We've been asked by Cif to find out about Mumsnetters' fantasy Grin cleaning products.

Here’s what Cif have to say, "Our latest cleaning product - Cif Express Direct to Floor - can be used direct on the floor and small surfaces for a sparkling clean home. It leaves a long lasting and fresh fragrance. It's suitable for tiled, laminate and washable/ varnished wood floors. To use, you simply squirt the product directly onto the floor, then wipe with a damp mop, there's no need to rinse and it dries really fast! Now available in Antibacterial, Lemon & Apple Flowers and Wild Orchid & Velvet flowers, the RRP is £2.00 for 750 ml."

Check out the MNers review video here (and check out their feedback here):

So, what magic cleaning product would you invent? Maybe you wish for a super-speedy vacuum cleaner? Or maybe a stain remover that can remove every possible stain? Perhaps you'd like to create a dust-repellent spray so you'd never need to dust again? A loo brush that kept itself clean Wink?

Whatever your dream cleaning products are, Cif Express Direct to Floor would love to hear about them.

Everyone who adds a comment will be entered into a prize draw where one lucky MNer will win a £250 voucher for the store of their choice.

Please note comments on this thread might be used by Cif on their website or on their social media channels: please only add a comment if you're happy for your comment to be used.

Thanks and good luck,

Something where all you have to do is spray and wipe, and it actually gets rid of stains/tough marks.

Something which repels dirt from sticking/easing cleaning/lessening stuck on stains. For everywhere. Much the same logic as the stuff you can get carpets coated in, only for everywhere.

Rubber gloves that felt like you weren't wearing gloves and could feel what you were doing but that didn't hole really quickly.

A sand magnet. You could just hang it up in some out-of-the-way corner of your house and all sand brought into the house (in shoes, clothes, pockets, bags, hair, picnic mats, feet....) would instantly be sucked up and attracted onto it instead of getting all over the floor/bath/laundry/flipping everywhere. Then you could shake it over the bin once a week or something to get rid of it all. Also great for holidays!

Paint that detects when it has been scuffed by somebody on the way past and automatically deals with the scuff marks.

A great big fan that blows all dust from surfaces and gives each room it's used in a blast of fresh air. A washing machine that irons and folds. Self cleaning sinks

This is disgusting but our downstairs loo is so noisy we don't flush it at night, so something to prevent build up if brown urine stains.
Little boys also forget to flush in the day.

I would invent a multipurpose cleaner that could be used on anything. But also, one that had no environmental impact, and did not smell chemically! Think L'Occitane smelling products for your toilet/oven/floor etc. I know that Method have something similar, but really, their products are not multipurpose.

The household chore I dread the most is cleaning the over so some sort of magic oven cleaner would be fab - spray on, wipe away, no horrid toxic smells / harsh chemicals that are likely to burn my clothes/skin/kitchen floor.

A spray that goes on the bin and instantly cleans and freshens it without the user having to do anything else.

A quiet vacuum cleaner- in fact since this is fantasy land it would also be incredibly light and a pleasure to drag round the house.

I would love a spray liquid that you put on limescale and it just dissolves it with no rubbing - really need it for our shower. It needs to be eco friendly too!

A mould remover which would clean sealant effectively which wouldn't be horribly toxic and doesn't remove half the sealant.

A device for cleaning the dust off the slats of venetian blinds - maybe some sort of handheld thing that sprays cleaner and sucks it up again taking the dirt with it.

A sort of bomb type thing that you could put in your shower cubicle, close the door & when you return all surfaces & grout etc are sparkling clean (not sure of the environmental impact here) I think there are flea killer bombs, so something along those lines!

I would invent a sparkly disneyfying dust to sprinkle over everything prior to doing housework because I want ...

... to trip around the place like Snow White, trilling 'Whistle while you work' and dancing around with a broom whilst surrounded by an obliging band of cute scampering creatures who are only too willing to help out.

I want sweet-faced chipmunks to wash the dishes, hippity-hoppity rabbits to do the tidying up, squirrels to dust and polish with their bushy squirrel tails, and twittering birds to flitter and flutter about as they hang out the washing.

And that is all I want.

I wouldn't bother putting a prince in the mix because he'd be used to servants and probably wouldn't be the hoovering sort. No, my furry friends and the peace of the forest would suffice. I'd be happy to have the dwarves around too as long as they were prepared to muck in.

So that's what I would invent if I could ... disneyfying dust ... but until I figure out how to do it, I shall continue to be a dirt-denying Mumsnetting slattern, sitting here daydreaming with my cup of tea and a biscuit,

Cheers

Grubby White x

Love the spinning dish brush idea! I am in need of a super duper lime scale spray for stainless steel, glass & bath which smells nice, cleans grout and doesn't need soaking on; doesn't cost the earth. Another product would be static dust sheets that I could place between all of the electrical devices and TV to somehow absorb the dust created there (feels like) every hour! Oh oh oh and a window washer for sash windows!?!? Any tips? :-)

I hate hoovering and mopping.

I would love one of thos little robot things that just potter about all day and hoover your floor. SO...

My wonder device would be a similar thing for mopping. It would squirt cif (or other!) on the floor, clean and then buff. So that I don't have to do it.

toddlers / cats / muddy boots no longer my problem Grin

Not strictly a cleaning product but some sort of freeze ray so I can spray the DC for a couple of hours while I give the house a PROPER clean.

Some sort of invisible coating that repels all mess from any surface would be great.

Some of the sensible suggestions are actually really good!
