To celebrate the launch of the new Vodafone family price plan - Red+ - we have developed a new fun quiz to find out what kind of sharent you are!

What’s a sharent we hear you say…well it’s all about your attitude to sharing photos and updates of your DC online. Are you shary-savvy, a Shary Mary, shary-wary – or totes off the grid?
Take the short quiz now to find out

Vodafone say “For some parents, the internet can seem like a bit of minefield and with new technology emerging all the time, it can be hard to stay up to date. If that sounds like you, worry not. Vodafone has put together some guides and articles to help parents maintain control and keep the family safe – find out more here
Vodafone has also launched a new plan, designed specifically for families. Red+ gives you one data allowance to share and you can even cap your kids’ data so they don't go over their limit. You'll get one simple bill for all devices, saving you money compared to individual plans, and you'll also get unlimited calls and texts”

Find out more at vodafone.co.uk/redplus.

Please take a few minutes to do the quiz and return to this thread to post your sharenting result – let Vodafone know on this thread what it is and what you think and you’ll be entered into a prize draw where one MNer will win a £250 John Lewis voucher.

The Vodafone Digital Parenting Guide can be found here: www.vodafone.co.uk/family

Thanks and good luck

What is your sharenting style?
You are share-savvy

Yes, sounds about right. It's part of modern life so everyone should be aware of risks but not be scared about everything! Knowledge & common sense is the way to go.

Fishstix · 19/08/2014 23:21

I got 'off the grid' which is true of my kids, (they get about two hours a month on my ipad) but not of DH's and I. I think I scored this because I take pictures the old fashioned way and then put them on my ipad and share them. I never use my very old very cheap phone, because I can't take pictures on it or connect to the web, so the iPads kind of taken it's place. I'd be lost without the connectivity it gives my though, I organise my life online!

Fishstix · 19/08/2014 23:22

DH, not DHs....am not that energetic greedy!

LackaDAISYcal · 20/08/2014 00:20

You are share-savvy

Whilst you’re not adverse to a bit of online boasting, you remain a leetle bit sceptical about sharing too much. In fact, you pride yourself on being pretty up-to-the-minute with your online safety knowledge, and you make sure you pass this on to your kids.

I try to be anyway!!

joopy79 · 20/08/2014 07:56

Shary -wary. I would agree! I didn't announce my pregnancy/baby birth on fb and I hate when people share my pictures of my pfb on facebook.
I do like to put up photos of the little man though as my family live in another country so I like to keep them up to date.

Blu · 20/08/2014 09:03

Ha! I am shary wary, which I knew i would be and agree with. However, it is by choice. I do send pics to certain people, but really hate FB. It isn't a matter of 'needing help to dive in' but not wanting to engage with the time wasting superficiality of it.

nat231085 · 20/08/2014 09:07

I am Share-Savvy

Pimmpom · 20/08/2014 10:47

Off the grid for me.

I am obviously very old fashioned and behind the times!

Babycarmen · 20/08/2014 10:52

Off the grid apparently haha

StainlessSteelCat · 20/08/2014 11:00

Share-Savvy. This is partly because I just can't be bothered! I use all sorts of social media to share photos and information, but often in a more targeted way than FB allows.

xalyssx · 20/08/2014 11:00

I'm sharey-warey, probably cos I can't really be bothered to share pics. If people want to see the kids, then they should get off their backsides and come over.

kimnews · 20/08/2014 11:38

I'm share savvy. I think this is exactly right. I don't update my FB status every day, but when I do it's something interesting I think people will want to know/see.

Madratlady · 20/08/2014 13:41

I'm 'Share-savvy'.

I think that's pretty accurate. I do share things but I control who I share them with. Ds will be brought up understanding how to use social media sensibly.

mummyxtwo · 20/08/2014 14:20

"Share-savvy"

Think that's fairly accurate, with a bit of camera-happy and also maternal paranoia thrown in.

spiroo · 20/08/2014 16:03

Share-y wary as not know where it will go in the end Shock

alliswellfornow · 20/08/2014 17:48

You are share-savvy.

yes pretty much :

HaveTeaWillSurvive · 20/08/2014 18:04

Share-savvy - sounds about right. Never going to get into selfies though!

roozocheeks · 20/08/2014 19:35

Off the grid...agreeSmile

Melonbelle · 20/08/2014 19:42

A share-y-wary, I could have guessed that!

I'm not one of those who likes to share my whole life with the internet, well except mumsnet but that's doesn't count right?

Nottheshrinkingcapgrandpa · 20/08/2014 19:43

I am share-y wary which is about right!

mistyegg · 20/08/2014 21:50

Err, kind of right but the children are still both pre-schoolers so will have to see how much technology changes by the time they are actively engaging in it to see if I'm still as "share-savvy" then!

ch1134 · 20/08/2014 22:04

What is your sharenting style?
You are share-y wary

You find the whole world of social media a bit anxiety-inducing - and need help knowing where to dive in.

AllSorted · 21/08/2014 06:46

I am share savvy. sounds about right. I don't like to share everything (and think my friends would get bored if I did!) but I don't see the need to panic if a photo of my child ends up on facebook.

saintlyjimjams · 21/08/2014 07:44

Share-savvy which is right.

12 year old ds2 has just started using a lot of social media with RL friends (outside of minecraft - which it's been up to now). He's fairly switched on about sharing stuff although I monitor/am nosey.

WhyIRayLiotta · 21/08/2014 10:20

I'm share-savvy

Probably right.. But I don't Facebook and only use twitter for work. I do however snapchat friends / family and I've an Instagram account that I rarely post anything on!
