We've been asked by Cif to find out about Mumsnetters' fantasy Grin cleaning products.

Here’s what Cif have to say, "Our latest cleaning product - Cif Express Direct to Floor - can be used direct on the floor and small surfaces for a sparkling clean home. It leaves a long lasting and fresh fragrance. It's suitable for tiled, laminate and washable/ varnished wood floors. To use, you simply squirt the product directly onto the floor, then wipe with a damp mop, there's no need to rinse and it dries really fast! Now available in Antibacterial, Lemon & Apple Flowers and Wild Orchid & Velvet flowers, the RRP is £2.00 for 750 ml."

Check out the MNers review video here (and check out their feedback here):

So, what magic cleaning product would you invent? Maybe you wish for a super-speedy vacuum cleaner? Or maybe a stain remover that can remove every possible stain? Perhaps you'd like to create a dust-repellent spray so you'd never need to dust again? A loo brush that kept itself clean Wink?

Whatever your dream cleaning products are, Cif Express Direct to Floor would love to hear about them.

Everyone who adds a comment will be entered into a prize draw where one lucky MNer will win a £250 voucher for the store of their choice.

Please note comments on this thread might be used by Cif on their website or on their social media channels: please only add a comment if you're happy for your comment to be used.

Thanks and good luck,

A vacuum cleaner that really does get all the cat hair off the carpets without costing a bomb!!

How about a spray that you can put on your walls so that the muck that toddlers leave behind cleans up more easily? Yes, you can buy paint that is easier wipe but I don't want to repaint every time I move into a new place! (We rent so I am adverse to repainting every time we move)

Well I came on to post about my prototype skirting board cleaner...
I would also like something for the shower cubicle that does remove line scale - nothing really works currently (hard water area).
And a foam spray for soaking pans. That's what I really want. Instead of pans of slowly going cold water and washing up liquid, id like a foam spray that I can leave on and then wipe away half an hour later.

I would have a robot window cleaner held on by magnets so both sides of the glass was cleaned at the same time. I would also have a mini cleaner with sponge base for kitchen surfaces, squirt some cif in the top and watch mini cleaner wipe clean surfaces! Timed to do it several times a day instead of me doing it!

A product that gets titanium off bathroom porcelain and another that removes rust off tiles, could even be the same product, not that fussed! Please

I would like a mop that cleans itself so you don't have to spend time cleaning the muck that you have just cleaned off the floor. A pretty horrible job in my book. I quite like mopping, just not the aftermath!

An expanding foam cleaner for shower tracks or other hard to reach places which, when cleaned, can be peeled away to reveal a sparkling dirt and crud free track.

Please!!!!!

I hate soaking the floor trying to aim the shower into all the crevices!!!

I would invent an antibacterial bomb. one that you can lob into the kitchen and it explodes in a fine mist that settles on all exposed surfaces where the blasted flies may have walked. no need to rinse as safe on cutlery etc.

A spray that magically sends everything back to it's place whilst cleaning and dusting it at the same time as well as adding a blast of fresh smelling lilies (or equally as nice smelling fragrance) into the room. Oh and maybe while it's at it, it could stick tea in the oven for me?
Not much to ask?

A spray to get rid of all dust and dirt in a room in one spray :)

Do you remember that scene in the Disney Sword in the Stone where all the kitchen stuff washes, dries and puts itself away. That is what I would like. Talking owl optional.

Failing that, some way of wiring up the house so that if anyone puts anything down in anything other than the right place, a small electric shock is administered to them. Thus teaching them (and me!) to be tidier.

I just discussed this with DH and we agreed that something that could wash and dry the dishes for us would be amazing. Then we remembered that dishwashers already exist and we don't bloody have space for one!!

therefore we are opting for a grout cleaner that actually bloody works, unlike the ones I've previously tried which are about as much use as plain water.

I need something that can keep one step ahead of my eldest and his tendency to ruin clothes and furnishings. "Craft glue" on brand new joggers? It doesn't wash off, merely gets stickier. Blue-tack in carpet? Urgh!

A spray that you could just spray into your fridge and it would magically clean it. I could cope with removing and putting back the food afterwards.
Some sort of spray for shower curtains that you could spray on and rinse off to remove and/ or prevent mould.

I'd like a glass cleaner that I could spray on the windows nd then come back an hour later and it's evaporated with no streaks, leaving a sparky clean window behind.

Not strictly a cleaning tool but something that puts my duvet cover, pillow cases and bottom fitted sheet back on my bed at the push of a button. I hate that job. :)

I'd create a steam cleaner that has a bit to follow it so you dont have to chase it with the cloth so it would cathch the bits and do the steaming all at once. nothing major just makes steaming even more fun Grin

A grout cleaner that works and doesn't cost a fortune for a tiny amount would be great. Also a washing detergent that had suds when you hand washed the item but the suds would disappear and leave the fabric as soon as a cold rinse was used - would save time (and lots of water if it could also be used in washing machines).

I think a fabric/babywipe-esque material circle with a cut so it can be put on the base of any tap, with a strong de-scaler soaked into it. You could have it in those little silver lined packets in a box of 4 or something. Idea being you leave it on all day and come home to a simple job of whipping it off and rinsing crap off the tap base.
Voila!

A shower screen cleaning package - a spray which comes with a sponge/scrubber which is effective in removing limescale build up but which is not too abrasive to damage the screen. I have tried numerous sprays and have not managed to find one which works well enough. Some have too strong a chemical smell, eco brands aren't strong enough to clean off the limescale and I am constantly trying to find an eco-cloth or bathroom sponge which is the right texture to scrub off the build up of hard water on the screen. I also find that the spray cap on the bottles spray a large amount which just runs down the screen rather than a spray which covers a larger surface area. Its also helpful to have a clear section on the bottle to actually see how much liquid is left and therefore when you need to buy a new bottle.
