55

Share-savvy

That's about right. 6yo DD has very limited access to my computer and laptop.

TodaysAGoodDay · 15/08/2014 21:55

Sharey-wary. Sounds about right to me.

sharond101 · 15/08/2014 21:58

Share-savvy. I hate the idea of sharing all my life stories online and keep myself to myself in that department.
