To celebrate the launch of the new Vodafone family price plan - Red+ - we have developed a new fun quiz to find out what kind of sharent you are!

What’s a sharent we hear you say…well it’s all about your attitude to sharing photos and updates of your DC online. Are you shary-savvy, a Shary Mary, shary-wary – or totes off the grid?
Take the short quiz now to find out

Vodafone say “For some parents, the internet can seem like a bit of minefield and with new technology emerging all the time, it can be hard to stay up to date. If that sounds like you, worry not. Vodafone has put together some guides and articles to help parents maintain control and keep the family safe – find out more here
Vodafone has also launched a new plan, designed specifically for families. Red+ gives you one data allowance to share and you can even cap your kids’ data so they don't go over their limit. You'll get one simple bill for all devices, saving you money compared to individual plans, and you'll also get unlimited calls and texts”

Find out more at vodafone.co.uk/redplus.

Please take a few minutes to do the quiz and return to this thread to post your sharenting result – let Vodafone know on this thread what it is and what you think and you’ll be entered into a prize draw where one MNer will win a £250 John Lewis voucher.

The Vodafone Digital Parenting Guide can be found here: www.vodafone.co.uk/family

Thanks and good luck

What is your sharenting style?
You are off the grid

Social sharing? If people want to hear your family's news they can call you. On your land-line.

Hard to believe as I am always online.

Off the grid.

I am definitely cautious about this and I am pleased that I am. I loathe Facebook and get really peeved when anyone posts a picture of me on there. I have never had an account and the only time I will consider it is when the kids are old enough to want one and I need to monitor it.

I thought I might be a shary mary but apparently I do have my limits haha.

Chopstheduck · 18/08/2014 13:57

You are share-savvy

Whilst you’re not adverse to a bit of online boasting, you remain a leetle bit sceptical about sharing too much. In fact, you pride yourself on being pretty up-to-the-minute with your online safety knowledge, and you make sure you pass this on to your kids.

I wouldn't say I am at all sceptical tbh, as I don't really see the harm in a few pics online. The only rule I really follow is not to post anythign online, that I wouldn't say or show to the whole world in person.

Just to prove the results are on target this is the 3rd time of trying to post! I seriously need to get a bit more updatedx

Share savvy. Seems about right. I moved a good, long drive away from my family and have a fair few siblings so putting photos up somewhere where they can all see makes sharing what the kids are up to much easier. I like to think I exercise some caution and restraint though and chose what I share carefully.

"You are off the grid". This doesn't surprise me as I like to share news personally rather than via social media. Time on the iPad is limited for my little one, and very well monitored, as I feel children are very vulnerable. She doesn't engage in social networking, and I will be very reluctant to agree, until I feel she is of an age and attitude where she will be less vulnerable.

choccyp1g · 18/08/2014 14:05

Sharywary. Not that I really mind sharing but I don't understand the technology. Didn't even understand most of the questions.

trice · 18/08/2014 14:05

FreckledLeopard · 18/08/2014 14:12

"You are share-y wary". Which I think is pretty inaccurate. I think I'm pretty clued up about social media. Perhaps the fact that my mother can't operate a mobile phone, let alone a PC, brought my score down!

twinklenic · 18/08/2014 14:14

apparently im 'share-savvy ' which i think sums me up quite well. I have children aged 11 months , 14 years and 15 years. I have sat down with my teenagers and given them a talk about internet safety and they are quite good at asking about things and telling me if they have any worries. I share lots of photos on instagram and facebook but usually only set to close family

itsmecathy · 18/08/2014 14:16

You are 'off the grid'!

I wish!! Sometimes miss the old days before social media and mobile phones

milliemoon · 18/08/2014 14:17

I am share-savvy. It's fairly accurate. I will share photos occasionally but I'm careful not to do it often
